Best Cabin Camping near Hemlock, NY

Several state parks and private campgrounds near Hemlock, New York provide rustic cabins with varying amenities and comfort levels. Letchworth State Park Campground offers spacious cabins equipped with bunk beds, stoves, refrigerators, and fireplaces. "The cabins are spacious, with bunk beds, a stove, fridge, and a fireplace. I thought they might be close together, yet they were all pretty private, with a fire ring and picnic table," notes one visitor. Conesus Lake Campground features cabin rentals in a lakeside setting with clean single-person bathrooms nearby. Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill provides newer cabins with ample beds and space, while Watkins Glen State Park Campground includes cabins nestled among hardwood forests with access to clean shower facilities and playgrounds.

Most cabins in the region operate seasonally, typically from May through mid-October, with specific opening dates varying by location. Pet-friendly cabins are available at select campgrounds, though policies differ significantly—Letchworth State Park, for instance, allows pets only in designated loops with a two-dog limit. KOA cabin camping options near Canandaigua offer both basic and deluxe accommodations, with one reviewer noting their cabin was "barebones but clean, had a TV, small refrigerator, a bunk bed and full bed. Plenty of room for two people." Reservations are essential during peak summer months, especially for weekend stays, as cabin availability becomes limited quickly. Some locations like Watkins Glen offer lower weekday rates and second-night discounts.

Visitors should check what supplies are included with each cabin rental, as amenities vary widely. While most cabins provide beds and basic furniture, guests typically need to bring their own bedding, pillows, towels, and toiletries. Some cabins include running water, heating systems, and basic kitchen facilities, while others are more primitive. "We stayed in a cute cabin with running water, a stove, and a heater for cold nights! Outside we had a picnic table and a campfire pit," reports one Letchworth visitor. Camp stores at larger facilities stock essential items, firewood, and ice, though prices may be higher than at grocery stores in nearby towns. For extended stays, bringing cooking equipment, dishwashing supplies, and food storage containers is recommended, especially for cabins without full kitchens.

    Letchworth State Park Campground

A little gem with a lot to do

Cabin campers here at letchworth for the past two years. We stumbled on cabin camping at letchworth due to weekends being booked for almost the entire summer for tent spots. the cabins are spacious, with bunk beds, a stove, fridge, and a fire place. i thought they might be close together, yet they were all pretty private, with a fire ring and picnic table. There was a beautiful updated playground, and clean bathrooms. Last summer they had just opened the new nature center with guided hikes, and activities all summer long.

Great for the falls, swimming, hiking, white water rafting, kayaking and so much more!

    Watkins Glen State Park Campground

Watkins Glen State Park, New York

Campers arriving at Watkins Glen State Park are immediately captivated by its dramatic gorge scenery, where 19 waterfalls cascade through narrow stone walls. Their campsites are nestled among hardwood forests, offering a perfect balance of sunlit clearings and shady retreats. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, making it easy to prepare meals after a day spent exploring the park’s famous Gorge Trail. The park’s facilities blend rustic charm with modern comforts: clean flush toilets, hot-water showers, and convenient potable water stations. Hiking enthusiasts appreciate the interconnected trail system, which includes the popular Rim Trail for elevated views of the gorge, as well as more secluded footpaths through hemlock groves. Families particularly enjoy the nearby swimming pool and easy-access picnic areas overlooking Seneca Lake. To simplify travel logistics for out-of-state visitors, many campers opt to pre-book an airport transfer so they can arrive at Ithaca or Elmira–Corning Regional Airport and head straight to the park without the hassle of car rentals. Those planning to explore multiple stops along the Finger Lakes often choose the provider’s reliable city-to-city rides for comfortable, door-to-door transportation between destinations. All in all, Watkins Glen State Park delivers an unforgettable combination of awe-inspiring gorge hikes, well-appointed campsites, and family-friendly amenities. Campers seeking both adventure and relaxation will find this New York treasure hard to surpass.

    Flint Creek Campgrounds

Great activities, friendly hosts, full hook ups!

Close to wine country you will find this gem of a family campground. Dog and kid friendly with activities such as wagon rides, arts and crafts, movie night and various themed weekend events. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming during our entire stay. An easy back in site with full hookups (B10) backed against a row of trees and a field that provided much entertainment of squirrels and birds. There is a camp store with very reasonable prices and accepts credit cards. Wood ($4) and ice ($2) are also for sale. There are two small cabins to rent along with a couple of family tent sites. The bathrooms/showers were clean near the camp store. Amenities include a pool, mini golf ($1/person), two playgrounds, horseshoes, a recreation center with games and movies, basketball and shuffle board. There are many seasonal campers at this campground, but all seemed friendly and welcoming as well. It truly seemed like one big happy family there.

    Letchworth State Park Campground

    Beautiful place

Letchworth is absolutely stunning. The views are beautiful, however the scenic areas are at least a 10 minute drive from the campground. The park is massive.

There is a huge variation in site sizes. We lucked out and got a large site with privacy and an area for the kids to run around, however the site directly across from us was little more than the gravel pad and fire pit. Some of the sites are right on top of each other. Great for group camping, not so much if you want any privacy.

Only two out of the 8 loops (200 and 700 loops) have updated bathrooms (single toilet with handheld showers in half of the bathrooms). The others loops have older facilities with three traditional toilet stalls and two showers.

We loved our site but would’ve preferred to stay in a loop with the updated bath houses as we have younger children and a tent trailer.

All sites have electricity. Some loops are pet friendly, some are pet free. The camp store has a good selection of necessities, albeit expensive for discount brands. The pool is 4-5 miles down the road from the camping area.

    Would absolutely camp here again.

Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill

    Wonderful!

Great secluded tent camping (recomend numbers 7 and 8), cabins are new and ample beds and space. Camper camping is close to everything, but less privacy. Numerous pavilions that are wonderful for parties or weddings. Stunning overlook that is breathtaking (also great for weddings). Hiking, bike trails, fishing pond, playground, open fields for sports, much more!!! Great for photo shoots, weekend stress getaways etc. I live close by and visit a few times a month.

    Conesus Lake Campground

Camping with amenities, close to fun

This is your typical Mom and Pop family campground, there are rules to follow but they do not hinder on your experience. They have a well stocked camp store, boat rentals, golf cart rentals, an indoor heated pool, jump pad, playgrounds, a hiking trail and frisbee golf. The bottom portion of the campground has mostly seasonal campers and cabins. You do have to go up a pretty steep hill to get to the 'transient' camping section, but there are many pull through, level, full hook up sites to choose from. ( We had site 250 and really liked it) The bathrooms were toilet/shower combos and were very clean. Attractions close by is a drive-in with 4 different screens, many places to eat, parks ( Vitale Park was really nice), a fun center with mini golf, go carts, batting cages, laser tag and arcade. We also experienced the local flea market in Avon, NY. It's HUGE!

    Darien Lakes State Park Campground

    Clean/Quiet Campground

9/25-9/29/22- The park was nearly empty, perhaps 6 or 8 other campers widely spread out. It was immaculate and the sites well spaced apart. All site have a picnic table and fire pit. Ours had both 30A and 50A power, was pretty level left/right but about 6” high in front before we leveled our 34’ fifth wheel. The park has drinking water faucets at a variety of places throughout, but site#15 has a faucet directly next to it, so we had water available too. Both AT&T 4G and Verizon 5G had 3 bars reception. The dump station was clean and convenient. It looked like a great place for kids that included at least one (probably more) playground.
