Pleasant staff, centrally located to area attractions

Nice layout. FHU at $32 + tax is reasonable for area. 3 or 4 miles north of Custer SD

Laundry available Showers also - probably for tent sites

Fairly close to highway-but by sleep time there was not much activity

Did not use facilities. Did not use their WiFi nor deploy Starlink as Verizon coverage is excellent

Perfect

We stayed for several months as we explored the Bkack Hills. Laundry and bathrooms were clean and the peeps were very nice. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location

I gave this campground 3 stars only because campers are right on top of each other. Very close to Custer. Can see Crazy horse from site. George Mickelson bike trail right near camp. Laundry, showers nice. Wi-Fi.

Awesome Hosts!

I cannot appreciate how kind and laid back the hosts were here! So far on my newbies camping trip, they were the best hosts I've met. (Specially Linda and her husband) Great price (we paid $18 per night for the tent site), location was perfect to visit the wind cave, jewel cave, Custer state park, Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore, etc. Bathroom/shower was super clean too!

Nice and friendly

I was able to get a last minute tent camping site on a weekend when every other campground in the area was full. I called and since the office would be closed when I arrived, he said to just pick an open site and pay in the morning...Where else are you going to get that kind of friendliness? Other than that the camp and facilities are well maintained and clean showers, laundry room, etc. Some noise from the highway, but I'm guessing a lot of other places in the area are similar. Like others say, you can see Crazy Horse monument from the camp and the light display at night, which is kinda cool.

Great amenities and Crazy Horse View!

This is a fantastic all around campsite. We were the only tent campers (end of the season), but the RV sites were full. The best thing about it is the view of Crazy Horse from just about anywhere in the campground. The Lazer light show at night during summer months is visible with or without binoculars. There are clean bathrooms, showers, laundry, basketball, and a camp store. On top of that there is a horse ranch right next door and I was woken up every sunrise by beautiful horses galloping down the field into their stables. Everyone that works here is super nice and it’s operated by the Crazy Horse Heritage Foundation so you’re supporting a good, culturally enriching cause. Sunrise and sunset are highlights here and you have black hills vistas all around you. Will stay here again. One caution for tent campers is there isn’t much shade with just a stray few trees so bring a tarp...

Location, location, location!

This campground is operated by the Crazy Horse Foundation and is located just down the road from the Monument. I could watch the Monument laser light show at night from my campsite here, with binoculars! I rode my bike to the monument and saved the parking fee. Got in for $1.

The location was perfect for me. The campground is adjacent to the Michelson Bike Trail with direct access down the hill through a gate. Michelson is a beautiful rails to trails project. The campground is also literally next to the Crazy Horse Monument and only a few miles from the town of Custer as well as close to all the other Black Hills attractions.

The staff are friendly and everything is clean and well kept. Gravel roads in are good, but the wooden bridge over the bike trail from Hwy 385 gave me pause. I was wondering what the weight limit might be... The laundry room was excellent. $2 per wash and per dry as I recall. Nice pine trees for shade, a fire pit and picnic table are provided for each site and FHU's.

The only minor quibble perhaps is that sites are close together, at least where I was parked and the tradeoff for easy access  is highway noise.

The good: great wifi and for full hookups $27.50/night was a steal after paying much higher prices for less services at other stops along the way. There are stables next door too if you want to ride. So much to do in this area.

This is a great home base! I’ll definitely return.

Gorgeous Site Near Rushmore

$21. Green, wildlife nearby, nice and spread-out. Owner is friendly and checks on you, and there’s a beautiful hike right next to you by a little lake. It’s a 26 minute drive from Rushmore. Showers and toilets are great.

Nice Spot

We found this place after we couldn’t get the dispersed camping thing processed in our brains!

RV friendly as well as tent friendly. There are hot showers and clean bathrooms. The wife saw a laundry facility on property. They have a small pantry in the office Incase you find yourself needing something. You can tell the property is well maintained.

I gave 4/5 stars due to the close proximity to the main road. At night there really isn’t much traffic. However in the morning we woke up to the sound of constant vehicles.

We would definitely come back though!
