Best Cabin Camping near South Weber, UT

Beautiful setting on two small rivers with shade. Full hookups, spacious sites. Nice pool and hot tub. Clear view to south for satellite TV.

The cabins were really nice, not too expensive, the staff was super nice, but the bathrooms were farther away than I would have liked and no way to drive to them.

Jordanelle has quickly become an annual tradition with the family.  All siblings, nieces, and nephews, grandparents come for a couple of days and we have a great time.  We use tents and RV's, but there are also cabins to rent as well!  Depending on what spot you get, there may or may not be a lot of shade.  Come prepared with coverings and it is great.  The water is wonderful, and all of the kids and dogs love it as well!  I recommend!

Beautiful park, awesome animals. TERRIBLE FLIES. We had no idea there was little flies that could bite like a bee sting, but there was. And we couldn’t get away from them. This was a trip we left phones at home and just wanted to get away, but we flew over it on the way in. There’s so many trails here and we so many bison it was awesome to see, a mini Yellowstone with sub par “campgrounds” which made us feel like we were still in the city due to them having concrete and artificial sun shades which was necessary.

We went during the summer and had a great time. The views were perfect and the lake is active with choice of water fun rentals. The site is standard with a small lawn area and a pavilion. Bathrooms are onsite as well as showers. Pet friendly but need to be on a leash at all times. Great for RV’s as power and water is present on each site.

Stayed here for a weekend getaway and loved it. Great place close to SLC and park city and for the most part it was surprisingly quiet,tho that could be a fluke as it got busier during the day. Feel like we just lucked out Especially in renting water toys as sounds like they are usually booked out if not reserved well in advance. Nice campsites that appear to stay well maintained.

Can be loud at night on the weekends. Lots of late arrivals due to proximity to the freeway (just my guess, but seems like the late arrivals only stayed a few hours). The state park offers boat, jetski, and other watercraft rentals, so this is a great spot to go if you like power sports on the water! It was peaceful in the early hours of the morning, but once the waterskiing starts up, the noise can be distracting. If you're looking for peace and solitude, look elsewhere! However, if you need the convenience of the location, it serves that purpose quite well!

This was a nice spot tucked away from the interstate but not super far. Clean restrooms, nice staff. Stayed here twice on our trip to Moab. Plan on staying again on other trips to southern Utah

We traveled to Utah from California for our annual Christmas camping adventure. This was our first spot, and it was a wonderful place to start. We don’t have to worry about the bugs, being it’s December. There were a few other campers, but there were a few others.

By far one of my favorite stops through Utah ❤️ absolutely breathtaking views, along with scenic routes to see wildlife such as the bison. They had selective campground area sectioned off near the Bay Area, and also group camping spots that where much larger and secluded near the Bay Area as well.

This park is a great stopover on your way through Utah or weekend visit. The lake is clean and still very natural. The swans circling the water are something to see. Lots of shade rustic but serviceable showed. A bit pricy at 30 a night but right off the highway and no real traffic noise.

One of our favorite state parks in Utah is only~45 minutes away from Salt Lake City! There are bison, antelope, deer, and many other animals that call this island home. On the west side of the island are extensive muds flats that give you one of the best sunset views in Utah. One of our favorite things to do on the island is hike Frary Peak which is the high point of the island. The top portion of the hike is a rocky scramble, but there are plenty of side trails to beautiful viewpoints during the hike. 

As for the best season to visit the island, we are partial to winter due to the absolute lack of bugs and stunning contrast of the bison on fresh snow. Our 2nd favorite season is early spring before the bugs come out in full swarm! I wouldn't recommend visiting in late spring or summer as there are swarms of all kinds of biting bugs and the temps can be unbearable.

This isn't the prettiest lake. It is nice and big, but since it is one of the closest to Utah Valley and Salt Lake Valley, it gets a lot of traffic. Boat ramps during the summer are always very crowded. Beaches and campgrounds are decent, but the lake isn't that enjoyable. We just went boating here in September. The water was very cold! I recommend a wetsuit if you have one!

Overall, the facility is neat and clean for a campground. My visit was at the end of the 4th weekend, so some messes were expected. My campsite was in good shape upon setting up my 30ft trailer. All sites are back-in and mostly flat asphalt. A little rig leveling might be needed. The outside of the loop at Dixie C.G. is electric and water only. The inside of the loop has full hook-ups. 

 All sites have long, sturdy metal tables and a metal cover over a concrete pad. A fire pit was adjacent. Even with fire restrictions almost everywhere else in Utah, wood fires were permitted in the provided pit. Common area toilets are well maintained, containing flush toilets and running water. Most service buildings also contain free showers.

A one-star deduction is due to the effects of climate change, which is out of the Park's control to an extent. That said, my beef is with maintenance of the beach - a nice beach by the way. It's obvious where the historical water level use to be. Wish I could have seen the reservoir full because it may never happen again. But I digress. I think the park should rake or scrape the beach surface to remove offensive weeds and people's discards. That takes workers, budget and equipment. My guess is our State representatives lack interest to fund state parks for such mediation measures. It would greatly enhance the visual appeal and safety for families at the water's edge.

This RV park was overall a good experience. We didn’t use the pool, but they had one. Our biggest complaint about this park was the minimal distance between sites. It does have close proximity to a lot of what Ogden offers. Concrete pads were nice, but were a couple dollars more than gravel sites. Checkin was quick and easy. Their preferred route out of the park is fairly narrow and goes right by the dumpster. We had to go around another loop and take a different lane out due to a park guest who decided to back up and block the preferred route while loading their toy hauler. We were only here for one night on the way to another destination, but we might have used more amenities if staying longer. Price seemed reasonable.

No frills (they do have a pool) RV Park right next to the I-15 freeway in Ogden. Great desk staff. Good prices. Great option if you just need an overnight. They will leave a very informative packet for you if you arrive after hours. Wi-fi is good.
