Several RV campgrounds surround Warrenville, South Carolina, with options ranging from big-rig-friendly parks with full hookups to smaller sites suited for travel trailers. Aiken RV Park provides big-rig friendly sites with full hookups including 50-amp electrical service, while Sandy Oak RV Park features spacious pull-through sites with water, electric, and sewer connections. Just a short drive away, Barnyard RV Park in Lexington accommodates larger RVs with level pull-through sites and complete hookup options. Heritage RV Park in Augusta, Georgia, approximately 30 minutes from Warrenville, maintains gravel sites with full hookups and concrete patios. "The sites are level and was a pull through with 30 and 50 amp plugs," noted one RV camper about a nearby Corps of Engineers campground, highlighting the region's accessibility for various RV sizes.

Seasonal availability varies across the area's RV campgrounds, with most parks open year-round. Pine Acres Campground operates throughout all seasons but lacks big-rig accommodation, making it better suited for smaller motorhomes and travel trailers. Cell service quality fluctuates between parks - some travelers report excellent connectivity while others mention dead zones requiring external boosters. Pet policies are generally accommodating, with most RV parks welcoming four-legged companions. Dump stations are available at most locations, though Plum Branch RV Park notably lacks this amenity despite offering sewer hookups at individual sites. During peak travel periods, particularly in spring and fall, advance reservations are strongly recommended as the Augusta-Aiken corridor attracts significant RV traffic.

      Mistletoe State Park Campground

Gorgeous and Tranquil in the Woods

This place was so perfect and our first camping experience with our new 40 foot RV! Check-in was easy and they even let us change to a pull-through site last minute. The grounds were sooooo gorgeous! Trees everywhere. Walking trails. And of course the lake. We went during fall colors so it was really magical.

PROS: Clean restrooms, spacious RV sites (they felt very private), many bathhouses within walking distance, friendly staff, nice gift shop

CONS: wet firewood and of course you had to buy from them, playground very small- made more for toddlers/preschool age, less than 5 years old, long walk to the dumpsters

Petersburg - J Strom Thurmond Lake

      Beautiful campsites

This campground has magnificent views, spacious sites, picnic tables, firepits, power (30 and 50 amp) and water hookups, dump station, bathrooms, and groomed swimming area.

The site (21) was very easy to pull through and had a wonderful view of the lake. I had to try to see my neighbors at the next site because the foliage separated the sites well. I saw a grounds person actively maintaining the empty sites which explains how well kept this campground is. The access roads are well kept.

      Very nice place !

This place has some great sites. Our site was #25. It was a pull through with 30 and 50 amp plugs. It’s a level lot with a grill, fire ring, picnic table and another small table. It’s right on the lake. There is a retaining wall at the water so it’s about a 3” step to the water. We plan to bring a sep ladder next time. Beautiful place to spend your time camping.

      Hamilton Branch State Park Campground

Great spacious site on the water, lots of privacy

We arrived at last light, and I am glad that we had daylight while we backed in. Lovely site, spacious. Sites 98 & 99  T off the connector road. Layout it such that your RV is parallel to the road, overlooking the water which is 80- 100 feet away. Your neighbors are a fair distance away, but your head and tail of the RV points to them- so once inside you're not even aware of them. We are 30 foot fifth wheel with F250, and i imagine the back-in would have been more challenging if 99 was occupied.  Nice family oriented park. Water and electric all good, dump station on way out.

Did not use facilities, but apparently showers and toilets are a little drive away.

Wood: We drove out of the park, turned left and found an honor-system wood kiosk on parallel road - just over the railroad tracks. $5 for a small bundle, but it was worth it to us.

      Leveling was not an issue.

Hosts keep site nice and clean,

Data: Visible worked great (25 mbs up & down, so no need to break out hotspots, Starlink etc

      Aiken State Park Campground

      Amazing Find!

We stayed over on our way to Charleston, SC. We booked it online. We had no hookeups, but water and a dump station is available. There are hiking trails, canoeing, and fishing. The ranger was super friendly and they are pet friendly. We had to switch sites when we arrived due to a space issue. We have a 32’ RV and the site stated a max of 35’ but there was a tent pad that would have interfered with us being level. We were allowed to switch with no issues.

      Boss RV Park

      A very nice campground

The sites are mostly gravel with areas of dirt, but mine was level. I was near the bath house and laundry which were both clean and well maintained. The population looks like a mix of mostly long-term residents, with a few mid to short-term. It is a full hookup facility, and all my connections worked well.

Petersburg - J Strom Thurmond Lake

Another great COE campground We love this place

This time we’re in site 7-first time in this loop. Backing in took a few minutes, not the simplest but achievable for our 30 ft fifth wheel. Campsite excellent- electric & water, plenty big site-fire ring and picnic table

Also love trail from here to dam wall - did a bit of bush trail cycling. Awesome

    Guide to Warrenville

Warrenville, South Carolina offers several camping options within the surrounding Aiken and Augusta area. Located in the western portion of South Carolina's Upper Coastal Plain region, the area experiences mild winters with occasional freezing temperatures and hot, humid summers where daytime highs can reach 90°F. Many campgrounds remain accessible year-round due to the temperate climate, though summer visitors should prepare for afternoon thunderstorms.

    What to Do

Fishing opportunities: Pointes West Army Resort provides access to Clarks Hill Lake, where campers can enjoy shoreline fishing. "Our dogs loved the water, and the view during sunset was great," notes Bobby J., highlighting the pleasant waterfront experience.

Local exploration: Visit downtown Augusta's canal area, located approximately 30 minutes from Warrenville. "There is a nice walking path by the canal downtown where you may see some urban wildlife," shares Nancy W., who stayed at Heritage RV Park and recommends the narrated canal boat tour.

Military history: Fort Gordon's U.S. Army Signal Corps Museum offers an educational outing for history buffs camping in the area. Nancy W. found it "very interesting" while staying near Augusta, mentioning it provides context about the region's military significance.

    What Campers Like

Clean facilities: Multiple campgrounds maintain well-kept bathhouses and common areas. Joel R. at Barnyard RV Park notes, "Showers and bathrooms were clean and very nice. Good water pressure," an important consideration for tent campers or those preferring campground facilities.

Convenient locations: Many RV parks provide strategic positioning near highways and amenities. "Perfect location. Far enough away from base but close enough to everything," reports Sean N. about Barnyard RV Park, highlighting its accessibility to Fort Jackson while maintaining a comfortable distance.

Hospitable management: Sandy Oak RV Park receives praise for exceptional customer service. Nick & Allyssa S. describe their experience: "We called with very short notice looking for an overnight site. Though the campground was booked, the owners so graciously allowed us to park in the overflow parking which included water & electric."

    What You Should Know

Site conditions: Surface types vary significantly between parks. Dallas W. mentions Barnyard RV Park has "dirt sites: lots of water flowing through during rainy weather," suggesting proper preparation for wet conditions during storms.

Extended stay options: Several parks accommodate longer-term campers. Bob S. describes his multiple visits to Barnyard RV Park: "I have stayed at this park 3 or 4 times. I have always been made to feel at home," noting its peaceful atmosphere despite being within city limits.

    Tips for Camping with Families

Limited child-friendly amenities: Some RV parks near Warrenville lack dedicated playgrounds or recreational facilities. E.M. notes about Heritage RV Park: "There is nothing for kids to do here so be advised the gravel becomes a toy!"

Swimming options: Carolina Hill Mobile Home and RV Park offers a peaceful environment with walking paths. Bobbie S. mentions, "If you walk around the park four times, you have walked a mile," providing a defined activity for families.

Safety considerations: Young women travelers should research park demographics. Journey shared about Pine Acres Campground: "There's a lot of grown men living in the other sites, which did make us feel uncomfortable," though she appreciated management placing them near staff for security.

    Tips from RVers

Level site availability: Most parks offer relatively level sites with various surface materials. Joel R. notes about Barnyard RV Park: "Sites are big enough for most RVs. Mostly level, some have cement pads."

Hookup configurations: Pay attention to utility setup details when booking. Kevin H. observed at Plum Branch RV Park: "Sewer pipes stick out a good 6 or 8 inches. Electric posts are new but have a meter right below plugs, so surge suppressor gets to hang sideways."

Traffic noise: Some rv parks near Warrenville, South Carolina sit close to busy roads. Leigh C. advises about Aiken RV Park: "I would choose the sites farther from the road next time as traffic is pretty high in this road."
