Best Glamping near Hermann, MO

We spent 2 nights here. Wish we could spend more. Extra effort was made by the staff to make this a special place. Landscape art makes it a fun place to explore. The town of Hermann( 19 miles away) is a beautiful town and great German food. Brand new Dollar/Dollar General store across town. Dog part was simple but gave our dogs some exercise. Veteran and Sam discounts.

This is a city run camp with like-new amenities. Unfortunately it sits on the wrong side of a levee with not much atmosphere. The water is part of the Missouri river flood control. An overnight site in my opinion.

We camped in a 32' Class C for 7 days during the Miss Missouri Pageant. It's a quite little park with maybe 15-20 sites with electric only. There is potable water and sewer dump on site. So W of the sites could be considered pull through depending if you have a neighbor or not. Some of the camp sites are arranged like a standard parking lot where you back in or pull in nose to nose or bumper to bumper depending on your type of rig. There is a fair amount of shade. The RV park is also the city park so there is a fair amount of traffic in and out during the day but not too bad. There is a playground area, bicycle /walking path as well as public flush toilets and a pavilion. It worked perfectly for our needs.

We really enjoyed this campground. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check-in was very easy and we were met at the gate. They drove us over to our spot and brought us over a firepit. The electrical box was setup correctly and everything worked as expected. Water hookup was very close as well and water pressure was strong. As an FYI, we did have to use a regulator to reduce the water pressure. 

We were able to stay right along the river. We had arrived a little too early in the camping season and we happened to pick days where Missouri had a cold front (previous weekend was warm). Even with the cold weather, we were able to really enjoy the trip and get our RV ready for the upcoming season. 

The camping spots are basically just spots in a big parking lot layout. It is fully paved, but during busy season, you would be very close to other rigs. The park is beautiful and a very short walk over to the cave and ziplines. There is easy access to the river and you are able to easily put in your kayak or small boat. Restroom, showers and trash were a short walk as well.

We will return to this site.

Great spot. Enjoy the sound of owls and silence. Plenty of dead/down trees for firewood. 2 bars w/Verizon.

When I first pulled in I kept going back further only to realize the spots were located right by the road side. I wish there would have been signs pointing them out more. It looks like I wasn’t the only one to continue on as there were tire tracks already and then turn arounds. It’s quiet and peaceful! The service is okay I have ATT and had 1-2 bars most of the time. It rained and got muddy but the road was dry rocks which was a great place for my dogs to walk without getting my car all dirty. All in all it was a good place. I was the only one there.

Gravel roads to the campsites are well maintained. Campsites are clean and well maintained. Maps are okay, but not the best. You could easily get an RV or camper around the roads. The way I came was a little weird with some awkward turns that might be tricky for a less experienced operator. At&t gets decent service.

There are homeless people living there in tents and late night parties with fireworks and people being rude. This happened 4 of the 11 nights I have camped there and will not go back after leaving at 4am due to people on drugs freaking out on each other.

I stayed one night in the RV campsite. There was only one other camper. The grass had been mowed recently so the path around the pond was easily walkable.

Not many of the RV sites had fire rings and, with all of the fresh cut grass, it would have taken a lot of raking to make a spot safe for a fire anyway.

There are 10 or so primitive tent sites and an area that will accommodate about a dozen RV’s. There are no services here and no hook ups, but it’s free. The primitive tent sites are spread out along the main road through the conservation area, which means that in the daytime you will get road noise and dust, but its pretty quiet at night. Only a couple have picnic tables, but all seemed to have at least a level spot for the tent and a fire ring. I noticed some sites had a bit of trash in the fire rings, probably from day use or partiers. There is no trash service, so plan to pack out your trash. The best site (already taken, too bad) was set on the edge of the woods next to a fishing pond. The campers that were there let me take some pics of their site since it was so pretty. The only downside to that site was its proximity to the RV lot and their generators. There are some nice hiking trails here to explore.

As the previous reviewer stated, this is entirely primitive camping. No services at all but the grounds are neat and clean. We camped in the RV area. There were a couple of other tents and a popup and aside from the popup running his generator 24hrs a day, it was very quiet and relaxing. There's some stocked ponds to fish in and trails to explore. We rode the Katy Trail which is only 3.5 miles down the hill from here.

Nice area, second camping area at the end of the road. No amenities at the end of the road, but there is a toilet at the first camping area. Beautiful scenery, alot of hunters.

I stayed here in June on a Tuesday night. The main pull-in parking area was completely empty. Has a ton of spots, most with their own fire ring. Some have some shade. There were also other more private pull-in spots where I saw only 2 other vehicles. There’s a little pond with wildlife like rabbits and frogs. You get there after about 5 miles on a well maintained, wide gravel road. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay!

Great place to go right off the highway

We stopped despite the reviews as we just needed to sleep and did not plan to get out at all. The place is in terrible shape though there is goats and chickens running around which was kind of cool. Sketchy as prices weee not as posted on their website and they only take cash. Overhanging trees drag on vehicles. For our purposes it worked but I would not come here for anything else.

Traveling in 38’ Class A Motorhome. I’m trying not to be totally negative. The owner/manager was extremely nice and we felt safe while staying here, outside of that this campground needs ALOT of TLC. It is very old and worn.... entering the office was an experience itself, cd’s, videos, boxes, and stuff everywhere (and I do mean everywhere). The RV spots were gravel, pull through, & full hookup. The grounds were scattered with old trucks and broken down cars - the buildings and most tables were green and need cleaning. The trash container was a black pickup truck that was overflowing with garbage bags. The ‘fishing pond’ was a solid sheet of green algae. We stayed one night while traveling through KY. $35 w/Good Sams discount!

Most tenants work in the Vicinity . The spaces are a little bit dirty. Nobody picks up after the dogs. The pound is nice, but filthy water

Lost valley happens to be one of our favorite camp grounds. They are extremely family friendly, they have an indoor pool, hot tubs, and sona, an outdoor pool and hot tubs, inflatable jump pillows, concerts almost every weekend, full hookups, plenty of tent camping sites as well, two swim beaches and several lakes on the property. If that's not enough try the horse back riding, or indoor mini golf, or grab a meal or a drink at the on site restaurant and bar.

We love to camp here, we have lots of friends here, old and new. There is swimming year round with 2 indoor pools, hot tubs and sauna. Summer time swimming at 1 outdoor pool and 2 swimming beaches at the lake. You can rent paddle boats, canoes, kayaks and fishing boats. Plenty to do all year round like, play indoor mini golf, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, arcade games and watch a movie. There is horseback riding, pony rides and the jump pillow are big favorites. Sit around the fire, go to the Tiki Hut for a drink, order a pizza or something to eat at the restaurant. Sometimes there is live music on the weekend.'

I spent years growing up enjoying lost Valley lake. Many enjoyable family fun.

Stayed there for a week. The owners are very friendly. Very well kept campground. Enjoyed the pool.

Excellent grounds. Very very clean and well kept. Hosts/owners are extremely responsive and helpful. Sights have some trees. Walking paths, dog walk area, fire pits, bathhouse. I would visit again.

We discovered this gym. On our way home. Just needed to stay overnight, but will definitely be back. The little details make it very homey. Sites are well laid out and easy to maneuver. Full hook ups or tent sites are available to meet the needs of the camper. Clean facility and family friendly.

Great staff, wonderful level sites. Bathroom on site. Pool during season. Partially shaded. Dog walk area. Pet friendly.
