Pro’s: The back-in and full time sites have ample space for those looking for a longer stay, but the pull through a usually aren’t full so they provide decent space as well. Activities everywhere! There are pavilions and out buildings setup with games, hammocks, and all kinds of fun family-friendly things to see and do.
Cons: The grounds were “under construction” while we were there so there was occasionally some tractor/dozer noise. Some sites were unavailable due to them being revamped.
Collectively it was a very good experience. The staff was very friendly, and even put us in a nice long term stay when there was a booking error, so we ended up with a huge spot near the creek. I only take off a star due to spacing of the sites, but I would stay here again.
GuideThis RV park was still heavily under construction while we were there. In fact, I believe we were the first people to stay in our spot, a premium pull through. The playground was in the process of being completed and the game room wasn't functional yet but you can tell the owners are investing a lot of time and money!
The concrete pad was within 1/4" of level and even had two sewer connections. Included in the premium site was a nice picnic table and a smaller two person table, fire pit, and nice large marble lighting.

TravelerWe stayed at River Road RV Park and Horse Camp and had a great experience. It’s a quiet, no-frills spot on a working farm—perfect if you're looking for a place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring. The sites were level and clean, with both pull-through and back-in options. Full hookups were available, and there’s a small laundry area with a shower and bathroom. Roads are a little narrow, but manageable. This isn’t a resort, and amenities are minimal(a swing set for kids, no pool or clubhouse), but that’s part of the charm. Pam, the owner, is incredibly kind and helpful—she brought us firewood and checked in often. Her camp dog, Charlie, was a sweet and playful companion to our older dog. Many of the other campers are long-term residents working nearby, and everyone we met was friendly and helpful. It felt safe, grounded, and community-oriented. There’s some wildlife to enjoy—rabbits, birds, squirrels—and even a couple of mini ponies in the pasture. One thing to note: there is a train track nearby. It didn’t bother us, but light sleepers might want to bring earplugs just in case. The best part is the location. Duck River is just 5 minutes away, and Henry Horton State Park is close by—great for fishing, hiking, or kayaking. If you want a peaceful basecamp with kind people and good access to outdoor adventure, this is a great spot to park and stay.
GuideI have a large motorhome and pulling a long enclosed trailer. Called in to book a one-night stay to confirm which spot is best for my length and easy to get around, the rep said spot 50 was best (our phone conversation kept cutting out so I opted to book online). The website was very easy and modern to use and I paid $66 for the recommended spot that had a picnic table and string lights (as well as 50 amp, water, sewage). The rep said to follow the texted directions instead of gps because gps route is not rv-friendly, that was such a joke. The “rv friendly directions” included an 8 mile hilly and windy road that turned into dirt halfway through with LOTS of potholes, quick turns, and SKINNY roadways. Driving in a night was very sketchy and then leaving in the morning was worse to finally see the area I was staying in, was not quite family-friendly. It made sense why DoorDash and Uber eats did not service the area. The nice string lights I paid for did not work. The paved pad for my spot barely fit my RV and made my trailer bottom out and scratch when pulling out. The turns around the park were big rig friendly once in but not so much going out. Will not be visiting again. I guess my only plus was the dumpster open for use.
GuideStayed at campground 1 site 20 and was very pleased! Very clean and well maintained! We tent camped and I like the concrete pad because didn’t have to worry about things getting wet from the ground. Has a 20 and 30 amp electric hook up and water beside. Nice fire pit and table also! Site 20 is located right beside shoal creek and with in walking distance to the restrooms and bathhouse!
RangerBasically there are two sections to this park. The newer section is very big rig orientated. Having been rebuilt due to hurricane, wide roomy sites well spaced, but not a tree in site. All sites both old & new are full hook up. The older section is very, very tight and not a one very level. The older section is fully treed, which makes things even tighter.
Good ATT & Verizon cell service. No wifi in campgrounds Not my first choice, bu it worked.
LegendOur GPS brought us right into the campground (CG) that is conveniently located off I-65 and US-31. Check in was pleasant and quick. They take cash or check.We were assigned pull through site D-1(water and electric 50/30/20 AMP) behind the office. The advantage of this site, is that it has a yard area as the other sites do not. This is a bare bones CG with no amenities. Most of the sites have FHUs. The pad was plenty long enough for our 40’ fifth wheel and F450 plus fairly level. However, if you unhook and leave, you have a long, slightly curved road to back up on to get back in position to hook your rig up unless the site next to you is empty. The utilities are in the middle of the pad and you can maneuver to suit your needs. Water pressure was good at 50 psi and we got 4 bars on Verizon. There’s no Wifi here but due to this CG being a parking lot, no issues with satellite. Like other reviewers stated, there’s a deep ditch on either side of the driveway when you pull in, so keep an eye on how your rig tracks. This CG filled up the Saturday to Sunday we overnighted and we were assigned one of the few water and electric only sites, but were still charged$45 same as the FHU sites? Overall, this CG worked for our needs.
