Sheps Canyon Recreation Area

Sheps Canyon Recreation Area is located on the shores of Angostura Reservoir in southwestern South Dakota. The campground can be accessed via Highway 71 near Hot Springs. From Hot Springs, follow signs toward Angostura Recreation Area, but continue to Sheps Canyon which is situated in a less developed section of the reservoir. The campground is approximately 15 miles from Hot Springs. Sheps Canyon Recreation Area offers well-maintained facilities including modern bathhouses with shower/toilet combination cubicles plus additional vault toilets throughout the grounds.
