Recovering tent camper. Graduated to a pop up last year. Probably stick with this for the time being. Building memories for my daughter that will shape who she becomes.

Packed in, lots to do, lots of highway noise.

We arrived on a Tuesday and got super anxious about our 7 night stay due to the close proximity. It wasn’t terrible and the campground CLEARED by Sunday night. Sunday - Thursday you’re pretty clear. Small sites when it’s full. There is a lot to do which is nice and they seem to have a good running list of activities. We have said this is a good off or low season campground as we like it for the kids.

Pros: lots to do Good for family Kinda/sorta central to ADK activities. Easy access off highway

Cons 24/7 highway noise. Small sites Required to buy wood from them. So the wood gets a bit expensive. Seems like they cheat he for a lot and have some extra charges.

We went back and forth on this place a lot but Ultimately we liked the campground. I think this would be a good “off peak” time visit since it was inexpensive but seemed more enjoyable when less people were there.

Great value, quiet, close to the beach.

Pros: very close to the beach Quiet and respectful Friendly staff Clean bathrooms Super reasonable price Other campers are great

Cons: FLIES - idk if this is something they can do anything about. The permanent sites don’t seem to take great care of their sites/trailers so there are some eyesores around.

Recommendation for the staff: spray for mosquitoes.

Great, clean family run resort

This is a great family run campground. The store is nice, bathhouses are clean and private. Owners are super nice. There is also a great view of the surrounding countryside because it’s up on a big hill. If you’re hauling a big camper you’ll need power for the hills.

Beautiful state park with nice cabins

We stayed in the cabins here off season. It was great and looked like a lot of fun during the season. Great hiking at the boulder field that was great too. If the gates are open, you may even be able to do a little off-roading in your vehicle… just stay away during bear (maybe even deer) hunting season.

Sometimes corporate is good

We loved it here. Clean, well managed, lots of great amenities, tons to do. This place is run by a publicly traded company that seems to have their systems in place to make things work. We had a great time.

Beautiful campground

We loved it here! Very beautiful, nice hiking trails and a beautiful lake. Clean grounds and bath houses.

Great campground! Lots of fun

We loved it here. It accommodates a large family reunion with plenty of space. The campground was well populated but we didn’t feel cramped at all. Super dog friendly. Many little dog parks throughout. Great pool.

Well maintained, friendly ownership

Nice, clean campground. We have stayed in the cabins and it was really nice. Also, brought our pop up. The pop up sites are nice, shaded and secluded but it’s kind of swampy so there were bugs and there was no view of the lake. However, there are many sites with a view of the lake. They don’t look like they get shade though. Great spot within a short drive to OCMD and Asateague.

Great campground, great hiking

This campground was great. So much to do here. Hiking was great, climbing on the rocks was a lot of fun and the pinnacle was such a beautiful view. Loved our time there.

Off season visit

We visited off season (early April) and absolutely loved it. The location was great and the beaches are quiet. I hear it gets packed and I see that it’s hard to book if you don’t book early. Our experience was awesome!

Not great

Cons: Bring 50 ft of hose for water hook up and an extension cord with a converter. The water hook ups are randomly placed, ours was 2 sites away. The lake area is COVERED in goose poop. Sites in the 20’s are tiny and hanging off a cliff.

Pros: Shaded, hiking, nice camp store, nice snack bar
