Holden Beach RV Campground offers full hookup sites with water, electric and sewer connections on gravel pads, with both 30 and 50 amp service available. "Sites have full hookups, fire pits, and picnic tables. Not a new place so lots of great trees for shade and to block the sea breeze," noted one visitor about the Holden Beach location. Winners RV Park in Carolina Beach provides basic RV sites with electric, water and sewer hookups in a more compact setting, while S & W RV Park in Shallotte features big-rig friendly sites with full hookups, though fire pits are not permitted at this location.

Dump stations are limited at some facilities, with Holden Beach RV Campground guests mentioning a "strong sewer smell" in some parts of the park. According to reviews, site spacing varies significantly between parks, with Holden Beach offering some privacy between sites through "small shrubbery between the spots so even if you are right next to someone you still feel like you have your own space." Pet policies generally allow dogs, though restrictions may apply. Proximity to beaches is a notable feature, with Holden Beach RV Campground located approximately 2-3 miles from ocean access and offering a shuttle service during peak seasons.

    Oceans RV Resort

So Awesome We're Staying Another Month

Pickleball! And there's the bar/lounge, swimming pool, gym, laundry but most of all, space. You're in the south, so friendly folks who give you all the time in the world is a given. Yes, southern hospitality is palpable here. We're just a few miles from the beach, walking distance to a restaurant and or convenience store; crawling distance to Dales Pub across the road. It's like a KOA here, without the big trikes, lake and boats- but there are a couple ponds where the turtles come and go. Highlights for us; 1.) The laundry will run off an app on your phone. 2.) The pool and patio is truly awesome; we hang there almost every afternoon(weather permitting). 3.) Did I mention pickleball?! Downsides? Well, there is the price, but that's relative. We're getting a$1200.00 monthly rate which makes it do-able. Sometimes, when the winds blow out of the east, every camper smells the sewage treatment plant across the back fence- Check Google maps satellite view. Truth be told, it is rare, only a few days out of the month. The large majority of the time we get the cool coastal breeze. We camped at Oceans RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Great Amenities - Quiet off season

We camped here in our 34 travel trailer. We both work from home on hot spots and our Verizon connection was great.

The place is VERY quiet in the off season. We didn’t have any neighbors in the surrounding spots.

The pool area looks super nice, but it was a little to chilly for us to spend any time in the pool. The hot tub however was a great way to end our work days! There are plenty of showers and two laundry rooms. Both are very nice and clean. There’s a small arcade which was fun too.

Check in was super easy. We were very late and they accommodated us. The staff is polite and friendly.

The site is great. Concrete pad makes for super quick and easy leveling set up. There’s a fire pit and picnic table. The spots next to us are “premium” so they have a little pavilion over their table.

The dog park is small and definitely geared towards smaller dogs. It has a cute agility type course set up. Our GSD felt a little to big for the dog park, but we made it work.

Beautiful and peaceful setting and wine to boot!

What's not to like. Beautiful, family owned campground. Large spacious and clean well organized sites. Picnic tables and BBQ grills on sites. Pull thoughts. Winery with taste testing hours and wine to purchase. 2-0/30/50 amp service. Dog run, wireless internet, laundry, pool, bath house with oversize showers, covered stage, art gallery/ gift shop, propane, playground, fishing pond, scheduled events.

T-mobile phone and hotspot work well

    ATT hotspot ok

Great RV park, especially for boaters and families

This is a very clean, modern, and well kept RV park. It’s big rig friendly since many of the sites are pull through with full hook ups. Bath houses are very clean and look brand new. There is a beautiful boardwalk along the Intercoastal Waterway where you can watch the boats pass by. There is also a large pool with massive water slide and a nearby tiki bar. Lots of amenities for kids and a well stocked camp store.

    Wishing Well

    Good Location for Economy Minded

We stayed here for 2 weeks in September 2019. We don’t have kids, so we didn’t need amenities to entertain them. There is no pool, or playground, but there is a large area to walk your pets. Yes, they are PET FRIENDLY.
It’s not a large RV campground, with only 34 back-in sites. You do have FULL HOOKUPS. The owner is very friendly and is easy to work with. He keeps the grounds neat and the showers and restrooms clean. You are only 10 minutes to Sunset Beach and Ocean Isle Beach. Also, North Myrtle Beach is only 25 minutes away. They close December 15th, until sometime in spring.
If you are just trying to get a place in the area and don’t need a lot of campground amenities, I would recommend this place to you. We’ll definitely be going back.

    Barefoot RV Resort

    Quiet, clean, nice location

We were there with 2 other couples when tropical storm Elsa came. They cleaned up some tree limbs and debris shortly after the winds subsided. We had a nice week. We were next to an airport and enjoyed watching small aircraft. I videoed planes dropping banners. Pool was clean and had nice loungers and restrooms. Palm trees at every site lit up at night. You could walk to grocery store, liquor store, restaurants, the beach, and barefoot landing. You could drive a gulf cart to all these places too. They had activities also. We tie dyed our shirts with their logo on them to remember our stay. We saw fire dancers who taught the audience to dance, not with fire. The laundromat was clean. Didn’t use the showers but they were nice too. It is a gated campground. The sites are spacious and concrete pad for trailer, tow vehicle and picnic tables. Fire pits are nice. Would definitely recommend!

    Holden Beach RV Campground

Great Location Under the Live Oaks Close to Beach

We camped at HBRV the past three nights. We were in site #46. Great site, full hookups, end site so privacy on patio side of RV. Staff was great. People were friendly. Only 2 miles to Holden Beach. Fire pit, firewood for sale. Some long term campers.  Definitely enjoyed our stay.

Guide to Southport

Carolina Beach and surrounding areas offer several RV camping options within 15-30 minutes of Southport, North Carolina. While Southport itself has limited options, nearby communities in both North Carolina and South Carolina provide campsites with varying levels of amenities. Many campgrounds in this coastal region sit on flat terrain with sandy soil and tall pines providing shade at elevations under 50 feet.

What to do

Beach access: Holden Beach RV Campground provides regular beach transportation during busy periods. "We stayed in the new section with great, full hook up, level, gravel pads and some new grass and landscaping, large new picnic table and fire pit. And a decent amount of space from next door neighbor at an angle. And the bath house has a private toilet, sink and shower- beautifully tiled and maintained. Lovely relaxing weekend. Oh- and a free trolly takes you to the beach and some restaurants," notes one visitor.

Vineyard visits: Wine enthusiasts can find RV sites near Southport, North Carolina at CarrollWoods RV Park at Grapefull Sisters Vineyard. "I visited the winery and the two women who own it are helpful and lively. If you visit, you must get one of their wine floats," shares one camper. The campground combines wine tasting with camping amenities.

Waterfront recreation: Intracoastal Waterway views are available at several campgrounds within driving distance of Southport. "You are right on the Intercoastal waterway and can watch the boats travel up and down. They also have boats and golf carts for rent. Resort is close to Little River which has good restaurants," reports one visitor to North Myrtle Beach RV Resort.

What campers like

Clean bathhouses: Many campgrounds near Southport maintain well-kept bathroom facilities. A visitor to S & W RV Park noted, "We were looking for a last minute place, close to the coast. Found this campground by chance. Reasonably priced during peak season. We stayed 2 weeks, had a large campsite (probably hit or miss on site size), and really enjoyed our stay."

Site spacing: Campgrounds vary in how much privacy they offer between sites. "We stayed with 2 other couples when tropical storm Elsa came. They cleaned up some tree limbs and debris shortly after the winds subsided. We had a nice week," reports a camper at Barefoot RV Resort. "The sites are spacious and concrete pad for trailer, tow vehicle and picnic tables. Fire pits are nice."

Seasonal amenities: Some campgrounds offer different experiences depending on when you visit. "With being only a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants, this park can't be beat. No frills here. The park managers are fun and friendly, and the grounds are clean and well-kept," states one visitor to Winners RV Park in Carolina Beach.

What you should know

Rules vary by campground: Some RV sites have restrictions on fires, tents, or other camping activities. "All concrete sites with 20, 30, and 50 amp service. Gated and safe. As soon as a camper pulls out, they pressure wash every site as needed. Hand clean the power boxes and sanitize the tables," notes one camper about Barefoot RV Resort.

WiFi reliability: Internet access varies significantly between campgrounds. "T-mobile phone and hotspot work well, ATT hotspot ok," reports a visitor to CarrollWoods RV Park. Another camper noted, "I wish businesses would not promote poor quality products as 'free'. I probably could access their WiFi no more than for 3 times in all the time I was there and would last no more than 10 minutes."

Size limitations: Some campgrounds have restrictions on RV sizes or require specific hookups. In The Pines RV & Cabin Village offers a range of site options. "New Park with all the amenities you need, clean well kept facilities and grounds. Dog Park and nice mowed lanes for walks. Owner super nice and helpful," states one visitor.
