Love Core of Engineer parks

There is a 5 mile twisty road that is east to navigate to get to the park. Check was a breeze with the friendly, courteous folks at the front gate. Finding our site was easy as they are all clearly marked. Easy walk down to the water, lovely breeze, quiet. We were close to the ADA bathhouse that was immaculate.

We will return

The roads leading here are quite comfortable for our 37' motorcoach as are the roads inside the grounds. This is a very well maintained USACOE facility. Our site (19) is quite large and very level (after the entry driveway): plenty of room for the coach and at least 2 other vehicles (we only have the coach - not towing) and it has 50/30 amp service and water. There's no sewer hookup... dump station only.

Most of the sites are quite spacious with views of the lake.

Fantastic Campground

Spent this past weekend at Ridge Road Campground. This is an amazing campground. The staff is wonderful. The entire campground is spotless, clean, and exceptionally well maintained. We were in site #67. All the sites are large and well spaced. Tons of trees and most sites are on right on the lake. The water is amazingly clear. If you look at my previous reviews, we’ve camped at many campgrounds around the Southeast this year and we have found that George State Parks and COE campgrounds are at the top of our list. Ridge Road is now in our top 5 overall. I highly recommend this campground if you like quiet, relaxation, kayaking, fishing, or boating in general.

Large sites

These sites are all good sized lots and not on top of each other. Amenities are clean, but could use another bath house or two. Beautiful views of the easily accessible lake, a boat ramp and a park all round out this nice little getaway spot. Highly recommended.

Great campground!

Nice roomy sites with plenty of space between. Picnic tables, grills and fire rings at each campsite. Bathrooms aren’t bad. Friendly caretakers. Pets allowed. Playground and beaches. Fish cleaning station. Boat ramp. Dump station.
