Sitting just off Interstate 70 in Green River, Utah, this KOA operates year-round and functions primarily as a reliable overnight stop or short-stay base for travelers moving through the Colorado Plateau. The campground has expanded its footprint in recent years, and that expansion matters when booking: older sites have established trees and some shade, while the newer section is largely open and exposed. In summer, when temperatures routinely climb into the 90s, that distinction is worth asking about when making a reservation.
Sites are gravel, level, and consistently described as clean across multiple visits. Pull-through sites with full hookups, including electric, water, and sewer, are available and well-suited to RVs and conversion vans that need reliable power each night. Amy I. notes that sites come with "a picnic table and patio" and that the showers and restrooms appear recently updated and are gender-neutral. A small fire ring is included at each site. Tent campers should be aware that highway noise is more noticeable at ground level, and that pet policies for tent sites may vary, so confirming dog access when booking is a good idea.
The campground includes a pool with a water slide, a dedicated off-leash dog area, laundry facilities, and a well-stocked store. A neighboring restaurant gives KOA guests a 10 percent discount, which reviewers mention as a practical bonus on hot days when cooking is unappealing. Hot water consistency in the showers has come up as an occasional concern in older reviews, though more recent visitors report no issues.
Green River sits within reach of Arches National Park, Canyonlands, and Goblin Valley State Park, making this campground a workable staging point for day trips into canyon country. Campers planning routes through eastern Utah can browse camping near Green River to compare nearby options. The staff here has drawn consistent praise for accommodating late arrivals and last-minute reservations, including leaving site maps and access information at the office door after hours.
Reservations are accepted and recommended, particularly in summer when demand from road trippers peaks. Those arriving in shoulder seasons like October will find the campground less crowded and temperatures more manageable.
