Friendly, and Clean

I took my grandkids to Buttonwood on August 1st. Thru 4th. 2022. We stayed in their rustic cabin. The cabin was nice and clean. Bathrooms were really clean and had really nice showers. Lots for the kids to do. My grandkids had a blast. My granddaughter said Buttonwood is the best campground. They have, nice pool , miniature golf, laser tag, places to fish, it’s just a friendly and beautiful atmosphere.Would go back. I would recommend Buttonwood to anyone who’s looking for a nice place to camp.

Awesome Campground

This was an awesome campground! There are two sides to the campground with a street that divides the two sides. One is along the River and the other is situated near the camp store, playground and pool. This campground had it all! There was laser tag, playground, jump pillow, pedal carts! There was even something for the parents! They have a wine barn on site with different beverages including wine slushes! Ver well taken care of campground. Our site backed up to the river which they also have tubing as well!

Buttonwood Campground

Very nice family owned and operated campground. On the banks of the Juniata River, excellent kayaking or tubing opportunities. The campground is beautifully landscaped, level stone sites and recently remodeled bathrooms.

For the first time being there.

You can't ask for a nicer group of people working there. Everything is clean and there's a ton of activities for the kids. I would definitely come back!

Beautiful Campground

Clean and well kept campground located 12 mile below Lewistown, Pa. As clean a campground as you will find. Staff is super friendly. Campground has two distinct levels with open spaces with few trees above and well shaded spots with large trees for shade located down along Juniata River. Great place for fishing, tubing or just getting wet. Campground has many activities for kids. On site is a pool, winery, dog park, office/supplies located in center of campground. WiFi is available to all. Nearly all full hook-ups with back-ins and pull-thrus available. Pets allowed. 42 mile South from State College and 48 mile North of Harrisburg on Rt 322. Highly recommend!

Very Nice RV Park

Very nice campground with a lot of amenities for kids. Pool, bounce pillow, mini golf, and tubing down the river. You can purchase a wrist band that gets you unlimited access for $20.

Not as rustic as other places or a state park, but still a very enjoyable weekend trip. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. For being a large campground with a lot of kids, it was pretty quiet during the evening hours.

Bath houses were clean and private which was a nice plus.

Most sites have electric water and cable hookup.

Will definitely be back.

Fun place, tubing is great!

This campground is very fun. Campground is clean and very well maintained. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Tubing down the river is so fun and the highlight of a stay here. Campground does have a wristband system for most activities and amenites, with the exception of pool and playgrounds.
The pool area is nice, safe and clean. There is on site wine and wine slushies to purchase from a local vineyard.

LOVE IT

Absolutely the best place! We have gone the past 3-4 years! Kids love it! Floating down the river is the best part! So much to do!

excellent super friendly family campground

we stayed at buttonwood for the first time the end of August. probably the friendliest campground I’ve stayed out. when you arrive you are met by a staff member on a golf cart that takes you to your campsite. he helped us back in and get level and offered to bring us ice or wood if we needed it. from there it was “take your time and head down to the office when you are ready to check in”. there is tons to do for the kids. ours really enjoyed the bounce pillow, laser tag and peddle cars the most. there is also a small pool and nice canopies around the pool to sit under. my wife’s favorite part was the wine bar on site with local made wine and wine slushees!

the campground is divided by a local road and has 2 different feels. the lower section is right by the river with several riverfront sites and many river view sites. the upper side has the playground and kids activities and feels more set out in the country.

only downsides I can say about this campground are the sites are small. we where on the upper side and it felt more like tailgating than camping but everyone was super friendly. also plan on spending $20 per person for an activity wristband that includes all the extras including mini golf and tubing shuttle.

A little piece of heaven

This was the first time staying here and definitely won't be my last. It all starts when you first pull up. There are people on golf carts to take you to your site. They then help you back your rig in. They were so friendly and will even give you rides to where you need to go in the campground. Plenty of things to do there also. You wont br disappointed in your stay.

Family Fun along the River!

This was our second stay at Buttonwood and both times we have had a fun and enjoyable stay! The campground's landscaping is welcoming with beautiful gardens and flower arrangements throughout. Buttonwood is actually divided in to two sections with the upper lot, which is near all the activities and pool; and the lower area, which is near the Juniata River.

During our visit, we found the staff to be friendly, helpful, and taking pride in the campground. Upon arrival, we were escorted to our site and the staff member helped back us into our spot. He then explained the electrical box, sewer, etc. to help us feel welcomed. We found the sites to be spacious, well maintained (gravel pads) and very level. Our site was along the river, which provided us with a great view. Yes, there is a train track across the river and you will hear them go by, but most of the time I really didn't notice them.

Buttonwood has many amenities and theme weekends for their customers. In addition to the pool and playground there is mini-golf, laser tag, giant bounce pillow, and go-carts to name a few (Fee). They also offer free transportation to the Port Royal Speedway on Saturday nights for the races. Each weekend various activities take place with outside vendors, crafts, food, etc. One very important fact is they have a permanent stand for the Juniata Valley Winery onsite, which is open every weekend. Try the wine slushies!!

Overall, we found Buttonwood Campground to be a fun and relaxing place to stay with friendly customer service and a variety of amenities. We will return and I recommend them if you are looking for a clean place to stay in Central PA.
