The unpaved access road to 16 Springs requires careful navigation, with narrow sections and rough, bumpy stretches that test RV handling skills. This forested campground sits in New Mexico's high country, accommodating RVs up to 50 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections.

Elk frequent the area during morning and evening hours, with their calls audible throughout the night. The campground provides wide open spaces for walking and exploring the surrounding woodland terrain. Owners make regular rounds throughout the day, checking on campers and offering assistance as needed. Cell service requires a drive into town, making this location well-suited for those wanting to disconnect from digital distractions.

Sites feature standard RV amenities including a dump station, restrooms, and shower facilities. Campfires are permitted, and pets are welcome on the property. The elevation and forest setting create conditions for exceptional stargazing after dark. MinnieWinnie A. notes that "once you get there, the views are wonderful." Reservations are available for securing preferred dates.

Campers wanting easier road access might consider Silver Lake Campground to the northwest.

Remote campsite no wifi

The road to get to 16 springs is not paved all the way and it can be narrow at certain points. Our Minnie Winnie handles turns very well and it had no problems getting there. The road is bumpy and can be rough at some points. Once you get there, the views are wonderful. The owners are helpful and drive around to check on you. There is a wide open space to walk around but no wi fi unless you drive into town. If you are planning to disconnect, this is the perfect place. We have camped there twice and had a great experience.

Sights for days

This RV campsite is absolutely phenomenal! The views are absolutely priceless we stayed in spots 5 and 7 and wow! We saw elk every morning and evening you can hear them through the night and the stars were brighter than I've ever seen. The owner of the camp site would drive by 4 or 5 times a day checking if we needed anything. We are definitely going back!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤

Absolutely amazing spot!

We stayed here for 5 days. Our view was absolutely amazing you can't ask for a better one. The couple that run it were great as well they made sure we got settled in and they drove by 4 or 5 times a day just to make sure we didn't need anything. The area was quiet tons of deer and elk came in daily. We will definitely stay here in the future!
