Devil Doc campsites is rustic, yet offers all of the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. 15 tent sites and a small cabin with a loft are available for your stay. There is a gutted out school bus and and a small camping trailer available too. There are 4 RV spots for boondocking and 2 more with full hookups water and 50 amp electric . No gray or black water dumping but this service can be done nearby at a NYS campsite.
Devil Doc also offers FREE firewood or can be purchased if you don't want to collect and build your owe fire. You can make friends and enjoy music at the communal patio or shoot some hoops at the basketball court. Also have a redneck outdoor gym too...lol.. There are 6 bikes for rental. I came up here with my dog for a solo camping trip for a couple of days to get away! Rich the host is super nice and answered any questions I had about staying/getting there. I had the whole camp ground to myself so that was even better. It is definitely off the beaten path but we'll worth it if your just trying to escape a little bit. But Verizon does get service. There are some nearby trails that are within 15 minutes of the camp ground which is also a plus. No need to bring Fire wood as there is a ton all around you. You can also buy from the host as well. There was a decent portapotty on the camp ground which is very nice to have. This was just what we needed. We really loved our stay and cant wait to go back! Thank you Rich!

Absolute worst campground we have ever been to(and we do a TON of camping in state parks both in NY and out of state and private campgrounds as well). When we arrived our site was covered in trash and the picnic table was in the site next to ours with old propane tanks sitting on them. Beer bottle caps and cigarette ends were EVERYWHERE on our site, crushed cans and bottles scattered around, tons of garbage throughout the site(plastic spoons, cardboard pieces, plastic wrappers, a huge metal pipe, etc.) We spent the first half hour there cleaning up all the trash on our site and we didn't even get it all. All of the sites next to us had just as much trash in them as well and were never cleaned up the duration of our stay either. When walking around we noticed tons of other sites with garbage left in them too. I don't think any of the sites are checked after checkout and if they are they are definitely not cleaned up at all after check out. We stayed on the'other side of the road' and the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and falling apart. They were never cleaned at all during our stay(although we seen workers sitting in the golf cart goofing around and talking several times instead of actually cleaning the bathrooms). The only thing the workers did was add toilet paper(and not even enough because there were several times we went and there was no toilet paper). We were there 5 nights and the trash can wasn't emptied once and none of the garbage or toilet paper on the floor was ever picked up. There was also poop smeared across the wall and door in the one stall and poop all over one of the other toilets that was like that our whole stay as well. Mirror was literally tapped together with black tape, there was only one faucet handle and locks on the stall were broken. We had to go across the street into the other side of the campground to shower and the showers were absolutely disgusting. Black mold covered the shower curtains, was all in the lights and on the lower and higher sections of walls and it smelled like mildew. It was gross and cannot possibly be safe. This is definitely a party campground and no quiet hours are enforced. People were up partying, drinking and blasting music literally all night. It's such a shame because the location of this campground is amazing and it has the potential to be a great campground but we will never go back. We have never been to any campground this dirty, unkempt and with workers who literally just don't care or do their jobs. Such a disappointment. Wish I had seen all the other bad reviews before going.

We stayed in the Venus yurt from Saturday August 3rd thru Thursday August 8th 2024. We were going to stay until the 10th, but we had an incoming hurricane and decided to leave before the exit flooded.
Overall, their website pictures are NOT current and I believe the reviews on their website to either be inaccurate or very old.
Day 1: the yurt smelled heavily of febreeze and was smaller than the pictures showed. The mattress, which had no cover on it, had been turned over(the bottom had nubs on it so it wouldn’t slide- this was face up). When we flipped it over, there were obvious fresh red fluid stains and other stains on the top of the mattress. For the price we paid, we would have expected either a waterproof cover enclosing the mattress or that the owners would have swapped out this mattress. The fact that the cleaning staff felt it was ok to turn it over expecting nobody to check was a bit revolting. We went to the office to get it removed, but the best they could do was provide 2 comforters to place between the mattress and our sheets.
When we left to meet up with friends, we found the door lock was broken. We could only lock it from the inside. Our friends were in RVs and apparently the site was digging for new sewer lines, so when the wind shifted, we got a fresh scent of raw sewage.
When we went to take showers at the facility nearest the yurts, we found there was no hot water, the showers had to be pumped to run(no continuous water flow in either the showers or the sinks), and only 1 of the 4 stalls had lockable doors. Both of these were reported to the office the following morning.
Day 2: found that by the store were 6 showers with hot, continuously running water. 3 were out of service and only 1 locked. This was reported to the store/office multiple times.
The lifeguard on duty at the smaller pool across from the store was sitting down in a regular chair with a table with an umbrella between her and the pool, face down in her phone with one hand, holding her sunglasses up with her other hand, while 3 small children(~8 years old) were sliding and playing unsupervised. As a former life guard/ wave pool certified lifeguard, I would have fired her on the spot. That is an unacceptably dangerous situation.
The mini golf course was in disrepair, the arcade was empty of machines, and the activities touted on their website were nonexistent.
The charcoal grill, which we would have used, had a large rusted hole in the bottom right side taking out~25% of the usable bottom, making it basically useless. Thank goodness for butane camp stoves.
Day 3: shower lock situation had not improved(did not improve during our stay despite the office being made aware) Our neighbors left the yurt to our left and the person cleaning the yurt did a cursory cleaning at best. No sign of COVID cleaning discipline whatsoever. We spent the majority of the day offsite
Day 4: lawn mowing started at 8:15 am. The grass absolutely did not need to be mowed. Very loud stand behind rider mower that kicked up dust more than anything as it had been very dry. Took them~3 hours. As a person on vacation, this clearly woke me up early. Very disappointing.
Day 5: got a bit cold in the early morning, so we turned on the heat. It blew dust, filled the entire yurt with a burning smell and caused my partner to use her rescue inhaler. We turned it off quickly, opened the door and 2 windows to clear the air, and found the heater had not been cleaned.
Day 6: decided to leave due to the pending hurricane. As I was checking out, a gentleman checking in was told he had been moved further into the campsite in case the river flooded and was told that, if the river did flood, they had a plan and to not be surprised to see RVs in the road. That was their plan?!?!?
Overall, we will not be returning and will not be recommending this to anyone. If anything, we will encourage anyone looking to camp in the Adirondacks to avoid this campground.

Do you enjoy staying up until sunrise, underage drinking, staff that don’t give AF, and rules that don’t matter? Then this is the state park for you! I wanted to give the park a try even with all the bad reviews, because the location is awesome. Now I realize the views are not worth it if you’re sleep deprived. I thought since it was a not a holiday weekend it wouldn’t be that bad, I was wrong. If you still plan on coming, I’d avoid the first week in August. Some garbage family from New Jersey rents out a bunch of sites and gives their teenagers their own site, because they hate them too. All in all, it was not a good time. There are plenty of other parks around if you want to actually enjoy camping. This one isn’t it. 10/10 would not recommend 👎

Highlights of the trip included a somewhat secluded site by the river, pavilion tater tots and the pool. This campground was once thriving with activities and events and a real sense of community. Now, it seems hollow and unkept. Bathrooms and Showers were filthy.

This campground has it all. Heated pool, great store, large sites, surrounded by trees, events, soft serve ice cream, tube rentals to float on the creek (river). FHU as well as tent sites and cabins. We love staying here, the facilities are clean and big showers.
RangerThis campground is the northwest side of the lake. There are not many amenities or services for the phones but that could be good if you want an off the grid type of camping. We were lucky enough to score a few days in one of the group sites. They had a bathroom with just a potty & sink. At the end of the site, they had water that was able to be used to clean dishes but not consume. The views out the camper were just amazing. The bathroom with the showers by the beaches were gross, and the amount of crap on the ground was super unacceptable, like people haven't cleaned it in weeks. The showers up closer to the sites were very nice and clean. They have a cool beach but make sure to bring water shoes because everything is gravel. I wish they had a playground for kids to play. We brought bikes but it was very hard to ride with the hills and gravel so we didn't use then often. We moored our boat directly out from out site and you could swim out to it. Great lake, super clean, beautiful breeze can't wait to go back.

The roads are through the campground are very tight making backing into a spot very difficult. There was very little grass around the sites, mainly dirt. They also charge for every extra activity. In general just too tight for my liking.

The good: large, spacious, private sites that are all fairly level and all about the same size. Beautiful pool with 2 water slides, arcade, and cafe that wasn’t opened during the week but will be starting July 1. Clean facilities.
Store was fairly well stocked with things you might’ve forgot to pack. Staff was nice.
The not so good: lots of rules and charges for every little thing, our walkie talkies picked up on staff conversations and we heard they wanted to charge a family a guest fee for a delivery driver if he was on site more than 15 minutes, Showers cost money at $0.25 per 4 minutes, no wifi at all and poor cell reception, pool is NOT heated as they state all over their website, trash is not picked up, no activities or anything to do other than swim. Far from downtown Lake George and no trolley service, charges for early arrival regardless of whether sites is available or not and you can’t sit in their parking arrival area and wait.
I would not choose this campground again. It wasn’t horrible. There is so much more they could offer for their resort prices that they charge. Drove through Lake George RV resort on Rt. 149 and I think I’d choose that campground next time.
Check out the boats you ride on Lake George! The Adirondack is dog friendly! Get the coupon at the arcade for $3 off the $25 cost. Frontier Town gift shop on Rt 9 with the big teepee out front had great selection of stuff for good prices. Northway Brewing was fun with good beer!

We stayed at Meadowbrook over Memorial Day weekend in 2024. It's an average campground, but has a really good location between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake.
Our site had the standard DEC picnic table and fire pit. There are showers (the hot water was broken the day we were there, but the attendant said we could go to nearby campgrounds to use theirs), toilets, and water spigots. I had decent Verizon signal.
The sites were clean, but the fire pit was showing its age. We stayed in site 37, which was a bit more private and surrounded by trees. The sites in the two loops closest to Rte 86 (#1-13, 27-34, and 51-62) were much closer together, and some didn't have trees between sites. Even at our more "isolated" site, we could still see our neighbors.
The bathroom was actually one of the nicest I've seen in a DEC campsite; it looked like it had recently been rebuilt.
There are positives and negatives about the location. On the plus side, there's ice cream and places to eat within walking distance. We also forgot lunch for our hike the next day and were able to walk to a convenience store to grab supplies. And if you're doing things in Lake Placid and Saranac, the location is tough to beat. On the minus side, there's a bit of road noise and some of the campsites looked like they had great views of a parking lot.

GuideMy wife, our 3-year old son and myself had the pleasure of spending 10 beautiful weeks at West Canada Creek Campground.
From our first interaction to the time we left and every moment in between the owners of the campground were welcoming, kind, friendly and just overwhelming pleasant.
Under new ownership as of Summer 2022. The new owners, Imrana and Jason, made us feel welcomed from the moment we checked in. Whether it be making recommendations for food, sightseeing or things to do in the area. Jason even went as far as stopping by our site to make sure everything was up to our satisfaction.
The property is clean and well manicured. The camp store is well stocked. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well kept. The laundry room is clean and machines are new.
The West Canada Creek wraps around the entire property and provides such a tranquil backdrop. The sites are surrounded by lush oaks and pines. Makes it feel as though you are truly immersed in nature. Most of the sites are fairly level, either gravel or grass.
The campground also has a tubing business on property with an upstream shuttle as well as an ice cream stand! There is a playground with slides and swings as well as a swimming pool. There is a beach volleyball court, half court basketball and horseshoe pits.
We stayed on three different sites (2 partial hookups, 1 full hookup). Each site was level and easily accessible.
Throughout our 10 weeks there, we encountered dozens and dozens of guests who have been returning to this campground year after year.
Their themed weekends and accompanying activities throughout the season are wonderful. We had the pleasure of staying for Labor Day weekend in which they had a kids carnival set up among many other things. Their Halloween weekend is truly a must see, with wagon rides and trick-or-treating! This weekend like many others fill up nearly a year in advance. Return guests reserve their spot the following year before they even check out.
There are a number of seasonal sites with repeat guests who return year after year. Everyone we met was friendly and hospitable. The seasonal guest sites are well kept and clean and gives the campground a safe and serene atmosphere.
The guests at the seasonal sites are invested in this campground, volunteering for the themed weekends. A vast majority of them go all out for Halloween weekend, decorating their sites and RV’s.
Having had the opportunity to be on property for an extended time, I personally witnessed the dedication and love the owners are pouring into this campground daily. They continue to make improvements and updates that not only made our time here more enjoyable, but will certainly guarantee current and future guests will be returning year after year.
We had a tremendous time here and would highly recommend visiting. We will certainly be returning. We are so happy to have been apart of the West Canada Creek Campground family.

Seasonal camper since 2011. On July 1st my wife and I along with a few others were struck by lightning. Owner made no effort to reach out to anyone and see how they were. I made our disappointment known and for that we were thrown out. Used the worst language you could imagine in front of our kids. Called us all miserable fucks and told us we could get the fuck out now. I don’t need your bullshit. Family oriented campground? It’s to bad you have to give any stars.
ScoutWe have been camping here Seasonal for 12 years. On July 1,2023 myself and husband we struck by lightning. My kids seeing this happening. 911 was called we were transported to the hospital. We thank all EMTS and Staff for everything they did for us! Both EMT from 2 different agencies stated they would like maps of the park as they never know where to go once in there. The Owner of this campground went onto another media platform bragging about how great everything was handled which it was. My husband and myself both commented our thanks and appreciation. Not once did the owner reach out via text, phone call, email and driving by our site looking the other way did he check on us! My husband and myself commented on this platform stating this! We were truly disappointed with the owner. The owner commented back to us that he was on our deck speaking with myself! He was not speaking with me as I was in the camper getting medical attention. He has no clue who his Seasonal campers are! Fast forward to getting our contract renewal we did not receive one after 12 years. We went to try to speak with the owner as we approached he started screaming get off my property or I’m calling the cops. Now my kids were with us watching this happen he went on to call us miserable fucks amongst many other nasty names! Then proceeded to text me harassing messages. Needless to say my kids could have lost both of their parents and they watched us get struck by lightning then watched him call us nasty names!! The owner is very unstable. Just one of the harassing messages I received from him! I was literally on your front porch checking on you BEFORE the paramedics even arrived. As you clearly stated, there were several people in and out of your camper checking on you, leaving no room for me to even enter. So, I stayed out of the way while making sure paramedics could get to you and the others. The paramedics official report shows that both of you went to the hospital ONLY as a precaution. So, Stop evolving your story to justify your undertones of bitterness. So, STOP playing the victim that I was rude and angry when you were on my front porch after you were so utterly disrespectful to me, my staff, and other seasonals. STOP complaining that I never got to know you and your children. Spin that one around. Why didn’t you come to any of the events we put together and be friendly and chatty with me? Tons of other seasonals do. Furthermore, try complaining to the CEO of Walmart that he doesn’t know who you are or what you look like. I have absolutely no need to approach any guest as long as they are happy and they aren’t bothering anyone.“The Owner” and“This Place”.“Take a minute out of his day”. I refuse to allow anyone in my park that has such underlying hate. Please have your seasonal friends throw their temper tantrums at me as well so I can kick them out as well if they’re going to behave like you.

One of the better KOA campgrounds I’ve been to. Beautiful campground, well-maintained nice staff. Like any campgrounds there’s good and bad spots. We parked our camper along the river in the back and it was fabulous.

This is a gorgeous campground on the banks of Fish Creek Pond and Square pond close to Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake.
Very site has water access, and the water is super shallow all along the shoreline. It’s perfect for dogs, kids, and hanging out in the water. The bottom is sandy with some rocks, good to have water shoes but not essential. Sites 65-100 get a great view of the sunset! Our site was level and dry, as were the surrounding sites. There’s not much brush on the sites and there are lots of old, tall trees, so I had tons of places to put up our dogs tie out, my hammock, and the clothes line.
There were clean bath houses everywhere and one shower building on the west side of Square Pond. I was surprised by the number of bathrooms, you’ll never be far from one while camping here.
Over all, one of my favorite camping weekends ever, it was a gorgeous spot for water sports and great for a run or bike ride. Don’t sleep on this spot!

From Erie Canal cruising to tubing down the west Canada to mining for Herkimer Diamonds, there are plenty of things to see and do. Not too far from Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown and about 1.5 hours from Saratoga, there is plenty to se and do.
ScoutI'm very upset with the fact that I have to be writing this review, as I've been going to Rogers Rock Campground with my family since I was a baby(and I'm now 24). But- this year was an absolute disgrace and NYS nor the campground did anything about it. My family and I will never be going back there due to our terrible experience this year. Incident#1: The campground used to have a grounds keeper or a trooper who would drive around to make sure that campers were safe and following the quiet hours at night time, to be respectful of all of the campers in tents. This year, they had neither. This was a huge issue because the campers next to us were partying(extremely loud) until 5:30 a.m. in the morning... I wish I was exaggerating. We could not fall asleep and telling them to please be quiet ourselves only made it worse as they were disrespectful people who told us to screw off. Back in the day, they would've been kicked out of the campground after 2 warnings if they were loud during quiet hours. This happened 2 nights in a row(Friday and Saturday night) which completely ruined our trip since we were forced to sleep during the day due to how exhausted we were. I very nicely expressed how upset we were after Friday night, and the campground said they would come around to tell them to be quiet going forward. I'm not sure if they did, but Saturday night was the same- and when I went up to the front around 12:30 a.m. to let them know they were still making noise, no one was there. There was a sign to call a non emergency line to reach the campground off-hours but no one even answered it. So, we had to deal with partying until 5:30 a.m. for a second night in a row. When we were checking out, I asked if we could please get a refund for those two nights/days since we were completely out of commission due to the campground failing to enforce their rules. We were met with dazed and confused looks, saying they would file a claim with the NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation to see if we can get our refund processed. 2 weeks later, we received a letter stating"we are unable to offer refunds for events, decisions or circumstances that are beyond the Department's control" and signed by Jessica L. McBride, Campground Program Supervisor. So, they are telling me they have no control over enforcing their OWN campground rules...? Because they sure did every other past years we've been there! So, since receiving this letter- I am writing this as a warning to other families to not use this campground as they are understaffed and do not enforce their guidelines/ care about their paying campers. If people at the campground decide to party till 5 a.m., you are just going to have to deal with it. It's a free-for-all now. Incident#2: Saturday night around 2 a.m. while we were up due to the noisy campers next to us, we heard a very loud crash and bang(it was very scary) and noticed that a tree very close to one of the sites(with campers on it) had fallen down in the woods. The tree was so tall, that if it had fallen the opposite way, it would have hit those campers at that site(so extremely dangerous). Thank God it fell the opposite way. But after that, we were super freaked out and concerned. That's another thing the campground should and used to be doing- they would check all of the trees within the radius of the camp sites to make sure to take down any dead trees or trees that had potential of falling. But apparently, not anymore! While we were there, two trees fell(that one and another one right over the bridged entrance after the main bathrooms). So, just another example of it being a free-for-all campground with no safety protocols or services they promise being enforced. Just wanted to share my family's experience in the hopes that it may deter other families from dealing with what we had to deal with while we were there. There are so many campgrounds on LG, I would suggest to definitely find one that is safe and stress-free for your family! Cause Rogers Rock is the exact opposite of that, sadly.
