Several RV parks near Glen Burnie provide full hookup options for motorhome travelers. Cherry Hill Park in College Park features level pull-through sites with 50-amp service, water, and sewer connections on gravel pads with paver patios. Camp Meade RV Park in Laurel accommodates big rigs year-round with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups. Bar Harbor RV Park & Marina in Abingdon offers 91 sites with full hookups including 30/50-amp electric service, though some back-in sites require careful maneuvering. Ramblin' Pines in Woodbine provides year-round access with 50-amp service and spacious sites for larger motorhomes. "The FR row is the easiest place for big-rigs to park since some roads in the park are tight and hard to navigate with the trees and with the two-way traffic."

Access to these RV parks varies seasonally, with October being particularly busy at locations like Ramblin' Pines where Halloween events fill the calendar. Most parks maintain gated entrances with paved interior roads, though several reviews caution about tight turns when towing. Bar Harbor requires driving through residential neighborhoods, prompting one reviewer to note "big rigs take care/caution." Dump stations are available at all full-hookup parks, with some offering on-site propane refills. Cell service is generally strong throughout the region, with Cherry Hill Park providing the most reliable connectivity. Pet policies differ between parks—Bar Harbor has designated pet exercise areas with some restrictions, while Camp Meade and Cherry Hill are more accommodating with fewer limitations on walking pets throughout the grounds.

Greenbelt Park Campground — Greenbelt Park

Close to washington as we could get. Could also park our skoolie bus which was nice and had plenty of close by shower with bathrooms. Keep in mind only one shower per restroom house. We stayed at a pretty slow season so it wasn’t bad. Would recommend if visiting DC! They also have a dump station and water fill up.

      Codorus State Park Campground

      Hurricane camping

You just can't beat a pennsylvania park. This one is not an exception. Nice clean restroom, plenty of room. Now, what cost a star. Yes, it rained like hell. When we broke camp and go dump. The dump station was overflowing with sewer. Go to the guard shack to tell them, and find another site. None there. Can I go to an unused full hookup to dump? No! I would have to pay for the site. Two hours later, we found a place to dump for $10.

      Lake Fairfax Campground

Decent campground in the middle of a urban area

Spent two nights while we saw the Avett Brothers play at Wolf Trap. Nice flat site with power. Campground was quiet and clean. The only negative is communication and signage. It took us a couple wrong turns to find our site and when we came back, after the concert around 11, the entrance gate was closed and we had to sneak in through the exit gate. Asked the next day and they said that is what campers do to access the park after 11pm.

      Redemption Springs

      Pleasant Stay and Hosts

We stayed at Redemption Springs to get relatively close to Baltimore without bringing our 30ft travel trailer into the city. Seth and the other gentlemen I spoke with were all extremely accommodating. Enjoyed learning about their approach to restorative farming and purchasing a variety of treats at the farm store. Beef, pork, chicken, seasonings, baked goods, and more. We booked on Hipcamp and recommend following his driving instructions. Our rig fit fine by tuhe main barn and they kept an eye on us going in and out to make sure we didn't have issues making any of the turns. Lots of farm life!

      Little Bennett Campground

      Great Potential?

We stayed at Little Bennett starting on Labor Day Monday and left before the weekend, so it is hard to say how this looks when the campground is full of life. They had quite a few activities for families and a pavilion capable of concerts and such, but there was minimal activity during our stay. My biggest complaint is that the gate code changed and we didn't get any notice--so after a long day and a dinner out near Baltimore (nearly an hour away), I had to call the police to get back to my camper. Otherwise, the campsite was relatively spacious and quiet. The bugs were a little rough. Lots of whitetail running around.

      Annapolis MWR Academy RV/Campground

      Great spot for Retirees/Active

If you want to be near Annapolis, right on the Severn River...this is it. About 15 RV spots nestled in the woods...with full hook ups. A couple of primitive spots as well. Just a quick 5 min walk to the river...right across from the Academy. NEX, gas within 10 min walk, and 15 min drive to downtown Annapolis. Staff is always great here, and the park is clean....for a park on the woods.

      Burke Lake Park Campground

      Amenities good

The park is very well maintained, and the campsites have clean fire pits and cooking grills. The restrooms are clean, spacious, and well maintained, and my campsite was large enough to comfortably fit a 6-person tent and a canopy.

However, there were a few concerns during our stay. Despite the campground’s quiet hours policy starting at 10:00 PM, many campers continued to make noise well past that time. I did not notice any campground staff or maintenance personnel making rounds to enforce the quiet hours.

I also felt concerned about security. One of my neighboring campers, who was visiting from South Carolina, told me that his generator had been stolen during the night. He reported the theft to the police, and an official report was filed. Incidents like this made me feel unsafe while camping.

I recommend increasing staff or security patrols, especially during the evening and overnight hours, to enforce quiet hours and improve the safety and security of campers and their belongings. With better enforcement and security, Burke Lake Campground would provide an even better camping experience.

      Bay Shore Campground

      Fred’s bay shore

One of our favorite places. Very well kept. No bathhouse so bring your own. A lot of shady sites. Great views of Chesapeake bay. Flat roads in the area for cycling.

Waterfront activities: Bar Harbor RV Park offers direct water access where "you can fish from your chair. Kayak rentals, boat slips" are available, making it perfect for anglers. As reviewer Lisa T. notes, "Beautiful family owned campground... surrounded by water. Fishing piers, (I love to crab) catch them and steam them in my camper (a MD thing)."

Wildlife viewing: Hollofield Area Campground has 70 miles of hiking trails with opportunities to spot local wildlife. City exploration: Take public transportation from Greenbelt Park Campground to downtown DC attractions. Laura M. suggests: "Take the green line into town. The lot there is huge and open and free on weekends. Weekdays it's about $5/day if you take the metro... The train ride from the Greenbelt station to the national mall is about 30 min."

    What campers like

River access: Patapsco Valley State Park offers multiple trails leading directly to the Patapsco River. "We enjoyed hiking the trails directly from our campsite that led us down to the Patapsco River. There is a lot of history associated with the River and the area. You can even swim in this river," notes Travyl Couple.

Spacious wooded sites: Campers appreciate the natural setting at Hollofield Area Campground where "nice wooded sites set far apart from each other" provide privacy. Ricky R. mentioned, "We always have a blast at patapsco state park. Great wooded sites," making it ideal for those seeking a forest camping experience.

Location convenience: Many campgrounds offer quick access to major cities. Bay Shore Campground provides "Perfect location for relaxation... Only 3 miles to drive into town" according to Jennifer C., while another camper noted it's "convenient to DC and public transportation."

    What you should know

Reservation requirements: Most camping areas near Glen Burnie require advance booking. At Greenbelt Park, Crystal C. advises, "Reserve online - this is a NO CASH facility which means you CANNOT pay upon arrival so you will have to do so online."

Varying amenities: Facilities differ significantly between parks. As one camper at Bar Harbor noted, "Full hookup but we're told to turn off and unhook water the night it dropped below freezing. They do fill up propane but there's a Tractor Supply about 20min away that will also fill them."

Seasonal considerations: Weather affects camping conditions. At Bay Shore Campground, a visitor reported summer advantages: "If you enjoy beautiful sunsets, seeing bald eagles every day, having a nice breeze, not too buggy, well kept campground this is the place to go."

    Tips for camping with families

Nature playgrounds: Some parks offer unique play areas beyond standard equipment. Jennifer S. describes Patapsco's features: "There is a 'natural' playground in the loop... large rocks and overturned trees. The kids loved it."

Pet policies: Most campgrounds welcome pets with some restrictions. At Bar Harbor, "There was a fenced dog area and play set" according to Laure D., while Crystal C. noted another park had "No hanging things from trees. Even if you love a hammock you cannot hang them at this park."

    Tips from RVers

Site selection: When booking RV sites near Glen Burnie, consider maneuverability. At Cherry Hill Park, Beth R. notes, "You get what you pay for. This campground has so much to offer... 50 amp hook-up, Water, Sewer," though she mentions "Gravel pad" as a drawback.

Location advantages: Several parks offer strategic positioning for exploring the region. One camper staying at Fort Belvoir mentioned it's "Handy to the DC Metro Transit system. Nice views of river... You really need a toad since supplies are not very close to the camping area."

Utility management: Water restrictions may apply seasonally. At Bar Harbor RV Park, "Sewer is not there yet, but they have portables just in case you need to remove some instead of moving the entire camper," according to Lisa V., while another camper mentioned, "Before purchasing Wifi, check your coverage. We have AT&T and had plenty of service."
