First day of my campsite, I’ve enjoyed my campers. I told them about the area and name of the monuments . I did start with 2 campsites, than continued to built more campsite. I wanted my campers to enjoy a fire pit and shower during their stay. Now we have warm shower during warmer season. We been improving our outhouse which is an outdoor restroom. An outhouse is dirt hole with no water to flush. Our campsite is very safe, I built a wooden fence around the whole campsite so horses and cows will not eat our trees and garden. Campers to feel comfortable and have some privacy to their site and during their stay. Now, Our campers guests enjoy our campsite and enjoy having them return again. We always explain to them them about our short hiking trail to the rims (Private Overlook) to see the whole valley. Its a beautiful area to take pictures for Sunrise and Sunset.

Guest can pitch a tent or park RV within the campsite having access to own picnic table and fire pit. The Campsite is 10-15 mins to the Valley View of the Famous Monuments and close to Navajo Tribal Park.

Access to Shower and Restroom (Outhouse) Very Clean.

Guest can request Navajo Taco Dinner with Navajo Tea for extra cost to enlighten their stay here in Beautiful Monument Valley. Text or Call me at 435-444-5714 to request Our Delicious Navajo Taco with Navajo Tea.

Guest can bring pets as well. We are pet friendly and have two well behaved dogs name Shina and diamond.

Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park

Rustic resort on the doorstep of Mesa Verde National Park

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights in late July in a 34-foot travel trailer. We made reservations over the phone and found the customer service to be exemplary (I called at the last minute to both cancel and then later to re-instate my reservation when we had car trouble on the way). When we arrived the check-in process was straight forward and easy. The roads are gravel but well-graded and the majority of the sites are pull-thru. We had no trouble getting into ours, however, we found rather quickly that sites are extremely close together. Our back-side neighbors had to move their picnic table back in order to accommodate our driver-side slide (the distance between our extended slide and their trailer is about 8 feet. But... we all made it work. There is a 10 pm lights-out policy to cut down on light pollution and see the stars. And the people who camped next to us were considerate.

The campground has lots of amenities. A log cabin (rec center) with pool, video games, TV with DVD library, books, and board games. Laundry with decent pricing. Mini-golf ($3 per person). A nice pool and hot tub. A dog park with agility obstacles. Nice playground. Wifi signal is strong with decent bandwidth (they discourage streaming). Next door is a horseriding stables ($40 an hour, $25 for a half hour); the horses come up to the fence and love to be petted. The store in the office is small but has the basic amenities. Groceries can be purchased in Cortez, a 15-minute drive away. And, of course, Mesa Verde National Park is right across the road, less than 5 minutes to the visitor center.  The only downside (besides the tightness of the spaces) is that dumpster was very full and near to overflowing.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here, and thought the location to the park and local area was perfect. Would recommend and definitely stay here again.

    Beautiful Campground

This is a really pretty place with level sites. Full hookups. One end of the Campground has cabins, yurts, Prarie Schooner wagons, and triframe cabins. All along the gorgeous Dolores River. This would be the perfect spot to meet with friends or family who don't have an RV. We were at site 13 with our 30' Grand Design bumper pull trailer. Plenty of room. Our site backs up to a fishing pond (catch and release). Big, clean restrooms and showers. The town of Dolores is a 5 minute drive... plenty of restaurants and a brewery. Definitely coming back.

    Everything you need

A nice campground with both tent and RV plots. They have showers, flush toilets and laundry facilities. There is also a cabin with books and games. It is very close to the park. The layout is nice and it is very family friendly, but also good for people without kids.

    Nice spot. Very quiet.

New owners have really polished the place up. They also have "cabin" rooms in a refurbished vintage motel on site. It was a nice change to park the camper snd indulge in a room with queen beds and an unlimited hot showet after 11 days camping. Reasonable rates and free continental breakfast.

    Nice setting

Pretty setting on the Dolores River. Sites are fairly close together even by Colorado standards but they are level. There is a couple of fishing ponds, river access, Yurts, cabins, and a few Covered wagons to rent.

Water pressure or lack of is the worst. The worst we have experienced in over 100 campgrounds.

Not bad if you're passing through

Clean, but it's on the industrial edge of Cortez. Thankfully it had a nice view of the Mesa Verde mountain range from many sites. We happened to be in a site directly behind one of the cute cabins that have a premium view. Gravel drive and pads. Utilities back to back. Laundry and restroom were clean.

    Peaceful beauty.

Other reviews were not kidding about it being so peaceful here having plenty of amenities AND a cool vibe. They even have a fun house with ping pong, fooseball and other games. We woke up to a rainbow with a beautiful view of the Ute Mountains in the distance. Hosts are friendly and helpful, and location is just a few mile outside Cortez and has a couple great Mexican restaurants! This campsite even offers Teepees and cabins to stay in, a really unique opportunity for a nice experience.

    Don't stay here

My family and I have been to so many different campgrounds over the years and this one was the worst one I've ever seen. When we got there the place was filled with signs that basically said children couldn't do anything or only registered guests can do this. They also advertise putt putt but they had a tree that hung over one of the holes 2 feet off the ground making it almost impossible to play. As we got there a thunder storm was coming in making us uncomfortable setting up a tent. When we asked about switching to a cabin she told us it was a 2 night minimum and didn't even ask if we wanted to pay for 2 nights even though the cabins were completely empty. We ended up asking if we could car camp and she was very hesitant to even let us. When we got to our site it was so uneven and unmaintained that we couldn't even set up a tent if we wanted. There was also barely any gravel and with the rain car camping was a no. Even though we couldn't stay there because of the conditions she refused to give us a refund even a partial refund. As we were leaving with no place to stay she started smirking. We had to sleep at the Loves because everything else was booked. I'm am very disappointed, avoid this place at all cost.

    Cortez, Mesa Verde KOA

This KOA is the Best in the West

The Cortex/Mesa Verde KOA in Cortez, Colorado, was the best campground we stayed at (out of 10) on our #9parks12days road trip in June 2016. Not only was the site itself updated, it was the FIRST KOA we stayed at that had usable Wi-Fi - as in video streaming capabilities! When traveling with kids, this is such a HUGE amenity.

This campground has an updated playground, heated (seasonal) swimming pool, a 1-mile walking trail, dog park, and even tepees in addition to cabins for overnight camping. Not to mention, the campground is located a mere 15 minutes from the entrance to Mesa Verde National Park. Other highlights: newer laundry facilities, of which we made use, and awesome mountain and mesa views right from your site.

Don't expect a ton of privacy - sites are very close together. The family next to ours had an outdoor living room set up that pretty much took the entire space between our RVs. However, the grounds were well-kept, and there was plenty of space to remove yourself from other people throughout the facility.

    Exceeded our expectations

This campground had so much to offer! Our original plan of camping in BLM land was foiled by the "elk and deer winter ranging" blocking off the majority of the dispersed camping areas around Mesa Verde National Park, but we were luckily able to land a spot at this amazing place! It may be lacking some cover, but it makes up for it in the large covered patio area that is packed with entertainment! They have foosball table, cornhole boards and ping pong to name a few! The kitchen was super handy so we didn't have to tap into our water tank for dishes. Owners were working hard on site to get the teepees up for the season and they were so friendly! A peaceful area that is just a quick drive from the park! All the main amenities were connected by concrete pathways that are lit by solar lights at night and you can tell they are continuously working and adding things to better the experience for future campers. They also have bunk cabins, teepees, sites with cover and I think we saw a yurt coming in. All in all, it was probably our favorite last minute campsite booking!

    Cortez RV Resort by Rjourney

Great except for the confusing “dynamic pricing system” they use

Cortez RV Park is a very nice park, with clean bathrooms & showers; community room with TV, microwave, & pool table; laundry room; good Internet service; outdoor pool (not open in late May); dog park; graveled sites with hookups & some shade trees; great views of the surrounding mountains & mesas; just 8 miles from Mesa Verde; located far enough from Hwy 160 to not hear much road noise, but close enough to drive or walk to shopping or restaurants; multi-level park with tent camping on lower grassy level next to small creek; & cabins & teepees for rent.

We didn’t use all the amenities, but enjoyed the ones we did.

Our only complaint was with the parent company, Rjourney. We called to get rates while 10 minutes east of town on a Friday afternoon, & was quoted ~$30 per night. The invoice showed a $15 lock-in fee to hold a specific site, increasing the rate to $45 + tax. When I called Rjourney, they admitted that was an error & credited my card for the $15.

We decided to stay an additional night & head into Mesa Verde for the day. The on-site office told us the rate would be $46 for Saturday night. When I questioned the increase, he said they use “dynamic pricing”, which can change anytime. I called Rjourney later that afternoon, & they confirmed that their pricing can change, despite the fact that the park was far from being full, so we didn’t understand the increase.

Old West RV Park - Utah

    Friendly, super convenient, full-featured

Monticello is the ideal place to explore eastern Utah from.  Everything is about an hour away.  National Parks and monuments: Moab, Arches, Canyonlands, Hovenweep, Monument Valley, Canyons of the Ancients, even Mesa Verde is close.  Moab is an hour away.  Cortez, CO is an hour away if you need recreational, um, tobacco.  It's also a lot less crowded than other places in the high season.

Old West RV Park, plunked down right in the middle of Monticello, is owned and run by "Big Jim," an avuncular trick shooter who regularly gives a show to the occupants of the 15 or so rigs that fit in his park.

Good Verizon coverage; the campground has wifi but it doesn't stretch out to the end.  We were in space 12; Big Jim seemed to think it was not the best spot (no wifi), but we liked it because our door opened onto a view across the street instead of the side of another trailer.

The park will fit any size trailer if you can get one of the few pull-through spots.  Other spaces, like ours, will fit pretty big trailers (ours is 25-ft) but you will have to unhitch and park next to your rig.  There are full hookups and everything is in good order.

NOTE: the water pressure is quite high.  They will lend you a pressure regulator for free or they will sell you one for $15.

We really enjoyed our four days here and would definitely visit again.

Clean, clean, clean.  Sites are nicely spaced and everything is immaculate.   Gravel, level.  Likely the cleanest bath house I've ever stayed in.   Showers (unlimited, included) with individual locked door and cushy bath mat.    Very friendly staff, too.

Very nice and simple little park right in the middle of Cortez

Neat and tidy and friendly. This park is in the middle of Cortez, so you literally drive through"historic downtown Cortez" to get there and pull into it right off the main street. That's a little unusual. The park itself is a simple layout; the typical racecourse layout. An oval with sites on both sides as you drive around. The pull through lots are in the middle, of course, and that's where we stayed. When we arrived, we were greeted nicely and directed to our site. Pulled right in, and all the hook ups were in reasonable spots, making our set up easy. We did have to use ONE block on our front passenger tire to keep from hanging by our jack, so I wouldn't say the site was 100% level. Enough room to easily park our rig(29' 3") and our tow vehicle, a Honda Fit. Everything worked fine: water, sewer, electric. Did not use the cable TV that was available, and never even tried the wi-fi. My cell signal was strong enough(middle of town) that I just used a hot spot for the little bit of Netflix streaming we did that evening. The campground is spartan but nice. My only gripes, really, are that the sites are quite close together, and it's near enough to the main street that you do hear some traffic at night. You don't forget you have neighbors. But we'd still recommend this spot.

    Sundance RV Park

    Great location, great bathrooms, &laundry

The campsite was pretty standard. Gravel spaces (needed leveling) with some older trees that provided shade, a full hookup and picnic table.

Best bathrooms/ showers I’ve used at an RV site, but have to go through the laundry room to get to them. I’ll post a video. Didn’t use laundry during our visit but saw many others using it.

Municipal Pool within walking distance that we used and enjoyed $5 each. Mesa Verde was a 12 min drive.

ATT & Verizon service wasn’t great, but was usable. WiFi worked well enough to stream Netflix!

Nice staff. Good location. Good sites. Clean.

    Great park, great people!

Wonderful small park right in the middle of town with easy access to basic necessities. 9 miles from beautiful Mesa Verde National Park. Access to lots of trails and beautiful views. Parks and visitors center right across the street , including a BMX park (about a mile up the road) Staff has been extremely nice and helpful.

    Great park!

This was a last minute find when 3 others were closed for the season. They are open year round and it’s a clean park. Very glad we found it!

    Very nice park

This place is very clean and well kept, very good staff, all services were in good working order. My son was able to watch YouTube on the WiFi. We stayed for 2 nights while visiting Mesa verde. Would definitely recommend this place.

The Views RV Park & Campground

    Peaceful, beautiful gem

Currently on day 3 of our 5 day stay. From out east, rented an RV for a month, and have landed at The Views. This place is worth every star. It’s quiet. Camp sites are well maintained. Trees everywhere for shade and privacy. The views looking out over the valley could be a hundred miles into the horizon. The Milky Way is so clear it looks like a cloud. There are new, immaculate bathrooms and showers I’m not afraid to use because they’re spotless. Laundry room is a bonus. My favorite part is a perfect single track trail that circumnavigates what seems like 20 acres of untouched land. It smells like piñon, sage and juniper. The camp host is a really nice guy. There are a lot of little details everywhere that show that someone thinks this is a really special place - and it is.
