No cell service, expensive

Really expensive for a basic campground with rundown facilities. No signal either.

Great Dispersed Camping!

It's about a 6 miles drive in on a forest road. Nice gravel road and well maintained.

Dozens of spots to park your rig with tree cover along the main loop. Lots of small roads off of the main loop with more camp spots. Some of those roads were not accessible by our van, as they are a little…

Super cozy

Sleeping surrounded by the trees was awesome. It was so calm. Not a lot of cars drive through the road right beside it, so it’s pretty quiet.

Road closed to area

Unable to access this location via the directions on the Dryt app as the road was closed due to danger from prior fire in the area. Ended up camping off Dry Mills Trail lower on FSR 117.

Camp with cows, moo!

Great little spot next to pit toilets in the Sacramento district of the Lincoln NP. Easy to find and can get there with 2wd no problem. This is a super popular spot on the weekend so the camping area and parking lot were PACKED all day when we were there on Saturday. Cleared out Sunday. Big…

Great place but two BIG caveats

We just spent two nights here(in early May, 2021) and there are many great things, but we also had two big problems.

Problem one (probably only an issue in 2021). The sites, and in fact most the campground, have been re-blacktopped. It LOOKS great. So shiny and new. But the stuff is still…

Nice family owned RV park

Stayed at this Rv park in march of 2019. A clean park located in the middle of Capitan New Mexico. The location is very convenient about 20 miles from Reuidoso 25 or so miles from Carrizozo and Fort Stanton in the east the receptionist Sharon is very contentious and helpful.

Baca is the ultimate in dispursed camping

Baca dispersed camping is a great camping area that has a lot to offer. Very remote, lots of wildlife, elk, coyotes, roadrunners. This place was once a CCC camp in the 1930s,. There is no water on the premises so you must bring your own. No trash faculties, so pack it in, pack it out. Only 15…

Excellent

This place is a hidden treasure. Located at about 6500 feet elevation on the eastern slope of the Sacramento Mountains this campground is a perfect launching pad for daytrips to many local attractions. The Rio Penasco River runs right through the park and offers the opportunity to catch a trout…

Such a beautiful place

We took our new little camper and two daughters to Baca Campground for a quick overnight. We live in Roswell and it is only a short drive to this campground. We got there around 5 or so on a Saturday night and it was not busy at all. Bathrooms were open and that is a big sell for us as our camper…

Stunning

I have never seen so many stars. It is a beautiful scene, there are a lot of trees burned down but we saw wild horses, deer, and massive dropping either of Elk or Bear.

Highly recommend. If you prefer a campground with clean bathrooms, there is the Skyline campground at a lower altitude.

Nice place

We tent camped at Silver Lake Campground on the Mescalero Reservation over Labor Day weekend 2020. It was packed. Kind of a free-for-all without clear tent sites, just like find your own fire ring. But we found a good spot. The campground cleared out on Labor Day and we had the place to ourselves,…
