Nice but expensive

First, you're paying for location. It's a KOA Journey, so you're not getting any amenities. Overall this is a nice campground. Sites are pretty level and gravel. Bathrooms are basic and clean. Staff is very friendly and can assist with directions and tours.

A smaller KOA

General: 56-site campground with a mix of 50-amp pull-thru, 30-amp pull-thru, 30-amp back-in, and 30-amp tent/RV sites. All sites have water and electricity.

Site Quality: All sites are gravel and level. As expected in an RV park, there is no separation/privacy between sites. Our back-in 30-amp site had a picnic table, electricity, and water. However, the picnic table was on the opposite side of the water and electricity, which was confusing.

Bath/Shower house: Very clean. Nice hot water and pressure in the shower (turn the hot water all the way to the left to get the hot water going).

Activities/Amenities: Dog park, playground, laundry with three washers and three dryers ($4 per load for both which was very reasonable). Although the laundry did say it was open 24/7, when we checked in, the sheet advised us that the last load of laundry had to be in by 7 pm. There is a store open from 8 am– 8 pm. Horse tours can also be booked from the campground.

We stayed here as we needed to fill up on water and had booked a Monument Valley sunrise tour and the KOA was one of the pick-up sites. We were able to go on our tour and be back before check-out at 11 am. There are nice views from the campground.

Quick basic stop with beautiful views

Simple campground with clean bathrooms and showers. Bonus to have a fenced in albeit small dog run. Playground is good for older kids, too big for our tot. Not a lot of shade or protection from the wind but we were just there for a night. Great views to wake up to and the night sky was breathtaking.

Road traffic was consistent but not overwhelming

Great place to stay!

Campground was awesome! Had very clean toilets and showers, as well as washing machines and dryers! (It costs about $2 to wash laundry by the way). The campground had a gorgeous view of the monuments and the woman in the main office was very helpful and kind! It can get windy in this area so be mindful when you go tent camping here, and bring something to make sure that your tent is weighed down! Other than that the campsite was great.

Newer KOA

Not very big, but adequate. About 5 miles from the Monument Valley Tribal Visitors Center. Nice grassy playground. Fenced dog run but be aware that smaller dogs can easily go under the gate. Staff is nice and friendly. My only complaint is that while the bathrooms are clean and have ADA showers with seats, there is no ramp to get into the building itself. The step isn’t big, but a person in a wheelchair will have difficulty without assistance.

Very clean and staff is always happy to help

The camping facilities, including the showers, are impeccably clean. Despite our heater malfunctioning, the kind staff generously offered us theirs for the night. The sense of community here is truly exceptional. I absolutely adore this place!

Clean but way too expensive

It’s a nice spot if you don’t want to boondock but it is pricey for being a gravel parking lot. Sure there’s a dog area and a little playground but nearly $100/night seems a little steep, even if the bathrooms are very clean.

YAY! Full Hook Ups…BOO! Super Expensive

What can I say - it was pouring rain and our free, dispersed campground was washed out! We called Gouldings, but they were full. The KOA had a pull thru full hook up site. We are trying to camp on a budget, and at nearly $150 a night, the budget was blown. I do want to say that we really really enjoyed having full hook ups and had a chance to catch up on Laundry, so there’s that. Also, it was very close to Monument Valley and we had fun. We were able to scout out our next camping location as well. The Wi-Fi was down for a while and then it started working. It was not busy in the campground. They had a very nice dog park. All in all, we really liked the park, just not the price!

Nice park and amazing views

Nice clean park, friendly helpful folks, nice laundry room. Really close to Monument Valley.

We had a full hookup drive through site with lots of room. We took an amazing Monument Valley tour that picked us up at the campground- highly recommend.

360 degree views!

We enjoyed our stay at this KOA for a few nights. We were here right before a cold front moved through in the late fall. The views were a true 360 degree experience and we enjoyed a fire as the sun set and we watched the stars come out.

This campground had everything we needed and was very clean.

We loved our Stay

My fiancé and I spent a night here of our 1 month long roadtrip. Pros: Super Close to Monument valley, friendly staff, clean 24hr facilities, running water. Beautiful view if the stars and planets.

Con: Really close to highway that’s a little noisy but if you’re unbothered by that it’s the perfect spot for a one to two night stay.

Great place for monument Valley

This is Monument Valley Koa. It is fairly new. Gravel roads and sites. Clean and we'll kept. There are new small trees planted, but no shade. The sites are large and the roads are wide. Plenty of room for larger rigs. We had only 1X Verizon service. We could receive and send texts. They have wifi, but it is slow. They tell you that on their website. You will not stream video. It is remote here. The staff we encountered was great. We would stay here again, if we came to this area. 4 stars only because slow internet and barely have cell service.

Clean but CROWDED

This is a very new, very small KOA. Trees are newly planted and sites are SMALL. If you like your front yard to contain your neighbors "poop-shoot", water line and electric box, then this is for you. With all the open land, it's too bad this campground couldn't double (or triple) the site sizes. Staff seem great but camping is about being outdoors and enjoying nature. I don't want to feel like I'm living in an apartment when camping. This campground just wasn't for us.

An Oasis in Monument Valley

This KOA is located right across the road from soem of the manor buttes in Monumewnt Valley, right in the heart of Navaho Country. We discovered this campground on our first trip to the American Southwest post COVID. This facility is newly owned and very well updated by way of lavatories, showers and laundry facilities (immaculate).  The owners are extremely friendly and connected to the guests.   All the sites have full hookups and there are additional services provided on the site such as jeep rentals, Navaho tours and horse rides.  We are satisfied with the accommodations and would come again if wevever re-visit this area. Very nice maangement!

A fantastic view!

We were able to stay on the short pull through row& got a view to die for! Those with small class c, truck camper& tent sites got the front row, which is completely unobstructed. Road noise at night was not an issue. There are big rig sites too. The bath house looked brand new. Very clean. New laundry room too. Very nice, courteous staff.

This campground has an outstanding view of Monument Valley! Due to covid Monument Valley scenic drive was closed. We didn't feel we missed much. Every night a spectacular sunset. Every morning a fabulous sunrise. This is a low light campground, so a star filled night sky not tainted with mercury vapor lights. We used this as a base camp for the area& were not disappointed. I enthusiastically recommend! We camped at Monument Valley KOA Journey in a Travel Trailer

Incredible Campsite

Wow. We set up our tent and explored the area. But this campground was incredible. The bathrooms are so clean, they’re practically brand new. We watched the most beautiful sunset over the landscape. Be warned - there’s a very friendly wild dog that likes to say hello. At least while we were there. She friendly and just wants some company. She did bark at night though with a few other dogs. Nothing to be concerned about. This area is so desolate it’s breathtaking.

Smack dab in the middle

Pretty much the only choice in Monument Valley currently due to COVID. Amenities are very nice. This KOA is still pretty new, so the trees are small offering little to no shade. The owner really cares & will do what he can to see that you're satisfied. He lent me am extension cord so I could make coffee since all fires were restricted, (my camp stove is a wood burning SoloStove).

Be warned, lights in the showers are motion sensors, it doesn't quite go black, but it will get darker, just open the shower door to activate.

New KOA, gonna be pretty good after it's finished

This is a New KOA during our stay the had some working being done still, they have just finished the bathrooms and showers, the road was still also being worked on, but was fine to drive in my car. It's very close to the actual park entrance only a few miles away, the wifi is spotty at best, and our electrical on our tent site was not yet up and running, they only had fire would for sale, as they were putting a small store together, and the road noise is not bad but it's right by the main roadway, with that all being said, all can easily be put aside as the VIEW.....AMAZING!!!

The bathrooms and showers had very nice materials in them, they were also putting together the kids playground, I plan to come back next year when hopefully it's complete. For the 3 night stay Under $120 it was perfect, which included our grass site for two tent's a fire ring with grill insert and a picnic table. There's another cool rock structure called Mexican hat which is about 30 minutes east and if you drive a little over an hour you can visit the four corners.
