    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Several RV parks surround Cheney, Washington, providing convenient options for motorhome travelers. Peaceful Pines RV Park & Campground offers full hookup sites with 50-amp service, clean restrooms, and laundry facilities just outside town. Ponderosa Falls RV Resort features 140 year-round sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical hookups, water, and sewer connections. Big rig owners will find accommodating spaces at Northern Quest RV Resort, which provides full hookups and is highly rated for its spacious sites. Airway X Motocross RV Park in nearby Airway Heights maintains 20 sites with electric and water hookups specifically designed for RVs. "The sites are concrete pads with a picnic table also on concrete. While sites are close, they are spaced well enough that you don't have to worry with hitting your neighbor with your awning or having to play Tetris with your slides," noted one Liberty Lake RV Campground visitor.

Most RV parks in the region maintain sanitary dump stations for guests, though availability varies by location. Cell service is generally strong throughout the area, with visitors reporting 3-4 bars on major carriers at most parks. Pet policies differ significantly between facilities - Peaceful Pines has received criticism for restrictive pet rules, with one camper noting, "I've never been so harassed before by a campground for having a pet." Propane service is available at select locations, with Deer Park RV Resort offering convenient propane delivery where "you set your bottle at the curb they will fill it and return it to your cradle." Summer temperatures can reach uncomfortable highs, making parks with electrical hookups essential for air conditioning during peak season. Proximity to I-90 provides easy access to most parks but can introduce road noise at facilities located near the highway. Advance reservations are strongly recommended during summer months and holiday weekends.

      Liberty Lake RV Campground

Looks like a parking lot with RVs

This is a newer RV park in Liberty Lake. They have only been open 2 years. Liberty Lake is between Spokane, WA and Coeur d’Alene ID. There are about 130 spaces or so, with concrete pads and paved streets. There is grass between sites, but they are much too close to be comfortable, and there is no shade! And, the rules!!! Lots more rules than most other camping areas.’ It also appears many of the residents are semi-permanent. They have free cable snd wifi, a dog park, playground, swimming pool, laundry, and dump station. The sites are 30/50 amp, most are pull through but the outer ring is back in. They also have propane. They are on the pricy side: an outside loop 50 ft. Site is $74/night. Good Sam gets you a 10% discount. It is easy access to I-90 both East and west.

      Spokane KOA Journey

      Converted from a KOA

This campground was a KOA but has now changed to “Roam Spokane”. I don’t know what difference it makes. We arrived at 12:15 after a 5 hour drive, with lots of construction, (and a reservation) to be told check in isn’t till 1:00 pm. They eventually gave us our spot at 12:30. The site is small, barely large enough for our 30 ft. Travel trailer plus tow vehicle. 30/50 amp available. Also tent sites and cabins.t Lots of dust and dead grass. The railroad runs directly behind the campground so it’s noisy at times. The bathrooms and showers are clean, one of the 4 showers was out of service! There is a laundry, playground, pool, dog park, basketball court, and dump station. The internet is pretty good.

      Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park

It's one of the nicest fairground rv parks.

It's one of the nicest fairground rv park I have been to. This place was very well kept and very friendly campground host. This place is big rig friendly. I stayed in a 45 class A motorhome with a tow vehicle. I had no problem with the access to the rv park. If you are coming off of interstate 90, don't use exit 13. The round about is way to small to handle big rig or any camper. The best route is exit 12 big rig friendly. The price is very reasonable for this area. No shade.

      Blackwell Island RV Park

      Waterfront RV campground

      9/14 to 9/17/19

      Blackwell Island RV Resort

      Coeur d'alene Idaho

Close to interstate, located next to Spokane River and lake. Boat and kayak rentals. Sites are gravel, level, both pull throughs and back ins available, FHU, no privacy between sites. Some nice water front sites. Chairs in place to enjoy the small beach. Nice volleyball and play area. Small BMX course was fun. Cute landscaping near water, small trees within the campground. Picnic tables, no wood fires allowed. No tents of any kind. Very limited store at the office. Town very close with stores and restaurants. Nice restaurant a short distance at the Marina called Cedars. Great private bathroom/with shower. Nice laundry facilities. Free cable and spotty wifi. Moose too!

      Liberty Lake Regional Park

      Quiet park close to Spokane

We spent 3 weeks at Liberty Lake Regional Park while visiting our son and grandkids in Spokane. The road in is a little narrow, but once in, it’s a great little campground. Most of the sites are fairly level. We stayed at 2 different sites over 3 weeks, and both were level. They are close together! They provide a fire pit if you want one. Picnic table, water and electric. The dump station is quite a drive, back out, up the hill. There is a clean shower/bathroom building and a beach within walking distance of the campground. While we were there the campground hosts did a fantastic job of keeping everything clean and tidy. Several hiking trails, including an equestrian trail, waterfall, fishing and lots of wildlife. There were deer in the campground every day, we saw moose, owls, pilated woodpecker, and hawks. We were there over July 4th weekend and they had a fireworks display on the beach.

      Thousand Trails Little Diamond

      Little Diamond Newport Washington

We spent a week here and loved it. It is so quiet and peaceful. The sites share electric and water, no sewer and are positioned oddly they are on the off side and in front by the road. Some 30and 50 amp just check the box. The sites are gravel, some what level and size/length varies, a few pull throughs, our 37ft 5ver had no problem. Bathroom showers are ok. Laundry is good. There is a small lake free fishing, didn’t fish. We stayed in the Thousand Trails side, it is a split park with KOA on the other side. Two dump stations, nice lodge/ spa and pool open. AT&T and Sprint were very good. At our site 144

      Spokane County Fairgrounds

      Enjoyable Stay

We followed the map from the post confirmation email we received from the Fairgrounds that included the gate code as well. We realized we hadn't recieved the email with the gate code, so about an hour out, we emailed to ask about the gate code. We got an immediate reply, which was nice. Once we got in the campground (CG) area, we had the choice of the closely spaced pull throughs A-1 through A-8 or the B back-in area that consists of 35 sites spread out over several rows. We decided on site B-29 with water and electric(50/30/20) that had one of the two nice-sized picnic tables in the CG plus two trees for some shade. Since the back-in sites are in a large grass/dirt field, you can pull around and make them pull throughs. You have to figure out how you are going to angle in the sites and hook up to the water and electric, as the utilties for each site aren't exactly intuitive. The power worked well and we got about 50 psi on the water. We got 4 bars on Verizon and since there are not a lot of trees, a clear shot for Starlink. This CG is bare bones, but we enjoyed that there were only about four campers while we were there on a Friday- Monday in July. There are plenty of little dumpsters and a dump station up near the north part/entrance. There’s a restroom building towards the CG entrance but it’s just a men’s and women’s two stall bathroom. There’s no shower facility in the CG. We enjoyed our three day stay.

    Guide to Cheney

RV parks near Cheney, Washington sit at elevations around 2,100 feet in the eastern Washington plateau region. Summer temperatures often reach the 90s, while winter brings frequent freezing conditions from November through March. Cheney's location provides easy access to both urban amenities and outdoor recreation opportunities within a 30-minute drive.

    What to do

Boating access: Willow Bay RV Resort & Marina offers direct lake access with boat-in camping options. "Willow bay is great! We camped for the 4th of July and made our reservations online on their website. It was super easy. Great location, 10 min to the grocery store and restaurants if you need them! Easy lake access and a great swimming area," notes one visitor.

Motocross watching: At Airway X Motocross RV Park, families can watch races from their campsites. "The X Motocross facility was very accommodating and friendly. They advised us that they were running races that night so it may not be quiet, but we didn't mind. The kids were entertained watching the motocross races," reports one camper.

Casino entertainment: Northern Quest RV Resort provides free shuttle service to the adjacent casino. "They have a free shuttle to the casino that runs until Midnight. We went to the casino for supper. While the restaurant was smoke free the main casino was not," explains one reviewer who appreciated the convenience.

    What campers like

Concrete site surfaces: Liberty Lake RV Campground provides paved sites that stay clean during wet weather. "Roads are paved and easy access in and out. Sites are concrete pads with a picnic table also on concrete. While sites are close, they are spaced well enough that you don't have to worry with hitting your neighbor with your awning or having to play Tetris with your slides," explains one visitor.

Mountain views: Bergsparken RV Park offers scenic vistas from each site. "All three sites are level pull through with plenty room for extra vehicle. Sites are well separated with views of Mt Spokane and gorgeous sunset views," notes a camper who stayed there.

Wildlife viewing: Small RV parks outside town provide opportunities to see local wildlife. "Be ready for encounters with deer, rabbits, wild turkey, quail, and even the occasional elk and moose," mentions a camper who enjoyed the natural setting at Bergsparken RV Park.

    What you should know

Tent camping limitations: Most RV parks in the Cheney area restrict or prohibit tent camping. "This is a RV resort, they have everything you may need. Full hookups, big and hot showers, a store, laundry," notes a visitor to Blackwell Island RV Park, which like many others focuses primarily on RV accommodations.

Train noise: The railroad tracks through Cheney create periodic noise at some campgrounds. "Quiet except for train noise (not that bad). Clean restrooms and shower. Pleasant manager," reports a Peaceful Pines RV Park visitor who found the train disruptions manageable.

Internet connectivity: WiFi quality varies significantly between parks. "Free Internet leaves something to be desired," notes a Northern Quest RV Resort visitor, while another camper at Blackwell Island reported, "Wifi is bad. Really bad. That's not a big deal for us, but for some it may be a problem. There is a wifi room for those occasions you must connect."

    Tips for camping with families

Swimming options: Ponderosa Falls RV Resort provides family-friendly water features. "This is a well populated, well maintained adorable site. It's secure with a gate and even has a mini golf course inside," shares one family who visited with children.

Playground access: Multiple RV parks in the area feature play equipment for children. "There's a playground, basketball court, dog park, clubhouse, pool and bathhouse. All are nice," notes a Liberty Lake RV Campground visitor describing the amenities.

Safety considerations: Gated RV parks near Cheney provide secure environments for families. "Can not stress enough how safe and clean it is, we absolutely loved it's manicured gardens for an RV Park," explained a family who stayed at Ponderosa Falls RV Resort.

    Tips from RVers

Dump station availability: Not all parks offer on-site dumping facilities. "No sewer connection or place to dump. Spaces not well marked and uneven," warns a visitor to Willow Bay RV Resort, highlighting the importance of planning ahead for tank management.

Site selection: Peaceful Pines RV Park & Campground receives mixed reviews for site quality. "Small campground just outside of Cheney. Clean restrooms and showers. Has a game room and laundry facility. Friendly staff," shares one visitor who appreciated the amenities.

Overnight parking: Some RV parks near Cheney offer free overnight parking without hookups. "Great free spot. Stay hitched and don't pay a thing. No hookups, just a great safe overnight place to stay," advises a Northern Quest Casino visitor about the no-cost option.
