With access to two lakes, a driving range, and a water slide, Baileyton KOA Holiday accommodates RVs up to 50 feet on mostly level gravel sites in the rolling hills of East Tennessee. The family-owned campground sits just miles from Interstate 81, making it a convenient overnight stop for travelers while offering enough amenities to extend stays.
The campground maintains a well-kept appearance with grass strips between sites providing some separation. Joel R. notes it's "very clean and tidy" with "clean bathroom & shower" facilities. Recent expansion work has created wider, longer sites that don't feel cramped, though seasonal campers occupy some areas. The bathhouses earn consistent praise for cleanliness, with one reviewer comparing them to hotel standards.
Recreation options center around water activities and family entertainment. The salt-water pool eliminates chlorine odors, while the large water slide draws families with children. A playground sits away from most campsites, and weekend activities include outdoor movie nights. The on-site store stocks basics and serves hand-packed ice cream. Mining activities for kids and hiking trails through the green spaces add to the activity roster.
Road noise from I-81 affects some sites, though the campground generally maintains quiet conditions. WiFi service runs slow according to multiple reports, and cell service varies by location. The gravel roads and sites handle big rigs well, though some pull-through sites may require leveling blocks. Around Pond RV Park provides an alternative just over a mile away for those seeking different amenities.
Full hookups, a dump station, and year-round operation make this KOA practical for both quick stops and longer stays exploring the Tennessee mountains.
Description
Mountains and streams provide the quiet country backdrop for this 50-acre KOA, with quick and easy access from I-81. There's so much to enjoy here: Tee up a bucket of balls at the on-site driving range, swish a pan in the gem mining sluice, cast a line in one of the spring-fed ponds, stroll along wooded hiking trails or join in planned themed activities (seasonal). For your stay, choose from a variety of RV Sites, Tent Sites, Cabins and even a tiny house. Visit historic Greeneville (a half-hour south), home of President Andrew Johnson. Race enthusiasts will discover roaring good fun at the nearby Volunteer Speedway dirt track or at Bristol Motor Speedway (less than an hour away). It's an easy day trip to the theme rides, live music shows and family entertainment at Dollywood. Pool: April 1 - September 15. Max pull thru: 75 feet.
