With over 600 non-seasonal sites and direct beach access, Myrtle Beach Travel Park operates year-round as one of the larger RV-oriented parks on the South Carolina coast. Reservations are available and recommended, particularly for sites in the 200s row, which sit close enough to the dunes that campers can reach the water in under a minute on foot. The park caters primarily to large RVs, with nearly all sites configured as pull-throughs featuring full hookups including water, electric, and sewer. Vans and tent campers can stay here, but the setup skews heavily toward the RV crowd.
Site selection matters considerably at this park. Beach-adjacent spots have zero shade and are packed tightly together, which several reviewers flag as a real drawback. Sites near the main entry road sit closer to shade trees but also deal with more leaf debris, insects, and road noise. Sites that back up against the adjacent high-rise hotel, particularly in the B section, can face floodlights and service entrance activity through the night. Sarah S. describes site 210 as "really amazing spot which made our entire stay there," a useful data point for anyone requesting a specific location at check-in.
The amenities list is extensive. On-site rentals include golf carts, kayaks, paddle boats, bikes, scooters, and fishing rods. There is a pool, a well-stocked general store, laundry facilities, multiple bathhouses, and a putt-putt course. Cassandra R. notes the bathhouses are "spacious, clean, and well-maintained," though at least one reviewer mentions the lack of air conditioning affects the smell in warmer months. Cell service is strong across major carriers. The park lists WiFi, but at least one recent stay reported it non-functional.
The park enforces a notable number of rules covering both the campground and beach area, so reading those before arrival saves friction at check-in. Delivery services like DoorDash typically cannot enter the gate, requiring campers to meet drivers outside. For those exploring the broader region, Apache Family Campground is a nearby alternative worth comparing for site spacing and beach proximity. Campers planning a longer stay along the coast can also browse places to camp near North Myrtle Beach for additional options in the area. Book early for peak summer weeks, as the park fills quickly and preferred beach-side sites go fast.
