Tree-Lined Paved Parking Pasture at Big Box Wholesale Retailer

Whether you find yourself heading to CostCo for the famed rotisserie chicken, pumpkin spiced jumbo cupcakes or to buy a year’s worth of TP, there’s no doubt, one of the great finds at this particular CostCo is the amazingly flat and expansive parking lot you’ll find, should you be looking for a place to call home for the night. If finding a flat, safe and otherwise un-jam-packed spot to call home for the night is your objective, then check out this CostCo, which is BRAND SPANKING NEW mind you and just might afford you a special slice of pavement to call home for the night. Oh, there's also the signature CostCo gas station here, so cheers to also discovering the cheapest gas in a 30 mile radius!

Located 10 minutes due east of Highway 476, this parking lot at the wholesale retail leader is situated just south of the sleepy suburban town of Montgomery where this parking lot is nearby a number of other big box retailers like Lowe’s, Home Depot and BJ’s that also offers up its own gas station (but not as cheap as CostCo's mind you!), surrounded by many other restaurants and shops. As for the parking lot itself, it’s incredibly safe, very large and not incredibly busy along with tons of treeline surround this particular resting spot, so finding a flat piece of pavement to call home for the night should be likely the simplest thing you will have to contend with.

The best part about the CostCo that’s situated here is not only the EZ access from Highway 476, but the quick and smart access to its cheap gas (obviously for members only) as well as the abundance of nearby retail, commercial and consumer-friendly offerings this place is surrounded by. Add to this the pretty safe vibe you’ll feel – as a fellow RV owner, one thing I want to ensure is that my vehicle, but much more important, my family and friends, are never in a place where anyone feels uncomfortable. I also very much like the privacy, given the thick tree- and bush-line that surrounds this retail parking spot, which is part of the bigger General Hancock Shopping Center.

Hungry? Well, 'whet your appetite' at any one of these amazing eateries: try your luck at Eastern Dragon, The Metropolitan, SaladWorks, Bonefish Grill, Pumpernick’s Restaurant, Texas Roadhouse, Panera, Pour House and Noboru. Need to get some reps in? No worries, LA Fitness has you covered. Have to get your make-up on? Chill. There’s an Ulta and Sally Beauty. Wanna buy that flat screen TV for your RV? Check out Best Buy. Want to do some thrifting? Excellent – check out Goodwill. Oh, did I mention there’s a gas station at CostCo with the cheapest gas you'll find within a 30 mile radius?

Insider’s tips? Here’s a few: (1) For those seeking some historical significance to your otherwise mundane stay at a parking lot, you can still enrich yourself by trekking over to Graeme Park, which is an historic mansion with 42 acres or so of super-cool landscaped grounds and gardens; (2) Should you be rocking up to this particular pavement encampment, and come, for some reason, without enough groceries, then you’ll delight in having not 1 but 2 Wegmans (arguably the best grocery store in the universe, right?!), but also Assi Plaza, that has a number of shopping options; (3) Have kids and need to distract them for a few hours? Then check out Amazing Escape Room, which will keep the kids otherwise occupied and perplexed for a good 2.5 hours, while you can cater your time to other, much important things, like say, checking out the Fonthill Castle, where there’s a pretty amazing palatial home with some pretty far out displays; and (4) If you’re driving an RV, I have to believe that you’re actually searching for a slice of nature, so if that’s the case, you’ll want to check out nearby Natural Lands Gwynedd Preserve that has some pretty amazing hiking trails.

While scoring criteria may vary from one person to the next, here are the 5 most important criteria that informed my rating of this overnight location: convenience (EZ on- and off-access), safety & security, quality (of facilities), peace & quiet and amenities (either on-site or nearby). Here’s how I ranked this particular overnight spot:

Convenience: 4

Safety & Security: 5

Quality: 5

Peace & Quiet: 5

Amenities: 4

Overall, I scored this location a 5.

Happy Overnighting!
