Great spot!

There is a decent amount of vehicles driving through during the day simply because it’s a scenic drive. Breathtaking views, would recommend 4x4. The road can get a bit rough. Plenty of campsites to pick from but I would imagine in the warm season it fills up quick!

Simple Rv Park close to Mexican hat

Full hook ups, no bathrooms or facilities. Simple and close to Mexican hat rock!

Nice park!

Nice park, lovely sights, friendly staff and close to white sands National park!

Nice park and great location to near by attractions.

This was a great spot and a unique park. It had good restrooms and friendly staff. Close to big bend, Antelope Canyon and so much more!

Recommend Off Season

We got very lucky with a last minute spot but the park fills up quick and should book in advance. A great stay and easy access to all the beautiful spots in the park.

Great Spot

Great park, friendly service, and right where we needed to be for us to be ready to go explore the Grand Canyon. We visit in January and it snowed. It was stunning.

Normal Rv park next to a Hot spring resort.

The campsite was pretty basic but it was a short drive to purgatory ski resort and across the street from a hot springs resort. Durango was a fun time and would recommend if looking for a spot close to all the fun.

Great stay and a wonderful park to explore!

We stayed here one night and did the hike in the morning! Such and enjoyable stay. They hike in the canyon is easy and well maintained. I would definitely recommend!

What an experience!

A wonderful park. Nice and quiet and plenty of exploring! The beach was on both sides as you drive in. The spots were definitely smaller than most other campsites I have seen. They do have struck policies on making sure your rig, vehicle and or boat all fit into the space provided. We booked through recreation.gov.

It was a great experience and I recommend exploring the fort. It’s all self exploration and it’s interesting to see how life and battles were back then.

Snowed over, but looks great!

Unfortunately we hit some heavy snow in January and were unable to camp in walnut due to the road being full of snow. A lot of the disperse camping in the flagstaff area won’t be able to get to if there is substantial snow. Something to keep in mind. We will be back in the warmer months to give it a fair shake. Happy camping!

I’d camp here again!

This was a great spot to camp, quiet, and the view was just amazing. Numerous spots available and access to the San Juan River. If there isn’t anything available, Vally of the Gods is right in the area with endless available sites as well and worth a the scenic drive. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to camp in this area.

Great Camping Experience!

This was a great spot to camp. There were a lot of options for campsites with enough room in between for plenty of privacy. I would recommend to anyone that wants a great view and a quiet night camping under the stars.
