Walmart

Walmarts are predictable in their parking offering. This one is quite close to some larger roads but was quiet otherwise.

Convenient

Walmarts are fairly predictable in their offering of a car park for the night. We had the unfortunate timing of being woken up by the line painters at midnight. We then drove to another Walmart 7miles away only for them to pitch up there at 3am! You just couldn’t script that!

Ideal place

Not the typical parking place for the night. However you just need to catch security and they give you a vehicle parking permit/pass for either 24, 48 or 72 hours. There are allocated areas in the carpark for vans etc. They do mention the casino but aren’t pushy, it’s of course level. The only downside is it’s quite heavily lit all night as it’s open 24/7 but great for Joshua tree.

Great site

Large site, uneven in parts. A handful of others in there, great nights sleep as well enough off the road.

Great location

You turn off for this site in the Grand Canyon national park. The road then takes you just off the national park onto national forest land - make sure you go through the gates and see the forest signs. Room in the trees for a few vehicles, it was just us for the night and silently quiet.

Reliable

Walmarts are pretty similar we found and ideal for a night, spacious and we could park out the way at the side. They open at 6am ideal for the toilets and to restock on supplies.

Quite a drive in

It was quite a drive in, we just got parked on the edge of the campsite as the smaller roads leading into the campsite looked a bit uneven for our campervan. You do drive passed a paid campsite initially, keep on driving. We had the place to ourselves.

Ideal for a night or two

A large space, though uneven in parts. We pulled in later so there were a few folks already parked up for the night. A quiet nights sleep.

Small but ideal

Enough room for two vehicles, three at a push. It was just us so no problem, fairly level and a great nights sleep.

Convenient for Zion

We were a little cautious after reading some of the other reviews but we had a great nights sleep here. A large space, others joined us as the night went on and we weren’t bothered by noise and were close to the stream.

Spacious site

We stayed for one night, loads of space, fairly level as well. Just a little bit off the road and really quiet.

Ideal for the night

We pulled off on the closest part to the road which was quiet all night really. There were other parts further up.

Small site

We arrived just before dark, it’s quite a small site. Room for 4 vans max, ideal for 3. We used to chocks to level up as it’s pretty uneven in parts. But a great nights sleep, we had the place to ourselves

Worth the drive in

We arrived in the dark and met one vehicle who was coming down. We were lucky there was enough room to pass plus in the dark you can see what’s coming as other reviews mention, the road in is narrow in parts and around 1 mile before you get to the camp ground. We had the place to ourselves in our campervan, there was room for a few more vehicles. Great views coming down in the morning

Ideal

Quite a large level area, though it was November and not peak season so there were loads of space. We pulled in and there were a couple of trailers with horses and a couple of other vehicles and we parked with loads of space between. When we left early in the morning a handful more of vehicles had joined.
