Campers regularly cited the spacious, well-shaded sites and convenient 25-minute access to Zion National Park. Most found it peaceful with pleasant creek sounds, though road proximity and occasional crowding during peak times were noted.

Little Oasis

Good spot like 20 mins outside of Zion. Explored a few spots in the road and came back to this one at the first turn out. The other spots had fine red dirt and lots of ants, which for a stop halfway through a cross country trip and with a dog is not ideal.

The spot we found had a nice little babbling brook and plenty of shade. Much needed since it was almost 100 degrees.

Generic dispersed camping

Multiple turn offs from the Kolonial road with multiple sites at each. Some of the other turn offs would have been challenging to access in a minivan but the first one was fine just a bit bumpy. Pretty quiet on a weekday. Some flattish areas. Pretty dusty. Some wood lying around for fires.

Misleading; no service

I'm using Verizon and there was no service anywhere along this road. No idea why so many people reported perfect service; either it's intentionally mislabeled on this page, the nearby tower(s) are out of service, or some unhappy private residence is using a signal blocker. There looked to be many nice pull-offs but I did not stay here as I chose it on the map specifically for the good cell service and arrived severely disappointed.

Great hideaway

Was able to stay next to a little creek that was nice and relaxing. Getting to the sites were extremely easy

Almost no signal despite the reports

Site was a little busier than expected but I managed to find my own turn off.

I couldn’t get more than a single bar of service for more than a minute at a time. I’m not sure how hundreds of people have confirmed signal in this area.

Great spot with nice views

This is a great spot before or after visiting Zion NP. paved road until the last few feet, easy access without 4×4, and beautiful view. Very quiet. Just two other campers on the site

Little Oasis near Zion

Stopped here on our missionary trip. Praise Jesus! Great spot about 25 minutes from Zion. Pretty small, but we found a great spot. Lots of cows!

Great spot close to Zion

A really cool spot close to Zion. Unfortunately a spot we looked at was left with some garbage and human feces. A buzz kill for sure. Other spots were great. I think this was an exception, but disappointing that someone would leave a place like that.

Busy, Decent Location

Spring Break week every site was packed. We had to wait for someone to vacate before finding something that would work.

Convenient for Zion

We were a little cautious after reading some of the other reviews but we had a great nights sleep here. A large space, others joined us as the night went on and we weren’t bothered by noise and were close to the stream.

Excellent desert dispersed camping

Many spots available. Trees for some shade and a small creek. Stayed on a Wednesday and there was BMX racing at night till 10pm could hear them from our spot but it wasn’t a bother to us.

Easy and Close to Zion

It was pretty easy to find even in the dark which is when we rolled in. Pretty popular spot so you are kinda close to other people but is only 25 mins to Zion and plenty of spots. There is a little river that is so nice to go to sleep to and it is very quiet.

Nice view & convenient location

The sunset from this site was gorgeous! Panoramic views. Convenient 25 minute drive to Zion National Park. Closest wild camping we found to the Springdale entrance of the park. The only downside is that it’s pretty close to the road- but the road isn’t too busy or loud and you can get far enough away.

Easy access to Zion

After unsuccessfully navigating an access point further down Kolob Terr road, we back tracked to an open field just off route 9. No trees or coverage, but enough space to spread out. Small campers to class A's are here. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder at ground level but beautiful looking up at the surrounding canyon walls. Did I mention it was easy access to Zion....the only reason we're here.

Decent place to recharge

It was a nice spread out camp area. There were a couple of other vans there but the trees and campgrounds offered a fair bit of privacy. Close to the road without having to hear all the freeway traffic. It’s a good while away from the park (25 minutes maybe) but not too far that you feel like you are wasting gas. Definitely would stop here again. It is also on the map as the BLM campsite. Just to prevent any confusion!
