Covid-19 restrictions: Some campgrounds implemented specific policies. "Due to Covid-19, there is to be no interaction with other campers and a mask must be worn when walking around campground. Game room facilities: Indoor recreation options for rainy days. "Near the play ground they have a nice game room pool, air hockey, video games. There is a change machine too," explains Sara H. about Lake Bluff's indoor amenities.
Pool facilities: Most family-friendly campgrounds maintain swimming pools separate from lakefront areas. "Spent 3 nights with our 2 sons and my husbands 2 granddaughters, all under age 12. Bathrooms/showers were clean. Site we stayed at had full hook ups. Very nice camp store, pools, playground, and restaurants," reports Becky about Brennan Beach Campground.

Check-in efficiency: Busy weekends can create arrival challenges. "It was PACKED on the weekend, but they have a really efficient check in process and the staff is super nice. Probably some of the nicest campground staff we've met yet," shares Kristen L. about Brennan Beach's operations.
Site leveling challenges: Several campgrounds have uneven terrain requiring additional setup time. "Almost all of the sites are not even close to level. Not a big issue with a fifth wheel but a real hassle with a motorcoach," warns Donna C. about Red's Twilight on the Erie RV Resort.
Canal access considerations: Some campgrounds advertise Erie Canal proximity but require additional travel to reach it. "Very few of the sites actually sit on the canal and access to the footpath is a good 1/2 mile or better walk or ride. I know they are really working hard to get this place up to speed and I hope they continue to improve it," advises Donna C. about access limitations.
