Mountain biking and hiking draw campers to this dispersed area northwest of Moab, where Klondike Bluffs trails sit within easy reach of camp. Sites are spread across flat, open ground with roughly 100 feet or more between them, giving each camp a degree of separation that reviewers consistently note. No tables, no fire rings. Just dirt.
The road in requires attention. Sand at the entrance has caught sedans and vans off guard, with at least one vehicle needing to be winched out. Reviewers with higher-clearance rigs report fewer problems, though even standard cars have made it through on firm ground. Cell signal is available, with Verizon users reporting two bars of LTE. Lisa W. sums it up plainly: "Great for dark sky and privacy."
One important note: the campground name now includes a notice that camping is no longer allowed here. Campers should verify current access rules with Utah State Trust Lands before making plans, as conditions or permitted uses may have changed since earlier reviews were written.
Those looking for developed facilities or a fallback option nearby can consider Utahraptor State Park Campground to the southeast, or Dispersed Camping Outside of Moab - Sovereign Lands less than a mile to the north for a similar setup on BLM ground.
