This KOA is in a really convenient location near downtown Nashville! They have tons of amenities (shower, hot tub, pool, etc) so it’s not exactly backcountry camping if that’s more your thing. But they have a shuttle for $10 that runs round trip every hour to downtown Nashville, which is a must have if you want to save money on Ubers!
GuideThe campground has a variety of sites from deluxe paved pull through with patios to back-in full hookups to tent sites. We stayed in the back-in sites side of the campground. The sites were close together(but not on-top of each other) and many were long enough to handle most average sized rigs. These sites were gravel with grass between, which was well maintained. 50& 30 amp service available. Very flat with minimal leveling needed. The wifi was spotty when the campground was full on the weekends.
The bathhouses have individual shower access with separate toilet facilities. These were clean and well maintained. The entire campground was very well maintained and landscaped beautifully, which created a welcoming feeling.
There are numerous amenities: pool, hot tub, playground, pickle ball, corn hole, etc. Live music is offered at the pool area a couple nights a week in addition to movies. The camp store is small, with limited selection, but it is attached to a nice size indoor rec room and restaurant/snack bar. A Camping World Store is also right next door to the campground, which is very convenient.
A shuttle service is offered daily from 10:00AM-1:30AM between the KOA and downtown Nashville at the Country Music Hall of Fame. The cost is$10 round trip per person. The staff were very friendly and willing to help with any issues and questions. We enjoyed our stay and found the price($68) reasonable for the great location and amenities offered.

South of Nashville, Tn 31A runs right through the middle of the actual park.
Duck River runs through the park and is a main focus of the entertainment with rental places picking up tubers from on the road into the tent area. (Yes, I received several dirty looks for driving on the road toward the tent area.) I parked in the restroom area as the road was completely blocked with children, inner tubes and adults.
The tent area had BIG sites that would easily fit several tents and trees for hammocks. There are 10 sites. The river was at the rear of the tent area as well as a trail Adeline Wilhoite River trail that followed the river. There are also primitive campsites available if your backpacking through located near the observation deck on the Adeline Wilhoite River trail loop.
The bathhouse is newer and well kept. There is a playground in the middle of the campground area, in front of the visitors office. ( pretty awesome looking sandpit)
The RV area is adjacent through the woods it has 56 sites. The sites looked adequate, but from what I saw they were close together. There may have been more space further in.
There is an Inn and cabins available also on the other side of the park/river.
We enjoyed the trails , just gotta say BUG SPRAY :) Keep your eyes open for critters and there are bikers using several of the trails.Wilhoite Mill Trail is one of the features of the park, which leads to a historic mill.
So pack your banjo and yak and git on out to Henry Horton State Park for a good ole time !

ScoutNice campground located on the Duck River in a TN state park. Enjoyed walking along the river. It is not secluded and is right off a local highway but has many conveniences. Across the street is the main park area with nice amenities -- kids playground, pool, disc golf, camp store, golf course and newly renovated park restaurant & visitor's center. Everyone that I came into contact with was friendly and helpful. It is a great place to relax but you still have many things to do.

The campsite had enough trees for 3 of us to hammock camp and the trees provided plenty of shade, which is nice!! We also we're able to fit 2 tents in our site as well with plenty of space left for activities :) The site was near the Duck River so we were able to see it from our campsite and you could hear it, too!
This park has some good hiking trails that are not that hard. Easy enough to take your kids on if you have any.

First of all, clearly there are many great reviews listed for this business on Google, but it seems to be the majority are simply reviews on the kayak rental and floating experience or camping in tents and RVs. My review is specifically in regards to renting a cabin with them and the customer service(or lack there of) they portrayed when faced with my complaint. DO NOT STAY IN THEIR CABINS! Upon our arrival on Friday night, I pulled back the covers to replace with the blanket we brought and immediately noticed what appeared to be a dead bug. I began looking closer and pulling back the sheets. I found several different casings of a bug that per google could be bedbugs but could be another bug. I tried to not be paranoid. I decided to take photos along the way just in case. Keep in mind, there were 5 fitted sheets, and 2 mattress covers on this ONE bed. Why? It seemed like they were trying to cover up an issue in my opinion. I put a fitted sheet we brought over theirs and we used our blanket that night. We spent the next day on the river, and I will be clear and honest, the experience on the river is great and we have zero complaints. Upon returning to the cabin(this was cabin#1 by the way) I decided to lay down in the bed under our blanket. At this point, I already had a couple bumps on my upper arm that were itching terribly. I have a tattoo right there so I couldn’t really see the irritation, but it did itch really badly. I tried to tell myself it was mosquitoes from being on the river. Then, I saw another couple of bugs and the end result was we just could not sleep there another night with what we had seen and feared. We cleaned everything up and drove home late that night. I purposely left our luggage and the sheet and blanket in the vehicle that night. The next day(Sunday) I brought it all into the house and washed it and dried it on high heat. By Tuesday evening, I had several more bumps trickling down my arm in a line and by Saturday morning I woke up with bumps all the way down my hand, and a few sporadic ones on my leg, neck, and face. I went to the doctors that next Monday and they confirmed IT WAS BEDBUG BITES. They put me on a weeks worth of steroids after giving me a steroid shot in the office and gave me a medicated cream for the intense itching I was experiencing. I immediately called a pest control company and had 2 out within 3 days. Both companies confirmed the pictures I have are 100% BEDBUGS AND MY BITES ARE ABSOLUTELY BEDBUG BITES. I know these situations can get out of control quickly and the last thing I wanted was for my kids to go through this discomfort so I decided to reach out to Carol at Buffalo River Resort by email and very respectfully explain what happened and what’s come of it. I included pictures and followed up with the estimates I had gotten as well as the report from my doctor. We have 4 children in our home and just lost my mother-in-law unexpectedly and have faced unexpected financial challenges, so we are in no position to financially cover this issue, however, this is not something to be ignored. I received a response the next day(Tuesday) saying they are sorry and they will get this to the owner. I have followed up 3x since then and have not heard a word from them. We did, however, get the cost of our cabin refunded back to our credit card yesterday. I sent one last email this morning giving them until 2 PM to reach out to me and resolve this issue in the right way, which is to rid our home and family of this issue, not return what we paid for the cabin. There is a substantial price difference-$500 vs$2,000- which we can’t afford. We also cannot afford for this to trickle through our whole home and affect all 4 of our kids. One is already affected. The level of discomfort, irritation and lack of sleep I have had since this has been extreme. But the disappointment I feel from a“family owned” company handling theirselves this way is even more triggering to me. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE& DO NOT SLEEP IN THESE CABINS!! There are plenty of other places to float the Buffalo.

We camped in campground #2 in lot 85, my sister camped in 84 right beside us and my parents rented a cabin. It was super nice, campsites were very nice, bathrooms and showers were clean, the cabin was very nice and enough room for 8 people. The camp host was very nice and helpful, the waterfalls were gorgeous! They recently opened Crockett Tubing we had so much fun the whole family got to go! We will definitely continue this 4th of July family tradition!!!!

Even though this campsite is just off the highway, it is still pretty quiet. They have a shuttle to take you down town, but you have to call and let them know you want to go. $10.00 per person which is reasonable. Lots to do in Nashville!

This place is run down full of none members. Looks like a run down trailer park sheds over camper washer and dryers in storage building loud ATV people making this there prememant resident,s cabins are rented out to monthly residents just a junk yard

I love Loretta Lynn's! Lots of options for all types of camping. They have equestrian spots, RV spots, tent spots, and cabins for rent. Plus so much to do on the property! Can get busy on holiday weekends when the weather is nice or if they are doing any events there! Otherwise you can easily find a spot here!
RangerThis KOA is the best I’ve stayed at yet! Easy access from highway, but far enough in that there is no highway noise. Full hook ups and cabins. Bathrooms and laundry are impeccable! Pool is great size and beautiful lawn chairs and pool toys to use. Gravel sites well maintained. Lots of trees. Beautiful eating area, restaurant. Shuttle service available for a fee.
LegendFor several months while living in TN, we spent almost every weekend at Henry Horton State Park. It’s not quite an hour from Nashville. We always got a primitive site, shady site. I was never disappointed by any of our sites and never felt cramped or too close to other campers.
HH has RV sites, cabins, “hammock sites,” and a large group site. They also have a camp store, firewood, and restrooms. Rates are pretty standard. Backcountry primitive hike-in sites are $8.
Interactive heritage festivals and other activities frequently came to the center across the street. I don’t really recall if this is part of the park or not.
TravelerVery beautiful place ! Cabins are spacious clean and furnished ! Dishes to use and pots and pans ! Even shower towels ! ! Right by the water and last minute reservations ! There’s Lots of stuff to find yourself doing to relaxing by the water to playing bingo at the hall ! To renting a kayak or pontoon ! Has dog park and swimming pool and beach area ! Has laundry rooms and bath n shower houses heck ya ! Rec center was closed due under construction put you can shoot pool and lounge around play foosballs and air hockey ! Movie theater ! But volley balls an racket ball n swimming pool at the rec center was closed but front pool was open ! Great place most definitely need to be a member for yearly round visits !!!

In this area there are not a lot of camping areas. When searching for something to put you close to the Natchez Trace you have basically two options one considered to be dry camping and this one which is improved camping equipped for primitive tent campers, RVs or those wanting a cabin get away.
I chose to explore this campsite because of its location and proximity to so many hiking areas including the Jackson Falls and Falls Hollow which is a pretty iconic stops along the Trace. I liked that this campground had more than one tent camping zone for you to select: deep woods, field or beach all for only $10 a person or $20 for a family of four. Pretty nice to have the primitive camping feeling with the nearby access to amenities such as a bathhouse , pavilion and restaurant.
I chose to check out the beach camping which places you right on the Big Swan River in several separate areas. You really have some of the best views and nicest places to sleep right here along the bends as you can hear the water trickling. It is pretty amazing.
I chose to be closer to the river itself than the Falls Hollow Falls, it wasn't flowing very much when I was visiting according to the clerk who checked me in and they opted that Jackson would probably be a better bet for seeing a falls flowing. It too was a little less than I had hoped but understandable considering that they are fed by mountain streams and not some of the larger sources many of the other falls I have seen have been. Still great for hiking!
Temps by the water were a bit cooler than the RV sites which seemed much more exposed to the elements. But there also were a lot of mosquitoes so I would recommend coming prepared with some bug spray.
TIPS:
ScoutUgh, I hate to write bad reviews...but this was, to us, such a bad experience, from what I call deceptive pricing, to location within camp, no signage/direction locators, crowding, safety issues, and more. 1) Our"delux" cabin was located/surrounded in a row filled with BIG RVs. 2) There was no signage/location indicators at the dark row corners or roads within park. It is even hard to identify what are actually road at night so finding it at night amongst the HUGH RVs was horrific! 3) There was no sidewalks or places to walk except on the one lane roads...this is unsafe for kids, especially if you have to go out at night. 4) The"Deluxe" cabin is small, but tha bathtub is REALLY small. More of a small kids tub. 5) Air conditioner is across from foot of bed. The grid on the front of ours was broken, so the air came straight at us on bed, made the bed sheets feel moist and uncomfortable to sleep on. 6) Sun shines in from window above tub into room blinding you, we had to stuff a towel over it. 7) Crowding. Spaces are small, so there are BIG RVs boxing you in everywhere. 8) Floor tiles are warped on edges, you can tell animals have went to the bathroom on them. 9) Floor was dirty (room itself was clean and looked good and so was the bed sheets) 10) Pricing, to me, was deceptive, see my receipt. In making the reservation online, I put 2 adults and 2 pets. It came up$182.69 as a total and I paid that. There is a note that other charges for"additional" adults, pets, etc may apply. It says"additional" not that they don't charge you for your pets until you get there. So I had to pay an additional $58...making my total for the night almost $250. Would never stay again!
GuideI've grown up going to Montgomery Bell State Park and have been camping there for 23 years. The campground has water and electric hookups, space for RVs, and bathrooms with showers.
The campground is adjacent to a creek and a baseball diamond. In addition to these features, the park offers a lake for boating as well as a roped off swimming area and man-made beach. Next to the lake is the park lodge which includes a restaurant, meeting rooms, and a swimming pool. The lake also has a picnic pavilion with restrooms.
The park was built on an historic home site so there is an old chapel (which still has services) and an old log home as well as a small family cemetery. There are also a number of hiking trails, a suspension bridge, and very nice, modern cabins available to rent.

Many improvements have been made since last year. The pull thru sites have been widened and are more accommodating for larger RVs. They are working on adding a few more pull thru sites as well. The sites are gravel and mostly level. All sites are FHU. They do offer short term monthly rates which are back in sites that have a little more room. There are 4 rustic cabins available, and the bathhouses are reserved currently for those guests only due to COVID. The laundry room is only open Fri-Sun. There are no fire rings on the sites, but you can rent a fire pit with a screen. There are also community fire pits for everyone to enjoy. There is a playground, hammock hut, and game area for the kids to stay entertained. The owners, managers, and staff are all great and you can see the hard work they are putting in to continue to upgrade this campground.
ScoutArea is beautiful but sites were close together and the ground outside of my trailer was very unusable, all hill and large rocks. No way to spend time outside of the camper. After I leveled it the bottom of the front steps had a 2 foot drop and the rear were on the ground. The slope made the sewage hook up a nightmare. Verizon had spotty signal at best. My buddy and i tried to reserve a spots based off of a campsite map prior to going but when I showed we were put in different spots. Apparently the drive way for the cabin was also a spot and thew off the maps numbering... they only refunded us 1 "pick your spot price" since we were close enough. The area has great potential but just needs TLC and effort. Never checked out the showers and such but the store was nice and staff was friendly. I will say TMMR was a blast and I'll be back but for the money spent on a campsite, a 40ft toyhauler shouldn't have to be rigged into a site at a rally.
