Many campgrounds require reservations, particularly during peak summer season when popular sites fill quickly. The area experiences hot, dry summers with temperatures often exceeding 90°F, while winters bring cooler temperatures and occasional snow at higher elevations like Mount Ashland. Water access varies significantly between locations, with Emigrant Lake Recreation Area offering boat-in camping options. According to one visitor, "The sites are level and have grass and fire pits. There is a walking bike trail that goes along Bear Creek to Ashland."
Southern Oregon RV Park receives consistently high ratings for its well-maintained facilities and convenient location. Visitors appreciate the concrete pads, fire pits, and accessible amenities. The property features fishing ponds and walking trails, though some reviewers note significant highway noise due to proximity to Interstate 5. Several campgrounds provide swimming pools during summer months, which proves popular with families. Mount Ashland Campground stands out as one of the few free camping options in the region, offering primitive sites with vault toilets but no drinking water, making it suitable for self-contained camping setups.

"Great RV sites that are close to the River with FHU’s. Hiking paths border the river and connect the many camping loops. Stayed in loop B which has back-in’s and drive throughs."
"Do Not let the close proximity to I-5 keep you from staying here. We are on B loop and while outside the traffic noise is audible, it gets lost in the wind through the trees."
$25 - $40 / night
"relaxed atmosphere and reasonably priced for car and tent camping, plus camping fees include access to the rejuvenating sulphur-rich hot spring pool, swimming pool and sauna."
"I do have drinking water and free bathroom use around the back side of the building. For car camping there is no shade just a gravel parking lot."

"Stayed 2 nights in a tent... my site was on the edge next to a forest of oak trees... good site for a tent and comes with a campfire if wanted. 2 buildings with toilets and showers - 1 building had showers"
"Be aware the wind picks up in the afternoon but tends to die down after sundown and there's not a lot of shade trees, but the view is amazing, it's about 15 minutes from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival"

I went to the JoCo camping office to make my reservation and didn’t request a pull through.
When I arrived the camp host were very helpful in honoring my request and even had me follow their golf cart and made sure I had all I needed.
Price reasonable, managers very congenial, we’ve stayed here several times
Seven Feathers Rest Area is a great stop for travelers. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained, which makes a big difference on long trips. The parking area is quiet and feels safe, making it a comfortable place to take a break or rest for a while. There’s also a designated pet area, which is perfect for walking your dog and letting them stretch their legs. Overall, it’s a convenient, peaceful, and traveler-friendly rest area that’s definitely worth stopping at.
Full hookups. Fair number of long term residents. Stayed in 42’ 5th wheel
We checked out the 3 RV options (Creekside, Jackson Wellness, and Emigrant). This was by far the cleanest, most open, and best views. Luckily, we got a clear night and could see the entire star sky. Dog friendly, lake view spots, and full hookups. First come first serve options are available if you don’t book in advance. We traveled in November and it was very open.
Nice river spot near crater lake! Lots of hiking trails and river access in this area
Very close to crater lake, we really enjoyed this site! Has your basic amenities. Lots of trails nearby to explore, we went up and down the river in multiple areas! Great location to enjoy the area for a good few days
The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because it's near the interstate and you can hear the vehicles going by at night. But other than that the place is kept well cleaned. They have shower facilities and restrooms and there's not a time limit on there to getting take a shower and use the restroom whenever you want
