Situated along the Taylor River corridor in Gunnison National Forest, Cold Spring is a walk-in campground managed by the US Forest Service with a first-come, first-served policy. No reservations are taken. The Taylor River runs just across the road, and Taylor Reservoir sits roughly seven minutes up the county road, making this a practical base for anglers and paddlers. One vault toilet is on-site. Fires are permitted in the firepit, though firewood is not sold at the campground. No pets are allowed. The season runs May through September, so arrive early in summer weekends to secure a spot, as FCFS sites at this price point fill quickly.
