Liberty Hill Park is located on the southern shore of Navarro Mills Lake in central Texas. Visitors can enjoy a view of the lake from the facility and participate in popular outdoor actives like camping, boating, fishing and picnicking. Life Jackets are available to borrow from the gatehouse.
Liberty Hill is also a favorite viewing area for wildflowers. The brilliant array of native flowers draws visitors from all over to the lake area during the spring. Bluebonnets, paintbrushes and a myriad of other native plants transform the often-bleak winter landscape into an incredible palette of colors. A wide variety of habitat provides a home and abundant food supply to diverse wildlife. Visitors might stumble across squirrels, rabbits, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, white-tailed deer, raccoon or armadillo.

Loyd Park is a wonderful destination for anyone looking to escape the city and enjoy the natural beauty of Texas. I highly recommend a visit to Loyd Park for anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing camping experience. You should go there territorial io. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is unbeatable.
GuideWe love this Jellystone! We are full time travelers with young kids and they love this RV park. There are sooo many fun activities (be warned, the cost can add up). The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The adjoining water park is a blast. We prefer the older part because of the trees that offer shade in the hot Texas sun, but the red carpet sites are so much better for big rigs. We’ve stayed in both and would probably choose the red carpet sites for our 44’ rig. One thing that I love is how much they are putting into expansion, we look forward to visiting again when the construction is done. Anyhow, there are some cons, but not worth mentioning considering how much good exists at this fun park!

Liberty hill is a very beautiful campground but there is a serius issue with the invasive Argentian ant. This is a great campground to spend a few days or weeks relaxing and catching fish. Lake Navarro Mills is well know as the best Crappie fishing lake in Texas. Navarro Mills Liberty Hill Park features a fantastic fishing barge that is covered allowing you to fish no matter the weather. Our visit to Liberty Hill Park at Navarro Mills Lake was a real treat with one minor exception, Argentine Ants, these can be a real issue when RV camping at Liberty Hill Park as this invasive species is out of control at Liberty Hill Park. We spent an entire month, as we typically do, in Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park in Terrell, Texas. There is a lot to really like about this campground. We would definitely stay here again.
Pros:
The park was clearly being maintained
The basketball /tennis courts had just been resurfaced
Anytime someone left, or a spot was empty, new gravel was being dumped and leveled
Even though closed for Covid, the pool was cleaned daily.
There's a small dog park area.
Doggie bags were provided in multiple places, and ample trash cans in which to drop them.
Sufficient WiFi repeaters throughout the CG
The grass is kept mowed down, good to avoid those Texas stickers getting in your shoelaces.
All but one staff member was really friendly.
Package receiving was well handled and painless.
Each visitor, even short term like us, gets a mailbox. You can go in 24/7 and check it.
There's a "swap area" where people leave magazines, etc. (Near the mailboxes.)
There's a nice little pond you can fish in, catch-and-release only, no license required.
LOTS of room to walk the dog!
There's ample overflow parking and trailer storage space so you don't have to crowd your campsite.
Laundry facility on site, we didn't utilize it since we have a W/D in the rig.
Bulletin board for posting things, we bought our W/D from another person at the campsite!
Park was pretty quiet while we were there. No ruckus or loud people. Folks walked around, talked a bit.

This was our first RV park to stay at with our new RV. We are from out of state and we’re visiting family in the Aledo area. We were welcomed at the office and check in was quick and painless. They even called us ahead to check on us and our arrival time to make sure we would be checked in quickly. The facility is a bit dated, reminds me of the parks my family traveled to when I was a kid, but clean and accommodating. The showers were in need of updated shower heads but other than that it was nice. The slips themselves were concrete and for the most part level. It took us no time to level and have our RV ready to use. The hookups were all in working order and easy to access. The pool is nice and clean, shallow for small children or if you just want to float around in the sun. It wasn’t ever crowded while we were there. There were a couple dog parks and three bath houses. All in all it was a pleasant stay. Shade is limited, welcome to Texas, but there were site with trees. We will be staying again while visiting for sure.

We got a free Thousand Trails membership from the dealership when we purchased our new camper so we decided to use it for Labor Day at Lake Whitney RV Campgrounds. We went with our camping buddies (theDyrt Ranger Jenny S and family) who also pulled their camper. The sites are first come first serve and there is no holding sites, so if you go as a group finding sites that are together is tough (several sites were bagged and not usable). We picked Sites #6 and #83 on Loop B. Luckily these sites back up to each other and the kids could roam between the two sites. The sites were 30 AMPs with full hooks up and that part was nice. Didn't have to watch tank levels every time someone (kids) flushed.
The campsites were pretty shady with red cedar trees which created havoc with my son's allergies. Poor kid was stuffed up the entire time we were there. The sites were pretty cramped, we were not able to extend our awning without hitting the tree branches. The road inside the campground is pretty beat up with lot of bumps. The amenities were nice - a family swimming pool, shuffleboard, washers, putt-putt golf. The campgrounds had several activities for Labor Day such as a water melon eating contest, frozen T-shirt contest which kept the kids entertained.
Don't hang anything on the trees. We had some LED light up and the park ranger had us take it down. Was actually a little harsh about it. Following that encounter we took down the clothesline that we strung up to dry our swimming suits and wet towels. No place to hang a garbage bag either.
Politeness in customer service was hit or miss.
Our stay was free because of the Thousand Trails membership but otherwise each site goes for about $45/night. I'll do it again for free, if I have to pay...I will go down the street at Lake Whitney State Park for $25 with full hookups.

Nice hard sites all with 20/30/50a, cable TV, and full hookups. There are 4 washer and dryers and showers for all 124 spots. So it’s iffy getting one - no place to hang your clothing in the bathrooms and or wash area. The bugs are bad here, we had ants in our trailer and lots of bites. When it rains stay on the pavement as the mud is nasty and gumbo. The road is very loud and there are train tracks with train horns blaring all night long - make sure your bedroom faces away from the road for the best sleep. The people are very friendly and responsive - while we were there the internet and water was off a lot. Management is not on site and so lots of things were going on at night. No security or patrols. Over all I would stay again for a short stay to visit family, but $55-65 a night was pretty high considering there is zero to do here , no pool, no meeting rooms, no grass to walk on. Two dog parks and one small play ground for kids.
ScoutPlace is not consumer friendly and service staff is rude. Throughout the online reservation process nothing is disclosed regarding the terms and conditions. After they take and accept your money, they email you a link to the terms and conditions which MUST you must click ACCEPT in order to stay. Immediately tried to cancel as I didn't agree with some of the terms and they take a$50 cancelation fee. I call not disclosing this information prior to accepting payment, forcing acceptance after the fact and then refusing to return payment a shady practice. An upfront honest business would disclose this and provide a checkbox for you to agree to these terms before they collect your money. They basically twist your arm into signing to the terms and conditions if they already have your money, but refuse your stay and refused to refund in full if you won't sign.

GuideWe stayed in the month of November. It was cold and rainy but the park did not disappoint. The bathrooms as so clean. The park itself is gated and secure. Each shower has its own toilet and vanity behind a lockable door. Our campsite (532) was a little awkward to get in because of the corner and the speed bumps, but not impossible. There is a pond with a fountain and a HUGE fireplace (not fire pit) for relaxing. We will definitely be back.
RangerThe park was very clean with four bathroom/shower rooms and laundry room as well. We visited in November and it was quiet with a nice view of the water. The park also has a gate with a code needed to enter.
TravelerWe stayed here in November so didn’t have any bug problems. It is a new park and very well laid out. The sites are large and easy to pull in and out. They don’t have any extras like clubhouses so you can tell they don’t cater to snowbirds. But it is convenient to heading up to Dallas or south to Waco. The park has a man made lake with jogging trails. We enjoyed our stay.

The gate entrance attendant is rude and unhelpful. No sewer hook ups at site (E loop) so “community” dumping is necessary. The community dump is run down too with broken equipment and bent connections. Finally, for the camp charges $10/car/day. We have a drivable RV and rented a car so not only did we pay for the site but then paid more to have our car. Not going to stay here again. After dealing with E loop for a couple days we requested to move to A loop. A loop was much better but we were charged $20/day for the “upgrade”. A loop bath house was definitely better but still unimpressive. Office staff was friendlier and helpful (not gate employee).

TravelerThis city run park is one of our favorites, and only minutes from our home. All sites are paved, several are lake front, and the majority of them are well shaded. We camp here often - by ourselves, and with friends. Beach area and playgrounds are great, although you do have quite a few "day users." The park also has a boat ramp.
