Best RV Parks & Resorts near Ruston, LA

CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Lincoln Parish Park offers 33 RV sites with concrete pads and full hookups, situated around a small lake in Ruston. The campground provides 50-amp electrical service, water connections, and sewer hookups for motorhomes and travel trailers. "The RV spots all had a great view of either the lake or the amazing woods," noted one camper who appreciated the well-maintained facilities. Landry Vineyards Grape Escape RV Sites features 11 sites with electric, sewer, and water hookups in a scenic vineyard setting a few miles from Interstate 20. The vineyard accommodates big rigs, though some travelers report the access road has tight curves requiring careful navigation for larger motorhomes.

Several RV parks in the area remain open year-round, with Lincoln Parish Park requiring gate access codes after closing hours. Cell service varies by provider, with ATT reported as most reliable while Verizon and T-Mobile coverage can be spotty at some locations. Pets are welcome at most parks, though specific restrictions may apply. Dump stations are available at Ouachita RV Park in Monroe and Lincoln Parish Park, approximately 20 minutes east of Ruston. During concert events at Landry Vineyards, RV campers should expect increased day visitor traffic. The narrow, winding roads approaching some parks may present challenges for larger rigs, as one visitor cautioned about the "tight and windy roads with 30mph curves" leading to vineyard camping areas.

    Ouachita RV Park

Beautiful location and high quality park

Right off of I-20 and on a scenic lake that the sun sets over. The mall is right across the interstate with many good restaurants. There are bathrooms and showers, a nice playground, basic RV supplies for purchase, pull through sites, full hookups, the office has a full kitchen, pool table, piano, and event room. I stayed long term and there were several other college girls staying there for school (like I was). The staff took good care of us and made a priority out of putting us all near each other. There is a full time maintenance staff, dumpster and dump station. It is a KOA park.

    Jimmie Davis State Park Campground

Prettiest La. State Park (so far)

Jimmie Davis State Park is wonderful, well maintained, and has a number of amenities.  Prettiest La. State Park I've stayed in so far. We had a great stay the days before Thanksgiving, and the weather was awesome. The fall leaf colors were spectacular. Caney Lake is clean and beautiful. I enjoyed walking and sitting along the lake in the mornings. Bathrooms were clean.

Stayed in campsite#52. Back-in site with asphalt parking, picnic table and fire ring. 15A/30A/50A, and water. No deck, sewer, Wi-Fi, and cable TV hookups. It has a large area on door/awning side. Awning faced west but the trees provided ample shade from the evening sun shining underneath. The spot is well spaced from other sites. The site is located near the lake. I wish the site had a paved patio or deck like site 51 and 54 on either side. Nearest neighbor was at least 30-40 ft. Away. Roads in the park were asphalt/concrete/gravel.

Both AT&T and Verizon had low signal(2 bars each). AT&T Speedtest= 16.8 Mbps down, 1.4 Mbps up. We camped in a Travel Trailer. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Jimmie Davis State Park in a Travel Trailer.

    Lake Bistineau State Park Campground

    Beautiful state park

Lake Bistineau is a great state park park near Shreveport, LA. We stayed 2 nights. The sites are very shady. The park streets and sites are asphalt. Some roads need repaving. The park was clean and quiet, and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, the lake was drawn down to eradicate an invasive water plant. But, this presented a unique opportunity. We could walk on the dry lake bottom and see the parts of cypress trees that are normally under water.

Stayed in back-in campsite#14 which was level side to side, but the front was higher. The site has a nice view of the lake and a large wooden deck. There was just enough parking for my 34 ft TT and truck. Neighbors are nearby, but not too close. The site included: picnic table on concrete, BBQ pit, trash pole, and fire ring. Utilities: 20/30/50A electric in back. Water in back, good pressure. No sewer, but a dump station is available.

AT&T had 2 bars of LTE and Verizon 2 bars of LTE service. AT&T Speedtest: 5.1 Mbps down, 0.7 Mbps up. Verizon Speedtest: 7.4 Mbps down, 0.1 Mbps up. No WiFi.

Would stay here again. We camped at Lake Bistineau State Park in a Travel Trailer.

    Lincoln Parish Park

    Quiet Weekend with Fun Activities

We stayed at spot 32. It was a very quiet spot that had a lot of shade but still had a view of the water. Close to the restrooms but not much through traffic. Large wide spots with paved cement made it easy to park and level. Full hook ups were nice. Trash cans were at every other campsite. There are only 33 RV spots at the park so it makes for a great getaway with not a ton of people. The site had good Verizon cell service, 2 bars with about 40-50 mbps. The walking path around the lake was really nice. The bike trails were really fun. They even kayaks for rent on the lake for a reasonable price. Overall the campground had great amenities and made for a great weekend getaway. We camped at Lincoln Parish Park in a Travel Trailer.

    Beaver Dam Campground

Home of the Sugsr Cane National Recreation Trail

Great US Forest Service campground especially if you enjoy hiking, biking or fishing. The Sugar Cane National Recreation Trail loops around the lake. The campground is a loop with approximately 30 large and level sites with electric and water hookups. Some are on the lake and some more wooded. All feel very private and spacious. There’s a dump station nearby. The sites are $25/night.

Easy $25 for one night while traveling through west coast to east coast to relocate. Riverton Lake Campground

No amenities, a little shabby, very quiet.

This CG was along my route, and didn't have any reviews (a shot in the dark). Riverside is both a RV and mobile home park. The year round folks are situated around the parameter with pull-through RV sites in the middle. The CG is at the end of the road and lays along the Ouachita River. Before driving into the CG there's a recreational area with playground equipment, a swimming area along the river, and a boat ramp. Although there are no amenities, ie., showers, toilets, laundry, each site does have FH (water, 120, 30amp, 50amp power, sewer).
