      Berlin RV Park & Campground

This is the cleanest park we've ever used! The bathroom is tidy; the showers are roomy and convenient to use. There is a nice playground for younger kids as well as a pickleball court and basketball court for teens and adults. There also is a pleasant hiking trail. We stayed in Site 42, a concrete site, which was fantastic for my spouse's mobility issues. The sites are not super spaced apart, but, with the graduated elevation, we didn't feel smashed together. We visited Amish Country to absorb the beautiful fall scenery, to shop at local stores, and to relax by a campfire in the evening . The campground was perfect for us. If you're seeking a wilderness adventure , this park is not for you .

      Mohican Adventures Campground and Cabins

Could not ask for a better site. Absolutely beautiful setting. A nice small lake for fishing, and a perfect shallow stream for kids to play in, running right by the sites. The pool house and facilities are spotlessly clean. On top of that, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We even needed a jumpstart for our truck when we were towing the camper out on a rainy Monday morning and someone came around to help. 100% will come back and 100% would recommend to anyone.

      Woodside Lake Park

      Convenient and lots of choices

We stayed in the fall for one night to visit Cuyahoga Valley Park (about 25 minutes away, as is a Costco). Many choices for short term sites. From the many permanent RVs and water slides in the pond, looks like it could be less quiet other times of year and a fun place for kids (we weren’t traveling with any). Staff nice and helpful but showers were old and dirty, probably in part to the high iron in the water (we didn’t hook up water).

      West Branch State Park Campground

Great overnight close to Ohio Turnpike

We were passing through on a weeknight in mid September. Many open sites. Sites are paved and many are sloped. Most are shaded. Our site #41 was fairly level with electricity. Close to huge bathhouse with flush toilets, showers and laundry. High above the lake with views through the trees. Appeared there were many long term campers but just as good for our short overnight stay. Online registration. $45 for electric only site.

      Punderson State Park Campground

      Quiet and Lush

Our site was level, although I observed many that are not. It was fairly quiet, although the sites are pretty small. Ours was described as 'waterfront', but it was so overgrown between the site and the shoreline that there was no access and the lake wasn't visible. Bathrooms were very clean and the shower worked great.

      Malabar Farm State Park Campground

      Peaceful and Primitive

Second time here. Quiet, except for the birds chirping.

Only 3 other campsites in use on an August weekend.

      Water and pit toilet.

Enough At&t cell service to connect, but it's not great.

      Clay's Resort Jellystone Park

NO communication and severely lacking customer service skills

I won’t rate the other categories yet but I’ve been upset the whole process trying to plan my trip and the people have made it impossible. I’m constantly unable to get ahold of the park. I keep getting put on the“call back list” when trying to modify a reservation only for NO ONE to ever call back. I finally get ahold of someone after a MONTH… only to have zero customer service skills… they just said“oh we don’t even have a call list” so I ask for another form of communication I can have with me since my trip is in a month and I’ve had these issues for a month… they offer ZERO solutions and are not empathetic either. Another issue was last year I was hospitalized for several months due to an early twin birth so I had to push my trip to the following year… when I FINALLY got ahold of the park last year the women I spoke with trying to manage the rescheduling…was ZERO help surprise surprise… on top of that it took 13 calls and weeks before a manager got back to me…making the window to reschedule or get refunds closer to closing adding stress that you might not get to make your next move how you’d like… anyway…I simply asked for dates that matched the costs that we already paid for the trip so I didn’t have to pay more… I simply asked for it to be within the summer days since my previous reservation was during the summer time with all the extra water park and amenities that close at the end of August. I booked when my kid could use all amenities and there were no hour restrictions either due to still being in season. However the lady couldn’t accommodate or recommend any alternate dates to suite my trip that weren’t several hundred dollars more… now we started out with a trip all paid for last year with all amenities no hour restrictions to a weekend we had to pay more and are restricted hours wise on the summer amenities. As the person doing reservations you should be able to recommend dates and help me plan the trip accordingly to the money spent and not sit on the other end of the phone demanding I just give you dates…. After our trip we will never plan or schedule anything at this park again. Regardless of the amenities… for families traveling far distances you couldn’t make it anymore inconvenient, difficult, and time consuming for simply planning questions or just getting ahold of you in general. No sorrys…. Just a whole lot of…”hmm that’s weird well oh well, next” kind of attitude. Zero solutions just excuses. So that being first impressions not too excited to find out what we are in for when we arrive. Especially reading other reviews about deflated balls so you can’t use the hoops, broken a/c units that the property won’t even handle that their own employees have to give up their own personal comfort cause management won’t?… concession stands trash everywhere… broken hot tubs, WiFi not working in cabins for night time with children is tough…sad that my family’s first camping trip ever hasnt even happened yet and it’s been nothing but a headache to plan because of the staff. Yall make money to make the experience smooth for your consumers but somebody missed the memo.

      Punderson State Park Campground

      One of our favorites

We love this park! Unfortunately it’s been so booked this summer we haven’t been able to go. It’s literally 30 minutes from us. The sites are fairly nice. Some near the water are shallow and you have to be careful. The park surrounding it is lovely. There’s a beach, a golf course and even a lodge and cabins. We always get good internet with our hot spot. If I’m being honest though, the worst thing is the bath house. The showers suck! There’s no privacy and I would never use them. There’s a nice playground for kids and a little nature center. We love riding our e-bikes there. Lots of critters and I’ve even seen an otter! Give it a try if you can find an opening!

    Guide to Marshallville

The Marshallville area sits within Wayne County, Ohio at an average elevation of 1,070 feet above sea level. The region experiences four distinct seasons with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Glamping accommodations close to Marshallville, Ohio remain functional from late spring through early fall, with limited luxury camping options available during winter months when temperatures regularly dip below freezing.

    What to do

Horseback riding adventures: Canton/East Sparta KOA Holiday at Bear Creek Ranch offers on-site trail rides suitable for beginners. "Took the kids on the horse ride and they loved it. All staff were very friendly," notes visitor Bradley B., who found the experience appropriate for family members of various skill levels.

Fishing opportunities: Multiple reservoirs provide shore fishing access within short driving distance. At Countryside Campground, campers can walk directly to Mogadore Reservoir. "A nice short walk takes you to Mogadore reservoir," reports Joe F., though he adds they had "no luck fishing from shore" during their visit, suggesting bringing appropriate gear for conditions.

Water recreation: Several glamping sites near Marshallville provide direct water access for kayaking and swimming. At West Branch State Park Campground, waterfront sites allow campers to launch directly from their location. "We can launch our kayaks right from our campsite," explains Alisa G., highlighting the convenience for those bringing personal watercraft.

    What campers like

Private, wooded sites: Unlike some crowded glamping facilities, certain locations offer more secluded spots. "West Branch has private, spacious, shady sites," says Alisa G., noting the contrast with more densely-packed luxury camping options commonly found in tourist destinations.

Year-round indoor amenities: Winter glamping possibilities exist near Marshallville despite seasonal limitations. "We camped here the second weekend in December and had the park mostly to ourselves. There were only 3 other campers there," Andrea F. mentions about Evergreen Park RV Resort, adding, "The game room was nice as well as the indoor pool."

Free primitive camping options: For those seeking alternatives to luxury camping, Rivers Edge Camping Area offers no-cost options. "These campsites seem to be the best kept secret! Located near the Bridgeport Quarry Trailhead about 2.5 miles north of Massillon, OH in the Stark County Parks District. These sites are specifically designed for hikers/cyclists. Camping is dispersed in a small grassy field and is FREE!" reports Shari G.

    What you should know

Uneven terrain at some locations: Site leveling equipment may be necessary at certain campgrounds. "We were only off 2 inches side to side but front to back we had to lower the front 15 inches. The jack was down as low as it would go and we were still off by 1.5 inches," explains Andrea F. about their experience at West Branch State Park Campground.

Water quality issues: Some glamping facilities close to Marshallville struggle with water quality. One visitor at Clay's Resort Jellystone Park reported, "The water situation was equally disturbing. The water smelled horrible, and both the shower head and faucet were caked with scum. My kids begged not to have to take a shower because of the smell."

Reservation requirements vary: While premium glamping options require advance booking, some locations accept walk-ins. "A short distance from the main campground, the B class campground features first come availability," notes Jared H. about Mohican State Park, providing an option for last-minute glamping trips.

    Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: Schedule for multiple age groups to avoid boredom. "We decided to stay after plenty of referrals from friends and family. Pleasantly surprised with how clean everything was. The employees were also super kind. The lake was virtually algae free, and even during this pandemic, it didn't feel over crowded at any point. My kids really enjoyed the entire time and were wore out!" shares Chuck E. about their Clay's Resort Jellystone Park experience.

Book waterfront sites early: Premium waterside glamping spots fill quickly at most locations. "Waterside sites fill up quickly! Check in is very easy as you pass the camp store on your way in," advises Alisa G., recommending a six-month advance reservation for prime spots.

Pack for temperature fluctuations: Even summer glamping near Marshallville requires preparation for cool evenings. At Mohican State Park Campground, temperatures can drop significantly after sunset, particularly in spring and fall. "We love this park! Lots of hiking! Even saw a bald eagle this trip. Another Thanksgiving spent in our camper and it was so nice and relaxing," reports Andrea F. about off-season camping.

    Tips from RVers

Check site lengths carefully: Several glamping options near Marshallville have limited space for larger setups. "Large campground with gravel sites," notes Erin about Countryside Campground, while John R. adds it has "ample parking space," but site dimensions vary throughout the property.

Utilize off-season availability: For quieter glamping experiences close to Marshallville, consider non-peak timing. "During the week is a ghost town 👏 this time of year," J.R. notes about fall camping at Clay's Resort Jellystone Park, indicating significantly reduced crowds compared to weekends and summer months.
