Wellington KOA

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

RV travelers passing through south-central Kansas will find Wellington KOA operates year-round with full hookups for rigs up to 70 feet. This smaller KOA sits on gravel sites that some reviewers note could use additional leveling material, though all electrical, water, and sewer connections function reliably. The campground maintains coin-operated laundry facilities and offers late check-in with individual site maps for arrivals after hours.

Staff members receive consistent praise for their helpfulness and friendly service. "This is a very clean and well maintained camp ground," notes one reviewer who appreciated the on-site amenities during an overnight stay. Multiple visitors highlight the campground's cleanliness standards, which extend to both the facilities and common areas. Some sites feature patios with fire pits, picnic tables, and covered swings that provide outdoor gathering spaces.

The location places campers about 20 miles south of Wichita, making it a practical stopping point for travelers on longer routes. For those exploring the broader region, places to camp near Haysville offer additional options closer to the metropolitan area. Nearby alternatives include Woodlands RV Park less than two miles northwest and Wellington Lake East Rec Area about nine miles southwest for those seeking lakeside camping.

Reservations are accepted, and pets are welcome throughout the property.

Good for an overnight stay

This is a small, older campground. It is clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We probably are a little late in the season, not real busy (early November). Hookups all work, no problems. Sites are gravel and maybe a little rutted, some more gravel would help level things up. I don’t know exactly how KOA differentiates between Holidays and Journeys but this seems more like other Journeys we’ve stayed at.

Great first time at a KOA

Pulled in around 11pm, had to use the late check-in process. Well organized and easy with individual maps for each site number. Highly recommend!

Perfect Stop over

This is a very clean and well maintained camp ground. We just needed one night and used the coin operated laundry.

Small, but nice campground.

Nice KOA campground. A little further than we wanted to be from Wichita, but not their fault. Clean, friendly employees. Would stay here again.
