LegendHuge campground in a wonderful location. They have everything here- huge playground, pool, beach, great store, lots to do. The view of the lake from our site was spectacular. There is a beautiful grassy and rocky shoreline that is lined with fire pits for viewing the sunset and bridge lights in the evening. Very cool and communal in a good way. You buy your ferry tickets to Mackinaw Island at the camp store and it's 10 minutes to get there with boats leaving every 30 minutes. The island is amazing and worth a day of your life to ride around it on a bike and get some good food and fudge.
TravelerWe have been coming to Loons Point for 3 summer visits. We have experienced nothing but superior service and support from the people who work here! It's not the fanciest but there's very good value for the price. You can't touch them in the area for a full hook up campground.
TravelerWonderful time at Leelanau at a waterfront site in a tent. Rangers were so nice and helpful, the sites in great condition, and the “outhouses” always clean. While most supplies, including firewood, are available through the rangers and camp store, the town of Northport, with Tom’s Grocery, is only 10 mins away. I had a great experience with quiet neighbors. Hiking is available in the park, and kayak and bike rentals are available in Leland.

TravelerWe were looking for a campground around Mackinac Island and found this little gem. Our camp host was lovely, and the sites were spacious and well-kept. We were one of 3 groups in the entire campground, so it was a quiet stay with little interaction with others. We took a nice stroll over the bridge and through the pine forests. Close enough to gas stations and grocery stores, but still quiet.
GuideBooked a site day of in middle of May, and got a fantastic “walk-in” site overlooking the bay. When we were there the midges were swarming so it was a bit buggy. But the views were great and site was apart from the others, the walk in was very brief and vault toilet not far away.
