What to do
Fishing opportunities: Hideaway RV Park provides direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway for boaters and anglers. "Right on the Intercoastal waterway! Great spaces with plenty of room. Full hookups, very clean and well kept," notes Alan in his review of Hideaway RV Park.
Water activities: Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach offers multiple swimming options with four pools and a water park. "There are 4 pools and a water park for the kids. During the summer weekends they provide pool service for drinks which is really nice," explains Deb P. who stayed at Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach.
Entertainment amenities: Many campgrounds feature on-site recreational facilities beyond swimming. "The resort has a beach house directly on the beach with shuttle service," reports Deb P. about Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach. Another visitor mentioned, "It has a huge water park, mini golf, bowling ally and so much more."
What campers like
Spacious sites: Willow Tree RV Resort offers generously sized concrete pads with room for both RVs and vehicles. "The sites are huge and along the lake where I camped, they are angled so that you don't really see much of your neighbors," says Rose S. about Willow Tree RV Resort.
Clean facilities: Cleanliness ranks high among camper priorities. At Barefoot RV Resort, "The campground was very clean, and Wi-Fi was exceptional," according to Freddie D. who stayed at Barefoot RV Resort. "As soon as a camper pulls out, they pressure wash every site as needed. Hand clean the power boxes and sanitize the tables," adds Josh D.
Pet amenities: Dog-friendly facilities are common in the area. Hideaway RV Park features "a nice dog park with astro turf" that Terence called "the greatest" in his review. Willow Tree RV Resort has a "puppy beach" that remains open year-round, according to Tucker M.
What you should know
Distance to beaches: Most RV parks aren't directly on the beach but offer reasonable driving distances. "About 15 minutes to the beach. Pretty quiet and a nice park overall," explains Tammy K. about Hideaway RV Park. Similarly, Derek C. notes it's "an awesome campground about 15 minutes from the beach."
Reservations required: Demand is high, especially during peak seasons. "It is completely full!" notes Deb P. about Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach during New Year's week. At Willow Tree, "You can reserve up to 400 days out. Half of it is due at time of reservation and the rest at arrival," explains Tucker M.
Golf cart culture: Golf carts are popular transportation options at many resorts. "Electric golf carts are allowed and they have rentals on site," shares Deb P. about Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach. At Briarcliffe RV Resort, the location is "within walking distance of barefoot landing. So nice to have dining and shopping right next to your RV park," according to Kyle D.
Tips for camping with families
Kid-friendly activities: Look for campgrounds with dedicated children's amenities. "This place has everything, most campgrounds claim they are a resort when really there a dump. This place is a true resort," writes Chris H. about Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach. "Great for kids to ride their bikes and splash in the water park," adds Michele P.
Halloween events: Fall camping offers special activities. At Willow Tree RV Resort, "trick or treating was awesome for the kids, adults, and puppies. We briefly went to the Halloween bash but hurried over to go on the haunted hay right through the forest. It was really well done!" shares Tucker M.
Beach alternatives: When beach trips aren't feasible, CarrollWoods RV Park provides on-site options. "There were a variety of things to do. The pool, the winery, a couple of trips to the beach and surrounding area," notes Sheri F. The park also features "a pool, playground, volley ball court and horseshoe pits," according to Jen B.
Tips from RVers
Site leveling considerations: Concrete pads vary in quality between campgrounds. "Our site was concrete but in no way level, we had to use our leveling blocks to keep our auto leveling system from lifting wheels on our class c," reports Kyle D. about Briarcliffe RV Resort.
Off-season advantages: Winter camping offers quieter experiences. "The place is VERY quiet in the off season. We didn't have any neighbors in the surrounding spots," shares Ariel F. about North Myrtle Beach RV Resort. "The hot tub however was a great way to end our work days!"
Work-friendly amenities: Remote workers should check connectivity options. "We both work from home on hot spots and our Verizon connection was great," mentions Ariel F. At CarrollWoods RV Park, "T-mobile phone and hotspot work well, ATT hotspot ok," notes Robert M.
