Oakwood RV Resort

RV enthusiasts with larger rigs will find full hookups and accommodating site lengths up to 55 feet at this privately managed resort two miles from downtown Fredericksburg. The park operates year-round with electric, water, and sewer connections at each site, plus amenities like WiFi, laundry facilities, and a swimming pool with hot tub.

Site spacing varies considerably throughout the property. Some areas offer more room to maneuver, while others pack RVs closely together where slides may extend over neighboring concrete pads. The park includes mature trees, though shade coverage is inconsistent across all sites. A fenced dog run with separate sections for large and small dogs provides exercise space, and staff allows pets to splash in the front fountain with permission. Mark M. notes the bathhouses feature "some of the best RV park showers we've run across: Hottern' hell, easy to control temp & great pressure!"

The location puts three restaurants within walking distance, including Mexican, BBQ, and Italian options. A gas station sits directly across the street for convenience supplies. Staff assistance with backing into tight spots between trees earns consistent mentions from visitors navigating the more challenging sites.

Campers seeking additional space might consider Lantern Oaks RV Resort, located south of town with a different layout approach.

Guests commonly noted excellent staff hospitality and clean facilities as major strengths. However, numerous visitors reported very tight site spacing as the main drawback, with some considering it a deal-breaker despite the park's other positive qualities.

Well run, dog friendly, good locale

Quiet, safe, good location in Fredericksburg/Texas hill country. WiFi, nice clean bathrooms with some of the best RV park showers we've run across: Hottern' hell, easy to control temp & great pressure! Leave trash bagged at site between 0800 & 1400 for pick-up (trash valet), large fenced grassed dog run divided up into 2 sections side by side (fence is about 3 or 4' with water dish & water fill + another dog park for small dogs ~2' hi fence, lots of trees but they're not everywhere (not much shade though in spots just south of pool), herd of mellow goats borders one side (ram was head-butting tree), lots of birds, laundry was clean ($1.50 wash, .25 cent per dryer round). Some spaces are tight & close, some are not & have more space. We were in a very tightly packed area & so tobacco smoke drifted into our camper, so we shut windows in that side at night for a few days. Large rigs okay. Well kept swimming pool & hot tub. Friendly office staff. There is a fountain in front & dogs are ok to splash around in but ask the front desk first. Several restaurants within walking distance (Mexican, BBQ & Italian).

Best Campground in Fredericksburg

i scouted 4 other parks and we picked this one.  initial thought was nice park.  we found an available spot with lots of trees, easy in and out, and 2 miles from the downtown mainstreet.  very easy to get to when arriving in town.  by the 2nd evening of our stay, we decided this will be the only park we will stay at when we come to town.  dan & melinda are THE BEST hosts.  be sure to try and catch them for a visit, truly wonderful to hang out with.  the social evening on the "patio" truly showed their enthusiasm for making sure the guests have a great experience.  the park is very well kept.  very nice and clean amenities.  great spots for you to choose from.   gas station across the street.  and three restaurants that you could walk too that you must try - Hilda's Tortillas,  Bellas Sera Italian, and Backwoods BBQ is worth the wait.  they always says reviews should list the cons and pros to end on a high note.  and try i as may, i can't come up with any cons about our stay here.  when we come to town, if we can't get a spot here, we just won't come at all.

thanks dan and melinda!!!

Quiet rv resort

People are very helpful at this park. Staff helped us back into site that was between trees. Linda even helped set up our cable. Sites are close together. Bathhouse older but nice and clean. Toured world war 2 museum and LBJ ranch also with wine tasting. Very enjoyable.

Decent but nothing special

We stayed here for a weekend trip, and enjoyed our stay - however the spots were extremely tight and close together. The spot we stayed in was next to a full timer, and their slide was extended out over our concrete patio spot.

The pool was nice for the kids and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. However, we would probably not stay here again just because it was such close quarters.

Nice RV Park

This must be an older RV park because I have never seen site so small. The site we are parked in is long enough for our travel trailer. The truck is parked cross ways at the front of trailer and it partially in drive. The spaces are close together so the picnic table in the site next door had to be moved so the slides would go out. If some one parks on that side I am not sure what they will do with the table

The restrooms are very clean and nice showers. The park is really nice just the small spaces is the problem.

Good park

Good park. We had no issues at all. Easy hookups. We were in site E. It said by a pond but that was very small. Site was a little small but ok enough to navigate. Nice place and people there. We will return.
