      East Texas at its best!

One the prettiest state parks we have had the pleasure of visiting. It is nestled back in a cove by the lake and far away from the hustle of the large and small cities and towns. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful.

      Noisy

It is a nice campground, but there were lots of gunshots in the area and the spots are pretty close together. It is nice that it has full hookups, but my dump is towards the front of my RV and the dump site was in the very back of my space

      Quiet Place to Unwind

Staying at Buckhorn for the weekend. The campground is small, serene, and well maintained. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Some of the waterfront sites have a deck to sit and relax on. The park is very clean. We are enjoying relaxing here.

The staff is very kind, and the amenities look amazing! We're also excited to see a vessel home for the first time!

      Poorly run

Do not go- booked 3 nights only stayed 2. Only 3 years old, most sites not level. Adult pool is small and dirty. First day lazy river was not running-second day barely moving - had to push ourselves along. Advertise breakfast- not available any of the days we were to be there Entire region is covered in dense trees- they chose to clear cut entire grounds ,zero shade. Cabanas were nice but pricey..

      Fun weekend getaway

Overall had a great time with four other families on a long weekend. You will need a little side to side leveling for many of the sites. The burger I had at the restaurant was good. Others in our group liked their food as well. Adult pool with the swim up bar was nice and had good service. The lazy river was slow as others have mentioned, but that’s why it’s a “lazy” river. All of the staff was friendly. Will visit again.

      Buffalo Bayou RV Park

      Not what we expected

Made a reservation via telephone for two days a month in advance, but was not given a site number. When we pulled up to the office there was a note with a telephone number to call, but no answer. I saw a gentleman walking around and it appeared he saw us. After waiting about 10 minutes, I decide to driver further into the park. The gentleman I saw earlier was one of the owners/ managers, I would would have expected him to go to the office to meet the newly arriving guests. I will say that he was friendly enough and later, his wife stopped by to collect the fee and she too was friendly. The park itself has full hook ups and is on the banks of the bayou. The campground require you to sign a waiver because of the water moccasins from the bayou and because of the potential of falling tree limbs. The. Campground is pretty sandy so leveling may be problematic for big rigs. The do allow long term guests to store all kinds of equipment and gear, the site next to us look like a junk yard. Our fellow campers seemed friendly enough with the gentleman on the other side from the junk yard introducing himself.

Great view and large area for kids to play.

Had a fun weekend here with our two kids. Lots of room around this campsite for the kids to ride bikes and play without being in another site. This site is very close to bathrooms and dumpster. The boat ramp dock is just a short walk away. We will definitely stay again.

      Nice campground!

We loved staying here! The view was beautiful, easy to find and drive to. We were able to get a spot right next to the boat ramp and the site had plenty of parking space for our camper, boat and truck. Only downfall: the bathrooms could be a little cleaner but they aren’t terrible and definitely usable.

      Tyler State Park Campground

Quiet, lovely campground. Excellent park staff.

We drove from NWArkansas the end of January to purchase a conversion van in Tyler, but towed our 19-foot Coleman camper just in case the van didn't work out, at least we'd have a nice camping trip! We stayed in a pull-though space (#340) which was large enough for our Tundra, the Coleman, AND our newly acquired 2000 E-350 Sportsmobile Van.

The campsites were quiet (except for our dogs, who loved the racoons and deer...sorry!!) and well maintained. Beautiful walk around the lake to watch the sunrise. The facilities are standard state park facilities...everything worked. One toilet was a mess, but that wasn't the rangers' fault. One would think women would be more mindful of the mess they make.

Note that the gift shop isn't open on Tuesday/Wednesdays, so if you want a head badge for your walking stick, you can purchase one at the ranger station CASH ONLY.  Highly recommend this park.

      Very nice campground

We found this at the last minute and the had room for 25 days. When we got in the ownwer said he would give us the monthly rate because it was cheaper than 3 weeks. That was nice. Bathrooms nice and big and clean. They are on a golf course for you golfers. Concrete pads, we could tell some were not level, but ours was hardly any leveling. 2 pools, hot tub, splash park, play area. Internet good, though we did put out our starlink as we didn't want to hog everyone. Verizon great after 7 months of barely cell phone it is so nice.

2 downsides but not bad. Near a heavy used road, and narrow drive in and out.

Friendly and nice, we will be back.

Brand New actual no bull RV resort in Texas

We are traveling in a 40 Motorhome towing a car and are coming up on the end of a 7 month tour of the USA gulf and east coast, now heading home to the Austin TX area, We were directed to an immaculate concrete pad site with full hookups. As it was during the week. and it is mid October the park was about 70% empty, expectations are that it will fill up for the weekend only until the winter months when I would expect the snowbirds arrive. I don't understand the negative reviews, and that is the reason I am writing this, my first review ever. The park has a large lounge with a grill/coffee bar/adult beverage bar, a game room, exercise room, and general store, all of which were brand new and beautiful. There is a small lake with lots of floating things for kids to climb on, a children's pool with lots of water features, a lazy river to float around using provided inner tubes, and an adults only pool with a swim up bar. Restroom/shower/laundry facilities were perfect. The staff was very nice. It is getting cooler here in October, so we were the only folks foolish enough to use the pools today. It is a cashless facility so you wear a bracelet and all purchases for food, drink, or whatever are charged to your credit card on file when you check out. We had great included WiFi and streamed most of out television using it, and our ATT phones were 4  to 5 bars. We are "spoiled" RV'ers used to staying at  pretty much top of the line, no kidding, real RV Resorts and this place certainly fits the bill. Its not cheap for sure, but it is wonderful. We will be returning this coming summer for a few week stay during our next journey. As it is a new facility, there are not a lot of trees for shade by the pads, but they will come as the resort matures I am sure. I recommend this park to anybody looking for a good experience. As a bonus, it is less than 15 miles from Kilgore, the antique capitol of TX.

      Quiet place

Dean, the owner and manager, was exceptionally nice. The area is quiet and well maintained. Easy location to access from I-20. Verizon works great. We’ve been several places throughout the country and our site was extremely level. Plenty of room in pull through sites to keep toad hooked up behind 42’ Tiffin Bus. Nice area to stay overnight or for few days.

      Stillwater RV Resort

This place sucks, not a single good experience.

Dog poop, small litter around every campsite, gnats, grackles and flies are relentless(the gnats are so bad and so think you literally can't open doors without getting invaded, water is dirty, lazy river is so slow you have to paddle around it to move, locals are allowed in when they want extra money and its like Caddyshack Caddy-day in the pool, locals with their beat-up vehicles, dogs, and tatted cousin/wives invade the place, employees and their families use the pool regularly, food is terrible, everything is super expensive, sites are concrete but Not Level, prices on things change constantly with their"specials" so you may pay$80 for a Cabana that changes to half-price at their whim but they don't offer a refund for future days rented, pool furniture cracked and stained, dead animal left on grass for entire week, charged$140 for 2 toddlers(grandkids) that came for 2 days. You know a place is bad if their Refund Policy is NO REFUNDS AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON. They clearcut the entire property and its like a airport runway. Oh yeah, and they leave these high-intensity streetlights on 24x7. FINAL WARNING, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. IT'S AWFUL.
