Excellent as a Stopover

Park is on a large reservoir. Lots off electric sites makes it a nice stopover day from our long road trip. Sites are large with adequate privacy. Bathroom is flush with sinks-just adequate. Only 2 showers per bath house, and they are subpar. Some short hikes in the park. Beautiful stars at night,…

Maybe not for Tenters?

Reception although very nice wasn’t very informative. Told me I could pick…. Well there was flooding for the day before and it was going to rain tomorrow sooooo I found out the hard way that Thetent sites are either close to the road or in flooding areas….The laundry and possibly bathrooms are…

The official Hershey Park Campground

This is a great campground right at Hershey Park. It had a free shuttle to the park and Chocolate World! Nice sites, but some are pretty close together. Right on a small creek. Most sites are in the shade. Cabins look nice. The arcade barn is a must see for the kids!

Fun but small

We love Knoebels and for anyone who has never been it is an amusement park in Elysburg, PA. It is in the mountains and fun for all ages. The best part is parking is free, park admission is free, tickets are reusable and never expire. So you can walk around and only pay for the rides you want to go…

Great little campground

I’ve stayed here twice for camping trips. It’s a great small campground that has basic amenities. The experience is likely highly site dependent, as there are a few distinct areas to stay depending on your needs and luck. There is NO cell service and park rangers do “rounds” but aren’t stationed at…

  • Hike to overlooks from the campsite
  • The central loop of sites is on the creek but has very little privacy from neighbors.
  • Many of the RV (dog-allowed) loop sites are large and private.

Motorized Campsite

Overall Bald Eagle State Forest was an amazing location and beautiful place to explore. We had an amazing stay, and the trails were tons of fun to drive. The only downside of our campsite was that it was listed as “motorized”. These sites are advertised as drive-up and occupy your vehicle sites,…

Beautiful state park

We liked it so much we stayed another night. Quiet, wooded spots, with a very nice bathhouse, and good trails nearby. We would stay again.

Beautiful River View

We stayed at a Susquehanna river view site with full hookups for 2 nights. Site was level and shaded, but very close to neighbors. Most sites were occupied by permanent or seasonal residents. Bathrooms and grounds were very clean. Rates are reasonable for what you get, and they offer discounts. We…

Labor Day 2021

Arrived just after Hurricane Ida however, staff was friendly. Campground was working hard to get it back from the storm damage. Enjoyed our weekend and would definitely stay here again.

No COVID-19 Precautions in 2020 and Tight Spaces

We took a chance in September 2020 and decided to make plans to camp for two nights so we could get some hiking in nearby at the Pine Grove Furnace State Park. You're greeted by a sign on the front office door that says "Masks are optional," so that tells you all you need to know about camping here…

Great people!

We went to Little Buffalo State Park for Labor Day weekend and had a blast! Great neighbors, lots of kids to play with, good playground and very clean facilities (cleaned daily). The driving path is gravel with a steep hill at the end so if you can help it I would avoid sites 32,34,36 as they are…

Small but great

Love this place. Staff is helpful and friendly. They nice level sites with great atmosphere. Campground is connected to the Swatara Rail trial which is great for biking. The Swatara creek runs right next to it so it is great for kayaking, tubing, etc. Highly recommend.

Resort Perks, No privacy, & Small Spaces

Great because they give you the extra perk of additional time at the park as a resort guest. Camp store is clean. Unfortunately, spaces are small so be prepared to literally be on top of your neighbor

Nice campground with a beach!

Lovely area with many shaded spots. Electric hookup but no sewer or water hookups. The bath house is extremely clean and they have warm showers which was nice. We didn't realize there would be no service so I didn't research hikes before we left. We did take the hunter's path, off the beach parking…
