Top 10+ Glamping near Roy, UT

We stayed in a yurt and it was an amazing experience! The yurt had a cozy gas powered fireplace. It got down to about 30 degrees but we were actually too hot. Beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Woke up to deer outside our yurt. Great experience!

This is a great place to take a small group for some winter backcountry fun not far from the city. There are more remote yurt options around, but this one feels pretty remote with its 2.5 mile hike in. It does tend to fill up fast so book early. It has a spacious bunk area with a nice wood burning stove that keeps everything toasty during the cold nights. Grab the gang and have a great time.

This was a nice spot tucked away from the interstate but not super far. Clean restrooms, nice staff. Stayed here twice on our trip to Moab. Plan on staying again on other trips to southern Utah

This park is a great stopover on your way through Utah or weekend visit. The lake is clean and still very natural. The swans circling the water are something to see. Lots of shade rustic but serviceable showed. A bit pricy at 30 a night but right off the highway and no real traffic noise.

Rockport State park in Utah, at the Crandall Cove sites. Sites are well kept, the reservoir is really low. Hiking is nice. Bike trails are well kept. $25 per nite, no hook ups in this section, but up in Juniper section they have hook-ups, $35

This is super close to my favorite mountain bike ride in Northern Utah - The Wasatch Crest Trail. As you can tell in the pictures, this area is very lush and rich with pine trees. It stays relatively cool, even in the summer time. One of the best reasons to stay here is for the mountain biking though. There's nothing like riding a bike through deep dark forests, soaring mountains, and stretching meadows riddled with flowers. Doughnut Falls is also a very worthy destination if you don't like mountain biking. It is a family friendly hike we've done many times with a three year old, especially considering how rewarding the waterfall payoff is at the end! Highly recommend camping in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Overall, the facility is neat and clean for a campground. My visit was at the end of the 4th weekend, so some messes were expected. My campsite was in good shape upon setting up my 30ft trailer. All sites are back-in and mostly flat asphalt. A little rig leveling might be needed. The outside of the loop at Dixie C.G. is electric and water only. The inside of the loop has full hook-ups. 

 All sites have long, sturdy metal tables and a metal cover over a concrete pad. A fire pit was adjacent. Even with fire restrictions almost everywhere else in Utah, wood fires were permitted in the provided pit. Common area toilets are well maintained, containing flush toilets and running water. Most service buildings also contain free showers.

A one-star deduction is due to the effects of climate change, which is out of the Park's control to an extent. That said, my beef is with maintenance of the beach - a nice beach by the way. It's obvious where the historical water level use to be. Wish I could have seen the reservoir full because it may never happen again. But I digress. I think the park should rake or scrape the beach surface to remove offensive weeds and people's discards. That takes workers, budget and equipment. My guess is our State representatives lack interest to fund state parks for such mediation measures. It would greatly enhance the visual appeal and safety for families at the water's edge.

Easy access, hidden beauty amongst a run down neighborhood , has a lake and a river

After reading the reviews, we were excited to come here.

When we got here the staff was great but the spots were a lot smaller than expected. There's a spray painted line that separates you from the other camper in the same lane as you.

They provide benches but the gravel area that your bench is on shares space with your neighbors sewer.

Besides the strqnge layout, the place is not bad. They have an above average play area for the kids. Including a splash park... There's plenty of grass for your four legged friends and several options for working out/walking.

The Base Exchange is very close as well as the Commissary.

You need to reserve sites here well in advance as it fills up for the entire Summer as soon as the reservation window opens. It is very clean and well maintained! We loved that we could bring the jet skis right over to the beach at the campground and also that they have a dog beach. We had a fantastic view from our site.

This was a really nice place for only being 40 mins from the city. Good beach front not a far walk from our campsite. Lots of trees to hang your hammocks up on. If you have some water toys it’s awesome because you can anchor them on the shore or the dock.

A very clean and very convenient campground. Tons of trails nearby and being on the reservoir is great for hot days. Fishing was a blast! Will definitely be back.

This is a huge campground that sits on the south side of Pineview Reservoir that has a multitude of options for camping and day trips as well as a marina.  The first Forest Service Campground you'll encounter heading up Ogden Canyon and the only major campground on the south side of Pineview.  There are 58 single sites for 28$ as well as additional tent sites that are cheaper for 21$.  There are also 9 double sites and 4 group sites along with parking for boat trailers and day use for picnic and beach access.  Every site has a metal fire ring and a varying amount of picnic tables.  There is a small convenience store kin the reservation hut as well as vault toilets and drinking water spigots spread throughout the campground.

For fun things to do in the area look no further than Pineview Reservoir just to the north!  From chilling on the beach to fishing from shore or swimming.  There are many options for easy, cheap recreation direct from camp.  There is also a boat launch ramp right in the campground that makes it easy to spend the day motor boating around the reservoir.  Just down canyon there is also a decent amount of decent climbing on some good to high quality quartzite rock.

A good campground, but for a price. I prefer BLM camping even though there are less luxuries and amenities. Dogs are allowed on leash at the campground only, not on the beach. There are operators riding around on golf carts frequently throughout the day. The market provides foods and necessities including wood but it’s all pretty over priced. Overall we had a good time, the place is nice. Camp areas are all pretty close together, not very private.

Beautiful camping. Very unfortunate that it’s next to a main street. Heard cars drive by non stop. Friendly staff. Easy reservation. Not the best but not the worst.

This is a great place for a family reunion. We enjoyed the camp site and the short walk to the lake. Facilities were clean and staff was great.
