I was so pleased with the reviews & photos I saw here on the Dyrt.. and then so let down with the reality. The site we were assigned upon arrival was right next door to a "resident" fifth wheel that appears to have been there since the campground opened, and two sites down from that is another just like it. Moldy, dirty, moss was dripping from every orafice of both RVs. A smell, something like a couch that has been chain-smoked on for 30 years, eminated from the one beside us, especially when the sun came out. Aside from that, our site was small, had a concrete "patio" that had this crazy rickety black iron fence around it that is DEFinitely a hazard - if leaned against, it would have just fallen right over. The picnic table wasn't even really on our site, as far as I could tell. It was mostly rotten and was closer to the Breaking Bad RV than it was to our site. Were we just supposed to move it? Who really knows. The bathrooms were just okay, I guess. There was only one in the area where we were near 20 RV sites, and there was a sign on the door that said, "Mop up after yourself" and there was definitely a mop just sitting there in the bathroom... but the shower had warm water, so... The worst part is that I didn't really feel comfortable letting my kids just roam free at this campground. Even though the little beach-y area next to the river was pretty to look at, there was glass all over the "sand" and I couldn't let them be barefoot EVER. Also, the "landscaping" was clearly not taken care of at all. The lesson I learned about private campgrounds - ask if they allow long-term stays and if they do ask what rules & regulations they have around that. Site did have full hook up that worked fine and my kids enjoyed being near the river.

We started our season out with this trip and had a blast. This was one of the best rv parks we have stayed at. We had a park that backed up to the big lake and had neighbors at both neighboring sites, we still had plenty of room. The people running the park were super friendly and took great pride in the park. We had firewood delivered to our site twice and they were very happy to do so. Big playground for our little girl and she had a blast. We will be returning soon.

We stayed at Green Mountain for three nights. We picked a site without really knowing the layout of the park. Our site was #4 and it was easy to park. We had a deck at our site which was a but problematic due to our steps folding out, it took some finagling and leveling to get it to where we could close our door. The whole camper ground is nicely taken care of with some site far up on some hills, so if you stay, ask about where the site is and how easy it is to get into, some looked wild! The restrooms are very primitive, remind me of old church camp bathrooms I used to go to haha. There are some hiking trails that are accessible from the park. You can pick up a map from the front office. It is mountainous so be aware the trails are quite steep and strenuous but not super long. We did hike up to an overlook area and the fall colors were amazing. There is a gate entry card that costs $15 outside of the Thousand Trails network but when you check out they return the $15 if you return the card. Overall, this was a decent Campground.

I stayed at Rutledge Lake RV Resort July 7-9, 2023. The site was pretty level and the staff was friendly. The sites are packed in fairly close together but my neighbors were all extremely quiet. My Starlink had great line of sight and I had no issues streaming video. My Verizon cell phone also got great reception.

Great location to all the hikes we planned on doing, looked like there were long term campers there that were nosy. Campsites are nice and spread out, however. Definitely recommend going during a busier season with a group of people. Went in beginning of October.
GuideI think if I could, I would stay here forever. Sites are by the river! It’s gorgeous! Peaceful and quiet as well. The only downside for some of you would be the acceptable size of RV/motorhome. We have a 28’ TT, I believe that is about the limit. Reservations are made by phone, very affordable. Oh, did I forget to say it’s full hook ups? :)

Nice and simple site that feels like it’s really in nature, but isn’t overly rustic. Pros: water, showers, flushing toilets, RV hookups, campsite, swimming, hiking, wooded & shady sites, clean. There isn’t too much of any one activity in/near the campground but lots more in the greater area. Cons: just plan to drive to another area if you’re staying for a few days (not really a con though). Not far from the Appalachian Trail, the TN/NC border, and highway 26. Asheville is about an hour away and is very charming.

We stayed here for two nights in our Casita. It was ideal for us…we were close to Hendersonville and Brevard so we got to explore both towns. Nice scenic drives to get to both also. Manager Mike is the heart of this campground. He is kind, friendly and very helpful. He met us as were pulling in and then walked us to our site and helped guide us backing in. He had treats in his pocket for our little dog every time we saw him.The bath house is one of the cleanest we have ever seen. There was also complimentary firewood at our site. Just a short distance from a big grocery store and also a shopping center with places to eat. It was quiet and Mike is right there ready to help anytime.
Full hook ups, gravel sites for RVs with concrete pads for picnic tables. We were able to park on the gravel and step right out on the concrete.
We would definitely come back if in the area again.

GuideThe location was great. Close to everything we wanted to do. We toured the Biltmore, slide down the sliding rock, and made some other stops in Pisgah National Forest. There is full hook ups so most people use the bathroom in their trailer. We used our toilet but chose to use the provided showers. They were older but clean. The ducks that wandered around were a bother. They pooped all over our carpet and other things. Other than that it was an average campground.

This is our 2nd time staying here for a quick overnight stay. I would definitely like to stay here longer! Even though it's very close to the interstate, it was very quiet. We had a full hook up site, relatively level. It had a picnic table and fire ring. Shower rooms, laundry room, and store, as well as snack shop! The camp hosts were very kind and friendly. ScoutMy husband and I, along with our 2 dogs, stayed at Rutledge Lake RV Resort for 1 night in our Mercedes Sprinter campervan. We prefer to make our reservations online, and found it a bit odd that they actually use a third party booking site that only submits a request to book so we didn't have a confirmed booking until mid-morning the day of our arrival. They also don't offer guaranteed site numbers so you don't know your site until you arrive. In addition, we found out after we arrived that due to the temps we were not supposed to use the water connections. We found it to be to be an extremely expensive reservation, especially given the inability to use the hookups we had purchased. For reference, we paid$68 for one night and had just completed a 4 night stay at another park for$74 total. While the lake was pretty, the sites are very narrow and there is zero privacy. There's also a fair bit of road noise as well. There don't seem to be a ton of great options in the Asheville area and since we needed WiFi in the morning for my husband's work meeting, we opted to stay here, but we wouldn't choose to stay here again in the future. For campers that like lots of amenities, perhaps this is a great fit, but it just wasn't worth it for us. I think it's also worth mentioning that in trying to use the key card the automatic gate dropped on the front of our vehicle, and then in order to park close enough to the hookups my husband hit a post when opening the driver's door.

People here where super friends and there are people working on the park keeping it clean everyday. Super close to town to go get dinner and supplies. Very close to Boone, Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you want a great Mexican meal go to Dos Amigos. We went three times because it was just that good.

KOA I-40/Crossville, TN - We stayed one night in October, full hook ups, 50 amp, good wifi until the evening but our cell service was good. $59.87 per night, $53.88 with KOA discount. Nicely maintained park with level concrete sites in the front with grass, fire rings and picnic tables that were in excellent condition. Friendly, welcoming staff with a nice gift shop/store. Hand dipped ice cream is available along with freshly made pizza and wings if you don’t want to cook. It does sit right next to Highway 70 into Crossville and can be noisy but it didn’t bother us. Each bathroom is a private toilet and shower, very clean, nicely tiled and plenty of hot water. Small laundry, two washers and two dryers but there may have been additional laundry towards the back of the park. The park seems to be broken down into three sections, concrete pad pull throughs in the front, then the office area, then a second section of sites with gravel pads and these are closest to the bathrooms, then further out is another area with a pond or small lake for catch and release fishing. Well manicured property. Would definitely stay again and the ice cream was really good.

Great little spot for a family get away. We came in late after leaving another place down the road that was just awful. They waited until we arrived even though it was after the office closed.
They have a lot of little activities during the day and even for the family. We would stay here again, I just wish it was a little cheaper ($57 a night full hook ups)and it would be nice if cell phone service was better as there is pretty much one bar everywhere you go in the camp ground for Verizon.

Weekend in the 28 foot Fifth Wheel. At the very top of the hill next to the llamas. Very private as you are next to a retaining wall and the last spot in the row.
Took my son for a weekend and we had a great time together. Doesn’t off any activities, we had brought a football and baseball glove and ball, they did have an area we were able to do that.
Bath house was nice if needed, they have full hook-up though. But, walk wasn’t a short walk.
For the price it was good and super quiet. Lots of year round campers.

Shes a little old school but if you give her the time and sit and talk with her youll know her intent. Been here a week and happy so far. The price is 600 a month, full hook up, the water is clean, cell service is 1-2 bars for att phone, enough to run my hotspot and stream movies and facetime, location is just outside yuppyville and close to everything. Id say give it a shot to someone looking
LegendWe found this campground on our way through Lenoir, NC. It was very pricey ($82 for one night - 30 amp, water, & sewer). We were assigned site 51. We were very clear during online registration and check-in that our RV was a 32-foot class C RV and we were towing our Jeep Wrangler. The site was almost impossible to get the RV into and we took up the entire very tight space (no room for our Jeep). At check-in we were told this was the only site available because we would only be here one night. The facilities are extremely dated and in need of repair and upkeep. Mostly long-term campers. Sites are all on top of one another. After getting into the site, we rode our bikes and saw many other open and more suitable sites. We were told that the manager was unavailable. The office closes and the gates lock at 8 pm and you need to purchase a $15 gate card if you want access after 8 pm. The $15 is refunded when you return the card upon checkout.
Bottom line is that we have camped at over 45 campgrounds in the past 18 months and this one was by highest priced and worst condition. We have stayed at a couple that we’re a little rougher around the edges, but cost about $25 per night. At $82 per night, we would not recommend this campground.

The price is not worth what you get. Sounds and looks great via computer. Spots are described as water front . Totally not true. We were charged full price of 86.06 per night for a spot without full hook up. The second day we were abruptly informed that we were in the wrong spot and we were demanded to move. We told the manager that we would just leave and asked for a refund for the 2nd night. After arguing for 30 minutes we were told we would get half off for the second Night . Terrible customer service for sure Place is a rip off for sure . We are local and will never go back

This place is lovely, an idyllic setting, wonderful hosts, very clean facilities, and a great location to explore the area. We spent 2 nights here and loved our site, the deck over the rushing stream was a perfect place to sip coffee in the mornings and whiskey in the evenings. The dog park gave our pup the chance to run free, the clean bathhouses gave us a place to freshen up and the location gave us the ability to explore all Asheville had to offer, climb to the top of Mount Mitchell (the highest point East of the Mississippi) and just enjoy the surroundings. Our site had a full hook up, electric and water (even with temps in the low 20's at night), we had a fire ring (or square), a picnic table perched on the deck, cantilevered over the stream, and lovely (back-in) site with privacy and shade. We can't wait to come back.
