Green Acres at Red Brick Farmhouse

      Amazing!

Stayed 1 wonderful peaceful night. Electric hookups, water available & shower. Out in the country surrounded by corn fields. Owned by a lovely couple who reside on the property in their old farmhouse. Not far off of I70, but absolutely no road noise. A great place to stay after a long day of driving. Would absolutely stay here again.

      Nice for overnight

Just stopped for one night on our way east. Friendly host checked us in. Nice dog park with bench and shade. All sites are FHU. They offered to move us to a pull thru, but I picked our site based on proximity to the dog park, so I declined the move. We were in site 38, back-in 30 amp. Sites are a bit tight but no one next door so ok. I recommend for a stopover. Less fancy but nicer for dogs imo than Owl Creek which is one exit away. There is a pond for fishing (no license required) and a swimming pool.

      Amazing memories here

Beautiful park. Pay more for the pull through you’ll have tons of parking even if your rig is big. Our rig is 44 ft and we parked two 2500’s on the pad no problem. We reserve our days in advance and if we need to cancel we just change our reservation to a different date with no fees. The pool and clubhouse are well kept so are the bathrooms and laundry room. This Is our favorite campsite to date. So much to do.

Nice place, but just didn't care for how much the cops drove threw nonstop, we are camping to get away from people and doesn't make me feel at peace wondering why so many cops always drive thru.

      Small but cute

This is definitely a smaller campground, but when communicating with the owners they were super nice and accommodating. We have a rooftop tent in our car, so we parked in one of the tent sites down by the creek and we had a very private space away from all of the RVs. The facilities were also very clean. There is a private indoor accessible toilet, as well as a hot shower and laundry. There are also indoor and outdoor games on site. Since we were closer to the pond it was pretty buggy, but putting on some bug spray helped.

      Basswood Country RV Resort

      Very mixed bag

We booked a site here on our drive back East in August 2023. I saw “resort” and was like “Sign me up” after some real hot and grimy parks earlier in the trip.

Ultimately, most of the amenities were closed by the time we arrived. The game room, the restaurant, and store were all closing or closed. My kids did get some pool time (it was a nice pool) and loved the blob (whatever you call the bounce pads). There was a nice playground, pavilion and courts.

What is weird is that this is almost two parks - the front is the “resort” or old-fashioned campground, but where we were placed was in the back with what looked like a lot of long-term, single male residents. It was a longish-walk to front where the pool and store was and it definitely didn’t feel like a resort.

There were spots open in the front closer to the pool and lake - if we had camped there I think the experience would have been different.

      We absolutely adored this campground.

We spent about two weeks here around September . It’s well maintained and the staff was so friendly. If we are ever in the area we will definitely stay here again. The market is a great touch.

      Decent spot

It was quiet. We enjoyed our stay. I read about the black cat that was found there in the other review. It was still there when we camped in late December and quite hungry. Very friendly and needing love. We brought him home with us and he is the most amazing cat. Took a while to get litter trained but I’m glad we opened up our home to him before the bad weather got here. Thanks to this site, we found our new family member! Thanks to whoever posted.

      Nice for overnight

Stayed one night while traveling back to the east coast. It is a decent campground. The bath house was clean and showers were hot. Sites are close together. Mine had shade. There is a small dog park at the top of the hill.

I came late and left early, so didn't get to browse the cheese shop, but it looked nice. I would stay here again.

Nice little campground below the dam at Smithville Lake

We tried Smith Fork and liked it. The only downside is that some of the campsites are close together/congested, but that’s not necessarily a big negative. We have Verizon and service was good. Camp hosts were great!

      Good spot

We offer a perspective on RV camping "off peak" (late fall and early spring).  This KOA has a nice eastern exposure for morning sun, and lots of pull through sites.  On the downside, if you're sensitive to nearby road noise, there's a lot of Jake Brakes on I-70 which, at least in the absence of tree foliage, is all over the park.

      Peaceful

We stayed Sunday-Wednesday and it was very peaceful. Sites are not right on top of each other and it looks like they all have a fire pit and picnic table. There are only a handful of paved spots and you will need leveling blocks on the gravel. Showers and bathrooms are clean and the hosts are very nice. New asphalt roads throughout the park; nice for walking, biking, etc. Be sure to get biscuits & gravy at “The General Store” just down the road from the park entrance.

      I Made a Kittah Friend

There is a super sweet local cat who befriended me here and made my visit so much better. I had some mechanical issues with my car and Kampground Kittah tried to help. 🤣

Bathrooms were fine. It’s free camping so it was great that there were bathrooms at all.

One of the locals stopped by my site to look for arrowheads. Apparently, she has found a lot in the area so that’s a good activity if the kids are bored.

If you’re looking for a good wine, you can find some at the local auto parts store. I am not kidding! I think it’s Rick’s Auto Parts and their liquor is priced very reasonably. 😄 If your car’s broken down and you can’t drive, I guess you might as well drink and Rick’s there to help you out with both. 🤣

      Bake, broiled, or fried.

We were meeting cousins from Texas to do the Lewis and Clark loop (the campground is an excellent choice for that) this past weekend (August 19-21). The heat index was 120F. No lie. The campground had nothing to do with the ambient heat, but as there are only a couple lots with trees, very little grass, and the spaces are narrow enough to hand your neighbor a stick of butter from your window to theirs, we were all pretty miserable.

On the high side, the laundry and restrooms are above par (and the air conditioning was excellent), they have a lovely pool, and a small but adequate dog run. The cheese shop is very well appointed and included some lovely local wines which was a life saver as it was too hot to cook. Wine is a major food group, right?? The hosts were friendly and the facilities very clean. The park is right on the highway and so if you're looking for white noise...you've got that going for you. 30 amp power, sewer, and adequate water pressure at the site was nice. We were in space #68...I'm not kidding when I say they're narrow.

Not a place to recreate, but definitely a safe and clean space to spend the night enroute to your destination.

      We couldn’t stay here

Booked based on positive review. It's a very small camping area with one old trailer that is falling apart and decaying and another RV has fallen apart or has exploded - and appears to be decaying as well. The pond is stagnant and green with algae, moss and/or mold. No hosts to be found. We could not stay.
