They let us in for free!

We arrived here later in the day. We were here and it was chilly in November. Apparently the person working didn't anticipate any body showing up so late in the season. They were surprised and let us in for free. Its a pretty sweet camp right on the lake. 20-30 tent sites. As well as full RV hook ups.

Theres hiking, biking, and fishing in the area. We weren't really sure what to think about camping in Oklahoma and the camp site and people blew our expectations.

    Cheers!

    Nice little lake

It’s a small lake but big enough to go fishing and do your boating fun on like skiing , tubing and etc. There is camping around the lake with RV hookups in spots around the lake. A few full hookups, water & electric hookups and many just electric spots.

Just what we needed for a quick stop in Pawhuska!

Our goal was to visit Ree Drummond’s businesses in Pawhuska and the Settle Inn RV Park was the perfect spot for an overnight. The campground manager (owner?) was very pleasant and worked with us over several months when we requested reservations almost 8 months in advance. The setting is beautiful, and the atmosphere is very laid back. The price for a full hook up site is also very, very reasonable. One caution, the sites are pretty narrow with some overhanging trees on the corners - we pulled two fifth wheels into two sites and both were within inches of the trees and the edges of each roof while pulling into the sites.

    I love the Prairie Dogs

I really like this lake. I like the campgrounds along the shore. It's a beautiful Lake. I love driving across the dam. On the west side of the dam there is a field with lots of prairie dogs. I love watching the little Prarie Dogs. You can pull over and watch them. I like swimming there. Sometimes you see bald eagles. There are many campgrounds. There is even free places to camp. The campground does give 50% if you have an American the beautiful passport. All the campgrounds are nice and we'll kept. It is a big Lake. Only about 8 or 10 miles from Ponca City. I took a lot of pictures but somehow they disappeared off my phone.

    Lake McMurtry East Campground

    Clean and tranquil

This campground has one of the simplest, user friendly, online reservation site I've ever used. For me, thats a definite plus. The tent sites are massive, equipped with a table, fire ring, grill, and parking. Four sites are near the swim area (9-12), site 9 and 10 are nearest to the toilets - which are clean, sites 1-8 are tucked back in the woods a little. There are RV hookup sites on the inside of the campground loop. Amenities include a playground, hiking/mtb trails, swim area, fishing dock, and a bait shop. Day use fee is 6$, overnight tent fee is 10$. This area is subject to burn bans and showers are located at the west campground.

    Lake Carl Blackwell

    Relaxing time

We reserve two sites side by side in the beaver cove campground. The sites are on a slight decline but pull through and we were able to make them level with our blocks. The sides have enough room for the grandkids to roam around it besides for electric and water only but offered a view of the lake and we're close by a swim area. The trees at the sides provided adequate shade for the afternoon sun and the campground offered boat ramps couple of swim areas and on-site store for gas and supplies including and after hours vending machine with propane tanks and charcoal and s'mores supplies. The dump station provided slots for three RVs at one time and well thought out. The crap ground offers hiking bicycle and horse trails that cover a large area. Wildlife was abundant with plenty of deer and Canadian geese and squirrels. The campgrounds offer some annual sites for long-term visits but there is a waiting list to be on that.

    Quaint little park

Bob was gracious and met us as we pulled in. The park is on a private spring-fed lake that has good fishing and is a perfect size for my kayak. Full hook-ups and WiFi is good. Verizon worked well. Laundry on-site but we didn't use it. Very reasonable price since we have a Passport America membership. Bob's family acquired the land in the Land run and have kept the 160 acres ever since. A little out of the way, but still a favorite of ours.

    Basic

This is an RV park that someone built next to their house, inside Stillwater city limits. I believe it did have a bathroom area, in the green and tan building. I didn't feel right getting out at this one it was right next to the house. This park did have electric, water and sewer. The place is pretty basic, I feel it would be good for out of town workers to stay.

As much as I’d LOVE the pictures posted here to be Wellington Lake in Kansas is is not. There are no mountains not even any hills really. I’ve lived in Wellington all my life and have visited, swam, and camped there.

The beach area for swimming is nice and has a playground. It’s roped off so swimmers are safe from boaters. Camping options for tents or camper trailers.

    Right off the lake

This is a good campground if you’re looking to spend all day on the lake and go to sleep when you’re back on the land. It’s a pretty busy campground for boaters. There’s a dock near the entrance. It has hook ups for RVs. The facilities are iffy, there’s one set of pit toilets and a poorly maintained shower building.

    Feyodi Creek

Small campground on the Arkansas River

Small campground with friendly hosts. Call ahead to reserve. Two main areas for RV camping. Some of the sites have nice shade. Ours had a picnic table, grill, and shade. Electric and water hookups. Access to the river for fishing or boating. There is also a nice pond that I have seen children swimming in.

When we were there, a great pelican migration was going on, and there were thousands of birds flying up the river. It was incredibly beautiful.

Campgrounds were very quite. People were friendly. Campsites are not super private.

Campground was fairly well maintained, well mowed. Bathhouse was very clean.

We had a little luck bank fishing. I think most folks fish for catfish.

Campground and campsite are both easy to get to.

    Great site. Very clean.

Clean campsite. Fire pit had recently been cleaned out. Nice little path down to the water from this spot. Water and electricity available but didn't use this trip. If you hammock camp, the poles on the canopy are perfectly spaced for a great hang. No firewood to buy on premises so pick it up in the near town of Ponca City if you want to light a fire. There is dead wood around as well if you want to source it that way.

Great for family/easy in & out

Great summer time RV and year around tent camping. Several miles of trails for hiking and smooth enough for decent mountain biking. Also a great spot do go down and see waterfalls and throw the kayaks in the water.

RV facilities are clean for black water dump. Also has cabins and small event center, swimming pool, several play grounds. Con- no water in RV spots during winter months and upper tent camping closes during winter.

    Great Little Hiden Gem

We decided to give this place a try and are so glqd we did! It's a nice little campground with maybe 10 pull-through spots long enough to accommodate most, if not all. Full hookups including electric, water, and sewer available. The spots are spaced close together with about a 4 ft median of grass between but it's not a busy place, in fact we had the whole area to ourselves! Pretty quiet,, can only hear the nearby interstate faintly. There's a dirt path to the lake with fishing access and a lot of open area to run and play. Access to a shaded picnic area as well. It's kept clean and we did see someone do regular drive bys to check on the place. Overall a great spot & we will definitely stop again for a longer stay!

    Good for an overnight stay

This is a small, older campground. It is clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We probably are a little late in the season, not real busy (early November). Hookups all work, no problems. Sites are gravel and maybe a little rutted, some more gravel would help level things up. I don’t know exactly how KOA differentiates between Holidays and Journeys but this seems more like other Journeys we’ve stayed at.

    Sleeping in Northeastern Oklahoma Woods

Beautiful old, but refurbished campground in Northeast Oklahoma, built by the CCC! Our last night of a 16-day trip is quietly coming to a close. We made reservations on-line (that's another story!), and when we got there around 8 p.m., the RV campground was about 1/3 full. There are only electric hookups and community water is scattered through the campground. There are tent cabins to rent, and separate tent camping area, also where the overlook is, although it was overgrown and not easy to see the view! There are newish shower and toilet buildings scattered around and my hubs said they were nice and clean... shower water warm only. There is a swimming pool opening early June and nice walking trails. Lots of history if you go that route!

    Napawalla Park

Great value for water & electric!

This is a county operated park located in Oxford, Kansas which is a few miles east off I 35. So it’s a convenient layover, especially considering the cost! If you don’t use the electricity it’s only $3.50 and if you choose to hook up to the electric, which is located on utility poles, then it’s $10 per night on the honor system. There’s a box next to the bath house where you leave your cash payment.

The park is very well kept and has a lot to offer with disc golf course (be aware that the course runs through the middle of the camping area), a playground, group picnic shelter, a basketball court, and a newer shower/bath house. This is only open between April 15th and October 15th. Water is available to fill your tank and there is a dump station on site too! At site 50 the water was next to the site, so if no one else is camping it could be a direct hook up. When I stayed there were only 2 other rigs here.

There are no specific designated sites, at least that are clearly designated. Just take the road into the park and then look for the poles which hold the electric boxes. You can pull into the grassy areas next to one of these. I was concerned about the ground being soft because it had just rained, but I had no problems in my 24’ class C rig.

Oxford is a small town, but across the main street from the park there’s a gas station/quick mart store and supplies are there. This is a fantastic peaceful spot with great night skies and the price is right!  Let’s keep it our secret.
