Best Campgrounds near West Monroe, LA

Clean restrooms, nice sites, WiFi. Only downside is I had to call for same day reservations

Overview: A Bucket List Stay! Our Harvest Hosts stop at Landry Vineyards in West Monroe, LA, was quiet, relaxing, and memorable. This family-owned vineyard, nestled in rolling hills, offered a peaceful escape. The welcoming staff made us feel right at home, from the first communication to the wine tasting. Campsite& Activities: We stayed at a spacious hookup site with water and electric, offering stunning vineyard views. The peaceful campground was perfect for unwinding. The Saturday evening concert was a highlight, with live music adding a vibrant and memorable touch to our stay (check their calendar for dates). The tasting room’s 6-wine flight from 30 varieties, with a souvenir glass, was a treat. The tasting room staff were incredibly helpful with guiding us through the experience and helping us find places in town. Staff& Experience: Welcoming staff made us feel at home, from check-in to wine tasting. Booking through Harvest Hosts was easy, and the purchase expectation was reasonable—we bought a bottle of wine. Overall: Landry Vineyards was a delightful stopover while passing through West Monroe. The scenic site, lively concert, impressive tasting, and warm hospitality made it a Bucket List Stay. If we pass through again, we will definitely book again!

We spent the weekend in site #7. Weather was challenging with severe thunderstorms but the site was overlooking the vineyard. Site has electricity and water. Jeff, Libby and staff friendly as always. Concert with Clara Rae was a bonus

We had a great time even with bad weather. Rained the entire weekend but we still had a blast on the trials and docks.

Needed a place to charge up and empty/refill tanks in my camper van. Full hook ups although I picked a spot without waste dump because I wanted to back into the woods. There is a community dump location anyways. Bathrooms were the cleanest I’ve seen in a public park. Most people seem to come for the fishing but we enjoyed the nature and short hiking trails. unesco world heritage site is less than a 20min drive. I also picked a site close to the showers and bathroom.

We stayed at location #13 at far end of the tasting room. It was a beautiful location that allowed us to overlook the vineyard. It was very easy to get into and out of with our 45’ 5th wheel. 

We really appreciate the directions that were given in terms of which roads to take to the vineyard.

Beautiful park. Large concrete pads with fire pit and table. Laundry and wifi. Wifi worked well in c14.

Old campground along pretty lake in a national forest. Clean; the grounds are well maintained. The campground is confusing. Campsites are not marked. Looks like it was initially developed as a tent campground. There are shared vehicle parking pads; sites are not actually next to these - need to walkin a little. RV campers can probably park on the parking pads and walk to nearby picnic tables. Some sites have metal fire rings and lantern poles near picnic tables. Otherwise, it appears that previous campers had open campfires. Hammock camping is possible in a few areas. Clean his/hers vault toilet with tp and hand sanitizer. Water pumps scattered throughout campground; water was turned on duirng my stay. Sites in the middle of the campground are level; others slope down a little toward the lake. Sites are grass surfaces. No tent pads. No RV driveways to individual sites. Quiet, peaceful. No fee. Day Use area with fishing pier nearby. Partial shade; solar charging and Starlink access may be a challenge. Sporadic AT&T and T-Mobile service. Overall, this is a nice campground. I was the only camper during the nights I camped hare. A local resident stopped by to check up on me.

We stayed at Landry Vineyards on a Saturday and they were quite busy. This probably accounts for why one of the owners(Libby Landry) was a bit curt. However, the other owner(Jeff Landry) was very friendly. The young woman who was working at the vineyard was also very nice. We decided to pay for a full hookup site although we ended up connecting only to electricity. The site(#3) was on the upper level and was quite scenic...a nice spot. The site was rock and not quite level since we had to use leveling blocks to avoid having the back tires of our 39 foot motorhome lifted off the ground. Directions that we received to get to the winery and to the parking site were quite detailed and appreciated. We were towing an automobile behind the motorhome. Turns to the upper level of parking sites were a bit tight, but not difficult to manage. We each enjoyed a tasting of wines and purchased a bottle of Petite Sirah to have with a cheese pizza that we ordered...Unfortunately, the server forgot to put in our order for the pizza, so we missed out on that. This was a nice stop and we would probably stop again if returning to this area.

Stayed at site 50, which is right by some parking. Stay at 45-46 for the more secluded spots. Bathrooms really clean, only issue is the shower. When turned on, the entire floor is flooded. However, it is clean. There is a boat launch and hiking trails, along with the mounds. Definitely a beautiful spot to camp.

Am amazing area for an overnight stop. The vinyard is clean and the space for parking was a great spot. Don't miss this one. Have a flight of wine and cheese sit back and enjoy.

Easy to find with the link in Dryt. Don’t even try to find it on your own with Apple Maps! It’s just a longish drive off of a nice paved two lane. There is a big sign at the mouth. Just a circle turn around back in the woods. I was the only car and we (me and my doggo) slept and drove away!

Super cute little spot. It had plenty of space/sites for big rigs, cars, tents, and hammocks. Established bathrooms and trash receptacles. Absolutely 0 service for AT&T or Verizon. The road down there is full of huge potholes, be aware! Especially at night lol.

Absolutely beautiful. Husband was very helpful. I highly recommend this place. Very quiet and nice. Will stay there again.

My wife and I really enjoyed this get away for the weekend. The site was nice and quite. The view of the vineyard from the site was amazing. Mr. Jeff came by and greeted, even assist me by allowing me to borrow a hose to complete the hook up on my camper. The staff at the winery was very polite and friendly. Thank you all for such a great experience!!

Nice well maintained campground. Bathhouse is nice and clean. Not many trees. Sites are a nice size. Most have plenty of space between each other. Would be hot for summertime camping.

The reservoir isn’t in the campground. Black bears may be seen. Close to town, so a bit noisier than some. Very nice campground that is very nicely maintained. Historical site. Archeological history.

We really enjoyed our stay. We were the only campers so it was very quiet and peaceful. The site was clean and level which is always a plus for us

We have stayed in the vineyard three times. It’s a nice drive from the interstate and a very peaceful place to spend the night. The RV sites are easy to access. The power, water, and WiFi are good. We were there in May, and twice in September.

This place was quiet and very peaceful. We had our own fishing pier at our site. The bathroom were big and clean. Had A/C and the water was extremely hot.

We arrived close to the tasting room closing time, but were able to call in an order for wine, cheese & crackers to be delivered to the campsite for a very pleasant end of a long day of driving. Very accomodating service and beautiful view of the vineyards!

We arrived around 6 p.m. and were warmly greeted by the owner, who kindly explained how to reach our site on the hill that overlooks a beautifully maintained and fruitful vineyard. Watching the sunrise over the vineyard the next morning as I strolled through the fields with our furry companion revealed the simple yet captivating beauty of the surroundings. We were so impressed by our stay that we couldn't resist ordering wine online. Highly, highly recommend this place. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The vineyard is beautiful and the hosts were just as lovely.  We sat down for a couple tastings and played card games in the indoor area since it was brutally hot outside.  We had a wonderful conversation with the owner who made us feel at home.  We definitely recommend this location!
