ScoutI will say that my preferred camp site is one that is heavily wooded, where I can hardly see my neighbors and where I have some view of something impressively beautiful. I have a small camper and two young kids so on long camp trips I appreciate a place with RV hook-ups. This place may not offer a heavily wooded area where I can't see my neighbors but it makes up for it for everything else it offers. It's right on the ocean, it has gardens and secret nooks where you can sit and make a fire. It has a beautiful art studio. It has a play room and play ground that kept my children entertained for hours so I could read. The other campers were so pleasant that I had no issues with being close to them. I had the lobster dinner they offered and it was excellent. I will come back again.
TravelerPeople here are so nice an will help u with whatever u need! They deliver fire to ur spot an everything! There’s a store with ice an food an other camping supplies even stuff for trailer repairs! I love this place an definitely would become a long term resident if they had a long term spot available

GuideFriendly, very clean and quiet. Beautiful sites with mostly hardwood trees. Laundry, showers and camp store. Sites are fairly large. Nice pond for swimming or boating. Close enough to drive to Mt Desert Island. Campground is set way back off the road so you get no road noise! Visit Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mtn, Fort Knox Observatory. Met an elderly couple who travel around the country to Thousand Trails Campgrounds who told us this is the best TT campground in the country. We love it, will be back.
GuideI am not an rv parking lot kind of person so I really like this campground. It looks like the sites are on top of each other online but they r better than most the way they are arranged. We could have chosen lakefront but they were just water and electric and since we were staying 4 days we chose the full hookup in a nicely wooded site. There is a place to put your boat in if you have it, laundry, dock, fishing, camp store and I thought a great playground and field are if u have kids with u and clean restrooms
ScoutThe Moorings has beautiful ocean front sites( they book up fast). And almost all the other sites have partial ocean views as well. Please note they have upgraded the campground and now ALL sites are full hook up with 50 amp, water and sewer. We stayed here in a 40 foot Motorhome. Many sites (not all) can accomodate bigger rigs. This is a great location from which to explore Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and towns of Belfast, Rockland and Camden.

TravelerWe enjoyed a four day stay. If you don’t need a full hook up, you can stay closer to the lake, which we will do next time. The campground is clean, has good amenities, and the people who own it are very nice and helpful. Our site was also very level.
LegendThis is a large campground, right on Mount Desert Island, about 8 miles from Acadia NP. Most of the sites are pretty close together, but we got a site on the water with lots of room. Water and 30-amp electric, some are full hook up, and a dump station. The site was easy to get into, and reasonably level. Lots of shade, and a steady breeze off the water. Bathrooms and showers are clean and large, though slightly aged. There is a pool, playground and laundry. Close to good seafood too!
