Okay

The campground itself isn’t great; there is not much in it. The sites have water and electricity; which is certainly a treat in the high peaks, but that’s really all that’s great about the campground itself. However, it is centrally located and is really only 15 minutes from Lake Placid. There isn’t much there but there is a lot around that makes it worth while to stay there.

Great Location, Solid Amenities

Or site was large enough for two double tents, a hammock, and 2 vehicles. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. The office sells firewood. Both bath houses were adequate, even containing shampoo and body wash. Staff was friendly. Some if the sites are rather close to each other, and the proximity to the road was noticeable but my white noise app dealt with that while I slept. Prices were more than fair for what was provided.

Great location, friendly customer service, solid amenities

I agree with some other reviewers that the proximity to the road does detract a little bit. But at night time when you're sleeping it doesn't seem to be much of a problem, though a white noise app on your phone would help.

My site was large enough for two double tents, a hammock, and if needed, two cars. The nearby bathroom and shower we're basic, but certainly adequate. They even provided soap and shampoo in the showers. I will say the toilet paper was the single ply version. Not a deal breaker, just for your information. I thought the rates were extremely reasonable. The campsites can be on top of each other, but if there is space they didn't seem to have any problem relocating at someone's request as we saw one couple do. I will definitely stay here again.

Perfect location and quiet

No noisy neighbors even on a Saturday night. Great cell reception with Verizon; what more do you need. Yes, there is road noise. Trade off for the closeness to ADK trailheads.

Great spot amongst the Adirondacks

We had a full hookup, pull through site surrounded by trees. There was some road noise during the day but it was nice and quiet at night. The bathhouses looked very "rustic" but we didn't use them. Nice field, swings and small palyground for kids. Close to hiking and Lake Placid!

Good location to hike ADK

Tent camped here several times in past few summers. Good location for major trailheads and near by lake placid keene. Tent sites are not very big. Although weconfortavly fit with one vehicle. Free hot showers.

Nice areas for tents, plus private cabins

This site has good tent sites that are separate from RV area and rental cabins. Very reasonable rates and friendly staff, also showers on site tho they're a bit rustic. Great experience; if you tent, try to grab a spot on the outer ring for a quieter time, larger space and better views

Not my favorite.

This campground was mediocre in my opinion. It was right off the highway and there was a lot of road noise. Also, the campground is literally in the middle of a neighborhood, which wasn’t my favorite environment. The campground did have free showers and decent bathrooms. Considering the scarcity of good campgrounds in the area, this was an okey choice.

Perfect location

We tented here late in the season so it was very quiet. We really enjoyed our experience here and the location to the high peaks couldn’t be better. The staff was great! The only negative I could really give is that the sites are a little bit difficult to navigate and find, especially when arriving at dusk. Bathrooms were nice and the sites are pretty secluded. They did have a few lean to sites also.

Campground with options

Great campground with secluded sites most with woods behind each site, especially the tent area. The RV and tent camping is well separated and there are different kinds of RV space available as well. The showers are a bit gross, but free. The cabins look nice but a little close together. They don’t pick up the phone right away so call a few times to get ahold of someone. We had water/electric for a trailer at $35 a night in perfect location between Keene Valley and Lake Placid. Sites were clean and the fire pits were beautiful! We camped in site 45 and were pleasantly left alone.
