Our greeting was friendly, booking was easy, and this campground is in a great location for enjoying Ashland; however, this campground is in need of work. Our site was not level and had muddy ruts we needed to work around. The bathroom facilities are a bit rough, and the encampment of permanent residents, while quiet and probably very chill, is not a good look and would be a major turnoff for many people. The tent area looks like it could be under a freeway, rather than at an established campground. Historic mineral water soaking facilities onsite appear to be clean; note that they, and the restrooms, have the sulphur odor normally associated with natural springs. Lots of onsite trees and other vegetation; in spring this will be a charming aspect of the grounds, when it’s blooming and leafed out. In winter, the dormant vegetation I doesn’t do much to provide visual relief from facilities badly in need of cleaning, painting, and maintenance.
