North Creek Dispersed Camping

North Creek Dispersed Camping, near Zion National Park, is a solid choice for those looking to enjoy the great outdoors without breaking the bank. This spot offers a mix of semi-private sites surrounded by trees, providing some much-needed shade during those hot days.

Visitors have mentioned the beauty of the area, especially the views of the canyon and the nearby creek, which adds a nice touch to your camping experience. One camper noted, “It’s a fine spot especially if you want to stay for free while you see Zion!” Just keep in mind that the dirt can get pretty dry and dusty, so be prepared for a bit of a mess.

While there are no amenities like drinking water or toilets, the location is perfect for those who appreciate a more rugged experience. Campers have enjoyed the peacefulness of the area, with one saying, “It was easy to find, camped next to the creek, not very busy, so it was pretty quiet.”

If you're planning to explore, you're just a stone's throw from Zion National Park, where you can dive into some fantastic hiking and breathtaking scenery. Just remember, this is a free-for-all when it comes to parking, so don’t expect a lot of privacy. But hey, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly spot close to nature, North Creek is worth checking out.

Dispersed Camping ~20 minutes from Zion NP

Relatively easy access from N Kolob Terrace Road. Arrived around 6pm and there were numerous sites taken up by longer term residents and fellow campers.

Most of the sites have ample space and a stone fire pit. 2-4 bars of T-Mobile 5G.

Easy Access

Had a campsite up the road another 30 minutes but our 4 year old was ready to be out of the car... pulled off into these sites and set up with a good mountain view

Great primitive spot

Stayed about 200 yards from the road and got there easily in a Honda odyssey minivan. There’s probably ten or twenty nice campsites and some with large enough trees to hammock. No other amenities or water source when we visited

Beautiful

Perfect site for an overnight stay! There were a lot of other people, but didn’t matter since it wasn’t noisy or similar.

Feels safe to be a few more on a site instead of alone.

Ok spot close to Zion

It was a nice stay but there was a lot of dog droppings which is always a turn off. Really not hard to clean up after your dog

Good place for a quick stay

Semi private spots. Enough trees to get some shade. Only complaints are that the dirt is very dry and gets caked on everything and during our stay it was 102 degrees!

It’s a fine spot especially if you want to stay for free while you see Zion!

There’s also some good views too!

Decent Spot

This is a good enough kind of place.  If you need somewhere to spend the night near Zion this gets the job done.  The area is more or less a free-for-all with sites.  People parked wherever there was space.  Do not expect views or much privacy.  You will hear your neighbors.  All variety of vehicles can fit.  We saw vans, small motorhomes, trailers, small SUVs, a Prius, you name it.

Good night near Zion

Good clean spot to stay near Zion. Lots of spots which means you're somewhat close to other campers (less privacy than we would like), but you get some beautiful views of the canyon. Would do again if looking for a free place to stay near Zion!

Loved this spot!

Stayed here on a Sunday and Monday night, there were hardly any other people and the sites are really private so couldn’t even see them. Tons of spots. We chose one close to the creek where we could easily walk down, the kids loved playing in it and finding tadpoles/crawfish/minnows. No cell signal most of the time but here and there would catch a bar (Verizon). It’s all red sand so prepare to be dirty, but the running water of the creek helped a lot. The flies were kinda bad in the morning, didn’t have issues with bugs at night and it got chilly, like 57° perfect for tent sleeping. Super close to Zion NP. High clearance helps but we were fine getting through with the minivan. I’d definitely stay here again.

Shaded by the creek!

Stayed next to the creek plenty of shade. Lots of little places to pull of, rather full but I was able to find a place as I arrived before dark. Would definitely stay again.

Good free option

I don’t expect much from free sites. Half of this area has shade, and half is exposed. (You get what you get)

Fires are allowed, but it’s a windy area so be careful.

BLM Land camping outside of zion

This is our favorite spot yet on our trip! We were at the site right when you enter but it was a perfect fit for our truck, our tent and there was 3 tree lined up perfectly for our hammocks. We loved staying here , pretty private given how packed it can get. The views of the mountains and rock formations are gorgeous and there’s a nice creek a short walk into the campsite.

Awesome spot!

This spot was perfect for us. There’s of shade from the trees and a beautiful creek.

We arrived at around 3pm and no one was around. By 5pm a good amount of people started driving in a picking their spots. We chose a spot right at the beginning of the road so I’m not sure how close the other campsites are to each other, but we could hear groups on both sides of us talking most of the evening (we didn’t mind, it’s just something to be aware of if you’re looking for a space that’s more quiet).

We walked over to the other side of the creek and there were a bunch of sites over there as well.

It’s about a 20 minute drive from the Zion entrance in Springdale, and about a 10 minute drive from the left fork north creek trailhead.

No campfires are currently allowed due to wildfire risk, so all the fire pits are filled. Make sure you bring a propane stove if you plan on cooking anything!

Overall, super pretty!

We found a lovely spot by the creek between two sets of trees (East and West) so we had shade all day. Great spot to cool down after or before Zion.

Great convenient dispersed spots

The road in off the main road was very rutted out from heavy use when it was wet but my jeep made it fine. Shaded site that also protected from the wind. Well used but clean. Many creek side spots. Sites not. Umbers but just looked for the fire ring.

Great spot for dispersed camping close to Zion and Kolob

Sweet Sandy camp sites, lots of space and even more if you and your car can cross the creek (4x4 and clearance recommended). Nice shady spot right be the creek. Awesome to hear the sound of the water running. Road produces sporadic noise but nothing to complain about.

Stream side fun.

It's rocky in places and the dirt roads are narrow in places which could be a problem for bigger rigs but it's doable. Heavily used, some litter problems and the ants are bad but otherwise this place rocks!
