Rocky Creek Park is located at Somerville Lake near Somerville, Texas. The lake offers various types of recreation such as camping, fishing, boating, swimming, nature trails and much more. 

## Recreation

Somerville Lake offers many opportunities for outdoor recreation. Water sports, hiking and biking are popular activities. The lake is great for crappie, catfish, white, hybrid-striped and largemouth bass fishing, with catches weighing up to 10 or more pounds.

## Facilities

Rocky Creek Campground offers 192 sites: 30 sites have 30-amp electrical hookups, 127 sites have 50-amp hookups and 35 tent sites have 30-amp hookups. Flush toilets and showers are provided, as are picnic tables and fire rings. Two boat ramps, group picnic shelter, and dump station are located on-site.

## Natural Features

The campground is situated on a peninsula on scenic Somerville Lake. Some large trees cover the grounds, offering limited shade. Pelicans and other waterfowl frequent the shoreline.

Yegua Creek Park is nearby, offering additional access to Somerville Lake and all its great water activities.

Big Creek Resort, Marina, & Campground

**Max bridge clearance (on FM 60, just before Danville) is 13'4" ** Four units make up Lake Somerville State Park. Birch Creek Unit is on the north side of the lake, while Nails Creek Unit is on the southwest side. The 13-mile Lake Somerville Trail-way connects the two units. Somerville Public Hunting Land is nearby, also on the lake. Birch Creek and Nails Creek offer access to the lake for fishing, boating, paddling and swimming. On land at either unit, you can camp, picnic, hike, ride mountain bikes, play horseshoes or volleyball, geocache, and go birding. Explore miles of multi-use trails. Host your next group gathering at one of our pavilions or group halls. Camp with amenities at our sites with water and electricity, rough it at primitive sites along the Trailway, or choose something in between. Both units have restrooms with showers. Chemical toilets are located along the Trailway.

Lake Somerville Birch Creek Unit

The Rockdale RV Park is a great spot for a fun and relaxing vacation. Campers can look forward to a number of great attractions just beyond the campground including Apache Pass, Fair Park Rodeo Arena, Kay Theater and the Candeleria Mission. There’s also the Bella Peregrina Ranch for horseback riding and scenic viewing, the annual Nocturnal Wonderland festival, Wild Things Zoofari, Texas Sky Diving, and plenty of opportunities for kayaking, river rafting, tubing, fishing, boating and wildlife viewing. And of course, travelers can expect a long list of great local pubs and eateries to enjoy.

Looking for a weekend getaway that's a little off the beaten path? Camp Idle Wild is perfect for those who want to enjoy a secluded camping experience in the backwoods of a working farm. Nestled in the Post Oak Savanah of Burleson County, this unique campsite offers visitors the chance to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax in nature.

Visitors can explore winding trails, skip rocks in the pond, or just sit back and enjoy the quiet beauty of the surrounding woodlands. We are located just minutes from all the shopping and dining that Caldwell has to offer, so you can easily stock up on supplies or grab a bite to eat. We are also just a short drive from College Station, Austin or Houston, making us the perfect spot for a weekend getaway.

The Space:
Secluded campsite located on a working farm in Burleson County, situated on a small pond in beautiful Post Oak Savannah woodlands. Only 60 minutes from Austin and an hour and 45 minutes from Houston! 

Guest Access:
This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! 

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed with a memory foam mattress. The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. 

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.

If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the host's property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your confirmation email. Your Tentrr Host is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). If you have any questions regarding modifications to your booking, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support.

Parking from the campsite is about a 5 minute walk or less.  Pets are welcome but they must be kept at the campsite to avoid conflicts with farm animals.

You will have the experience of a lifetime at this sweet honey bee farm. The property has lots of other accommodations onsite, allowing guests to explore the farm, learn about bees, beekeeping, mead, honey, tours, and more, and meet others from all walks of life.

The luxury camping tents offer two twin beds for two glampers. The farm offers Wi-Fi, and heated and air-conditioned shared spaces. You are provided with linens, towels, and bathroom products for a luxurious stay.

The farm also offers various shared spaces where the bathrooms and showers (both indoor and outdoor) are located. You will also have access to a shared picnic table, fire pit, grill, community garden, screened-in porches, outdoor rustic kitchen sink and coffee station, store and store porch, bee observation deck, the mead tasting room, and FlyBy Porch.

Parking is located behind the tents. We request that you please pull off of the roadway and park close to the fence so other guests may pass by. You are permitted to explore the farm freely and enjoy the picnic area, fire pits, community garden, honey shop, meadery, bee deck and more. Biking and walking on the small county road is welcome, but we always recommend to do so with caution, especially with the 'blind butterfly hills."

The farm offers tours, tastings, and classes that are available nearly year-round. Contact us for more information and to book. Whether you want to learn beekeeping, see how a beekeeper opens a hive of bees, taste Texas honey and WildFlyer Mead, the farm has it all! Most weekends and some weekdays the farm will have food trucks or food service out of the Fly By Sip-n-Snacks. The picnic area and porches are open every day for guests to enjoy.
