Quite and well maintained

My boyfriend and I drove all around looking for a camping place in the Bar Harbor area but nothing was open because it was the end of April. We decided to take a ride to Stonington and happen to find this gem. This camp ground was a little drive away from Bar Harbor but well worth it! It’s been months since we stayed there and I felt like I had to leave this 5 star review. The sites and bathrooms were clean. The owner was super nice and polite. The site was also spacious. We definitely will be back.

I don't leave 5 stars

This is a small, wooded campground with large private sites. They are working to improve the campground everyday. The area is remote, services are around but limited and the upper sites where we are have a great view of the sky for Starlink users. There is a bathhouse and a laundry room with a washer and a drier. There is no deposit for reservations and payment is online. We had an ebike fire and the owner was mellow, helpful and got us what we needed to clean up the mess including his personal truck for him to drop everything remaining at the dump. This place is awesome and quiet.

Nice quiet campground, great hosts

This is a wonderful campground with sites with lots of privacy. We stayed for a month and were very happy with our stay. The amenities are all well done, limited in scope. The result is a quiet atmosphere. Troy and his wife (the owners) are very friendly and helpful. Our AT&T reception was fine for streaming, internet access and calls. We did not use the laundry facilities and showers but they were clean and welcoming. And it is pet friendly. Located near Stonington, it is near the harbor, restaurants, a sand beach and the ferry to Isle au Haut. Opportunities for Kayaking, SUP’s and hiking abound here on a quiet island. Stonington has some great restaurants and is a quaint fishing village. The harbor is beautiful. And it is not far from busier areas like Blue Hill, Brooklin, Castine and a one hour ride from Mount Desert Island. What we enjoyed most was the lack of crowds and many places to just sit and enjoy the views.

Sitesite 5, nice for privacy with an open side with grass

Convenient Location to Stonington

The campsites are well spaced apart, some wooded and some are not. The campground was quiet, no road noise, safe. A fairly new Pickle Ball court was a pleasant surprise. Plenty of space to walk your dog. We were not able to connect to WIFI during our stay. Once your reservation is made (we texted the owner to make ours) reservations are on the honor system that you show up. No prepayment was required. An invoice is emailed to you with payment options the morning after you check in. It was refreshing to be trusted, like campgrounds used to be run.

Peaceful and Relaxing Trip

If you are looking for pools and activities this is not the place for you. This is a no frills campground and is absolutely wonderful. It is quiet and so peaceful. We stayed is site U1 which was fantastic. Last site on the deadend road and was very secluded. We loved our stay!!!!

Quiet - A Work in Progress

My wife and really enjoyed our stay at this park. Esthetically it is a little rough around the edges, so as we pulled in our first impressions were not great. However, the site we were in was quite nice with enough room for 22' camper. Our site was wooded, and would have been tight for a larger rig. There are sites in an open area much better suited for bigger rigs. They do not provide much in the way of privacy however.

The bathouse was really clean and nice for those not self contained.

The owner Troy made a point to stop in as we were getting ready to check out. Super nice guy. He and his wife just bought the park last year, and work is ongoing. My wife and look forward to see how this park matures under the new ownership. We will definitely return.
